Ok, I hear ya, but I just got one question..
While serving in the intrests of others sounds great, and if you're in a position to prosper from doing so, that's a win-win... until that is, your neighbor of 10+ years moves out of the house he cant afford anymore because the widget company he worked at closed down, because you negotiated a cheaper source of widgets from China for the company you work for, is this still a net positive?
I suppose you could use the fat-ass corporate bonus you will receive for your contribution landing that deal, to then buy your former neighbor's property from the bank, so you can decide who gets to be your new neighbor, while you profit substantially from them. There's always a silver lining right?
If you think you want to serve others, service starts at home.
It's kinda funny, I'm not a Christian (most Christians aren't even Christian), but I raised one, and I've read a bit of the book myself, and there's one part which 99% of people don't acknowledge and to point it out to them is to attack their very being, and that is when Jesus spoke of "serving two masters", Matthew 6.24 if I remember correctly. Right there in red letters, you can't be a capitalist and a virtuous person, at the same time. 🤷
I'm no devote believer. I couldn't tell you when or in what state I was even in the last time stepped foot in a church, but one thing I do know is this, there is power in that message... Power y'all have got to get a grip on, before its to late to get this 21st century Titanic under control, and the ice fields are dead ahead.

So if you serve God and God only what would be your trade policy? Free trade or trade behind trade barriers?

I'm sure word capitalism is not in the Bible.

@@ramieskola7845 of course it isn't. I was paraphrasing, but and I didn't think I would have to explain it.
As for trade policy.... it's really more of a human policy that is needed.
For instance, how about we develop some morality and love for "thy neighbor"?
Maybe we could chase our kids around some community building events, instead of chasing paper like a fuckin dope fein. I don't know if anybody else has noticed or not, but that's exactly how entrepreneurs act. Money is more addictive, negatively impacts more of world (it always starts off so good though), and is literally the only thing that stands between a never-ending line of successive forever wars and something that looks alot like peace on earth (minus a assholes that don't have any means left), and has for a millenia been referred to as "the root of all evil". I don't think that a trade policy is the answer. However, just because something doesn't have a positive impact, that don't mean that it won't have a negative one.
-Which reminds me, you never answered my question...
Do you really think that "helping" a Chinese businessman who runs a Ramen noodle factory in Vietnam, from a mahogany desk in Hong Kong, while branding themselves as Japanese in Korean markets, and Korean in Japanese markets, is actually doing a better thing than it is to mow every lawn on your block, because it's a holiday weekend coming and your done working already. I'm sure they'll appreciate not having to be in rush to get it done on Friday..
While we're at it, let's take a look at our books from last year. The actual numbers. Not the ones we reported. Let's review our real expenses (there all personal), and then we can start reviewing our non-management employees and their salaries. If you happened to spend 55k on a private jet to fly you to George Strait show, and you have full-time time employees (maybe they clean toliets) who don't make that much in a year, it's time you come to terms with the fact that you are in fact, NOT a Virtuous person....

@@martypatterson7382 Look up Jesus's parables. Now pay more attention to the parables looking up what the economics-related terms meant.
It's easy. Consider a marriage. The man is often stronger than the woman, while the woman is often better in multi-tasking. Would you have them work on their own providing for their, or have their own roles?

@martypatterson7382 But then since it's not just you two, you have lots of people in a community, how do you act? You specialize too in accordance with what others do. But what counts as community? Community can be so large geographically, like you can have friends across blocks, but you can also have community like friends from another island if you live in an archipelago. In fact the good Samaritan parable, shows Jews and Samaritans were neighbors, even if they're from different nations, when Israel broke up after the death of Solomon, when the people sought relief from Solomon's reign of heavy taxes.
