Very disappointed this was the big noon game. I'm a Buckeye fan, Gus and Joel are too good to stoop down to this level. I get it we pay the bills but it's weird hearing Gus talk that quietly during a broadcast. Big noon should've been Utah Ok St

OhioState fans expect to win each game by 50. Teams aren’t going to simply lay down for them . They won 49-14 and people on here saying man they looked mediocre, they looked average, they looked meh. 49-14, let that sink in

You dont understand the 1 year ohio state looked better than alabama all season long and even had better wins on there belt yet bc alabama put up more score or stacked their scores they got in and ohio state was left out! so thats why buckeye fans want to see ohio state just destroy, Yes as long as their winning i dont see how they could drop out of the top4! and buckeyes let up in the 4th as well or they could have scored 2 more tds! As you said its fine we dont need to win 70-10 every game! 49-14 is perfect not to mention 7 of the 14 was lit scored on the first drive lol!

As a buckeye fan we played ok. Offense looks elite especially with two dynamic backs and all them Wide receivers. The defense worried me especially the run defense too many big plays and the 3 kickoffs out of bounds was ridiculous. A LOT of things we gotta work on
i’m happy we get to fix these things tho
I hear ya. I think overall we just got to give credit to Marshall and their talent for making so many good plays on offense. They were unfazed at the shoe and that shoes guts. We still dominated in stretches so I think there is little to worry about. We just take our W and move on.

Those have got to be the two most dominant RB on any college football team. Putting them behind that powerful of an O-line is just a cheat code. When your run game is that dangerous, even just avg QB play is incredibly powerful.

Buckeyes had a good game, but early on they struggled with the turnovers. The offense has a great core of playmakers led by Will Howard. The Defense was in a fight in the the 1st half, but they knuckled down in the 2nd half

I need to see them run the ball up the gut, between the tackles, effectively. Until then, not a thing different than last year.
Us getting thrashed every game in the time of possession battle is a direct reflection of our inability to do this.
These things matter against other elite teams.

the imbalance in time of possession is a direct reflection of ohio state scoring on big plays and the defense making teams earn every yard. would you rather the offense chew up the clock and grind out first downs than have 40+ yard scoring plays?

Any Buckeyes fan will tell you this performance was inefficient. Slept walked all the first half, put them away in the 2nd. Lack showing today and still won by 35.
as long as i've been watching ohio state football (about 40 years), they have almost always been a 2nd half team.
The Ohio State Buckeyes have no business playing schools like Marshall. The Buckeyes are way out of their league. Even though I graduated from The Ohio State University in 1983, I don't like them to play colleges that are on a high school level.

Defense needs to play much better. Williams being out exposed lack of depth in the interior DL.
Secondary felt slow & sluggish against an air raid offense. They need to close down on receivers quicker and not allow so many broken plays.
Turnovers are unacceptable.
Marshall came to play but there is no excuse. They need to elevate come big10 play.

Gus is actually a Michigan Alumni but he is a great fan of the rivalry. He knows that one side being down or not hyping up either his school or rival is good for him and really the B1g Ten which his employer has a huge deal with through the B1G Ten network. He really though sounds as if he likes it when he can hype up anyone in the Big Ten. True fan of the game.

Officials were able to keep Ohio St in the game early on. There is a penalty every single play on the football field without exception. Zero. A good home officiating crew just knows when to call them.

We had Washington for this game but they ended up joining the BiG and the game had to be replaced and Marshall was available.. this is the first season we didn’t have a marquee matchup. But we got Oregon coming up.
