Atomic commands are now possible :) 2 units in the innermost circle, 8 in the next ... Idea: guard-templates for unit-types (incl. unit compositions of circles, reserve units staying opposite to a general guard direction). Guard-Patrol orders with even unit distribution along the route based on similar code where units can only chase into one direction... It would sometimes be useful if units dying in the innermost cause units from outer circles to move to the inner one. I can imagine a lot of gimmicks based on this. It is most important to not add all the possibilities before knowing what will be added and how it synergies or it will eat a ton of hotkeys :D
I have had some statistics classes that were less complicated. It seems the campaign should have included tutorials like this as a mission. That would have been nice.
Well, I discovered after you question what was the problem. I was trying to do it clicking ON the unit, so that doesn't work for me. I need to click and drag (to make a circle) NEAR the unit (or units, I guess) to protect unit "touched" by the circle .... Thank you!!!
Now your safe from sea bears

Use units as layers of of a shield then (as in Ender's game)?

I can't get it to work. Select units, G, and drag a circle over target ... doing a normal scout
Left click or right click? Make sure that the target is in the middle of the circle when you release the mouse.
