I literally needed this! I was crawling around the house, the pain was unbearable! Calves are the worst, now that I came across your video I am super grateful! Thank you, I will never forget this!
Did u try it? Does it really work? I need my calf muscles loosened. I hate the feeling of them tightening to the point I, about to pull a muscle. N I’m f***** scared how painful that’ll be.
Thank you so much. I'm on my feet 6-8 hours a workday and get 10-13k steps so my legs are usually sore after a day. I have everything: body roller with smooth surface and with studs to go deeper. Tennis ball and acupressure mattress. Yoga tiles and rubber bands. I just have to get up from couch and make decisions to better myself 😅
Bro you just saved my life. I do boxing training and I have a spar in 2 days and I had to get rid of these tight calves otherwise it would affect my performance, and that tennis ball method just saved it. THANK YOU
I actually use the ball of my left foot under my right calf. Both legs get worked out and you could vary the pressure to the muscle . Thanks & Good video man💯
Super effective!! Ive been searching for the pain relief exercises and tried a lot since my calves are always in pain after some walks but this is the best. In just 10 minutes all pains are gone!! Thank you so much!!
This happened when I was walking multiple times a day, on my weight loss journey. I’d wake up in the middle of the night and my whole leg, especially my calves, ankle, and toes. Everything would just lock up. Like a huge Charlie horse. I would stretch, use tennis balls, try to relax it. Nothing would work besides trying to walk off the pain, while holding onto anything you can because one of your legs doesn’t work. More, stretching, and more exercise helped them go away. Now that I started skateboarding again at 34, I’ve been having this issue with my left foot. My toes were completely curled in this morning. Probably be wise that is my pushing/stopping foot. Damnit…. That hurt.
I found that out today - I was at physiotherapist & I mentioned about cramps in calf muscles. He couldn’t believe how sore they were - he said extremely tight so I was thankful he worked on both legs.
Just got injured playing baseball. I will try this tomorrow. Thanks. I hope it helps and go back soon to action . Will let you know how it goes . Thanks
I went to doctor spent $852 they couldn't figured out the wanted to more testing and i said no, found this video did this for 3 days and my calves are feeling better thanks
Better yet, kneel on the floor and put a roller under the ankle. Sit back down on your calves with the ball between your hamstrings and calves. Flex your foot twenty times. Move the ball around all the way down to your ankle area. What works better is a fascia release ball with lots of pokey things around it.
Thank you for the couch part of this idea! I've been rolling my calves with a ball like this, but on the floor, and it ends up being more of a core workout as i try to move my body around and keep the tennis ball in place 😂 couch version with muscle flossing looks much easier !
I live in Turkey. I have metatarsalgia in my foot, I had surgery twice but it did not help. I am only 27 years old and I feel pain when I walk more than 1 km, even though I use appropriate sneakers and insoles. My doctor told me that my leg muscles were tight. Is this video suitable for me?
Just learned this as well. You can also put an ice pack on for a while to relieve the muscle. But never put anything hot on it cause it’ll cause inflammation and make it worse.
will this work for partial tears? I have a partial tear in the lateral head and would like to know if doing this will bring any benefit. Been struggling with this muscle for years,it just keeps healing and tearing again.
Thanks for this modification. I can’t get down on my hands and rolls myself back and forth. If this is not doable I will keep looking for modifications.
I diligently do calf raises with weights at the gym since a year ago, and it has helped me with my plantar f issue. I have no more pain every morning upon getting up. Amazing!
Normally the length of time the pain continues. There may also be other symptoms (bruising/ swelling) with a calf tear/ injury. Tight calves are normally only painful if you palpate them.
6 feet tall about 200 lbs and I felt relief just watching lol I wish there was a way we could like idk remove our muscle fibers etc safely duh and stretch them out or wtv to eliminate stress knots and tension
I used the couch edge and just slowly (while putting pressure on it) move it up and down it felt great, yes it's painful i guess but that's what make it good righ?
thank you, on my right leg my calf is higher up and more flexible but my left leg is more down with restricted movement I want them both to be equally unrestricted
@@ExerciseForHealth omg within 3days I noticed a difference. I've had muscle tightness/ weakness for a month followed by a medical procedure. I'm glad I tried this🙂
I can walk a bit but i cannot walk properly do to the calf tightness when i put force on my affected leg i feel stabbing pain of mild cramp and tightness, is it ok to force myself to try walking with this, i cannot even climb stairs 😔😔 i miss walking normally 😢😢..
Finally a video that isn't 17 minutes long to explain a single muscle
Thanks
Thumbs up for that scream. So accurate!
Ha ha!
OMG I did this at 2am…. Thanks for the heads up
😂 I came her to see if anyone else found that scream both accurate and gratifying.
KA-jo8vn its 4am I swear
Ahhh the pain but the sweet sweet relief 😭 thank you for sharing this!
You're so welcome!
So true. I exclusively foam roll my calves before leg day and it works. Not exactly a tennis ball, but a foam roller works for my goals.
Great!

I tried it, it hurts when you do it but you will feel relief. The tightness goes away eventually, hang in there!
@@halsiediaz4804ofcourse it works but it depends on your execution and how many times you do it
Just finished doing 20 minutes a leg and I can now walk again. Cheers for the concise vid 👍👍👍
Ouch!
Thank you so much for this! Been struggling with tendinitis and this was an ultimate saver 🙌🏼

I’m having tight calf muscle right now. I’ll try this and hopefully it will help relive it.

Can u do this with a fome roller??
Yes, although it's not quite as targeted

Active myofascial release. I have insertional calcific achilles tendinitis. How often should I be doing this? I need to lose weight, too. Please help?
This is not for weight loss, but to relieve tight muscles.
Best advice I've seen yet, great job
Thanks

@@ExerciseForHealth I tried for a few days to heal but then I found this I heeled completely in 10 minutes
These videos always come in when I have nowhere to get a random ball
Ha ha!
@@ExerciseForHealth got it now, awesome routine!
After I do this exercise should I warm it up afterwards with a heating pad?
It's probably more effective to use the heat pad before you target the muscle with this
thankyou
You're welcome
awesome
Thanks
This exercise can also slim down calf muscles?
No, not really
Make sure to have tissues handy to dry your eyes from the pain
Ha ha!! Great!
This works pretty ok with my thumb
Nice
Do one for calf strains
Just came out yesterday here: ruclips.net/video/UMgk6IRVSNo/видео.htmlsi=M4VKlc4IBvBSFpEZ

I have been struggling with a messed up calf for weeks. Gonna try this
Great, hope it helps
Did it help?
Did it work?
Works on every muscle group btw!
For sure!
Found this 👍💖🤗
Great!!
nice.
Thanks
Has this helped anyone with insertional Achilles tendinitis?
It may have done, but strengthening the calf rather than using stretching/ myofascial release techniques would probably be more effective.
is it supposed to be very painful
No, slight discomfort/ mild pain, but not too much as that could take longer to recover from.
Just needed this
Great
It’s that scream for me…..perfectly on spot 😅
Yep!
Just learned this as well. You can also put an ice pack on for a while to relieve the muscle. But never put anything hot on it cause it’ll cause inflammation and make it worse.
For muscle knots, you actually want to warm the muscle up not cool it down.

No problem
will this work for partial tears? I have a partial tear in the lateral head and would like to know if doing this will bring any benefit. Been struggling with this muscle for years,it just keeps healing and tearing again.
No probably not, although I am doing a rehab video in a few weeks on torn calf muscles which might help
@@ExerciseForHealth Thank you
@@ExerciseForHealthplz hurry as I keep straining my calfs
Thanks for this modification. I can’t get down on my hands and rolls myself back and forth. If this is not doable I will keep looking for modifications.
No worries
Tennis ball won’t be doing much for mobility in the long run. Look into building strength through length-much more effective
Please note this video shows what you can do for muscle knots/ tight muscles, not how to improve the muscle flexibility.

well a foam roller work?
It will have a similar effect but won't target one spot as effectively as a ball.
Very similar to foam rolling.
Yes, except the ball is more targeted.
I used the couch edge and just slowly (while putting pressure on it) move it up and down it felt great, yes it's painful i guess but that's what make it good righ?
Yes it will be a bit painful.

I can't answer this as I don't know what is causing your symptoms. Please speak with your doctor.
So… foam roll?
Yep you can do that although it doesn't target the spot as well.
I personally go for very slow runs for about 20 minutes with 20 more minutes walking. It tends to loosen up durably my calves
Nice!
How about all over tight stiff muscles???
Treat the cause.
What about foam rolling it?😮
Same thing!
Weak or overused?from too much driving everyday?
Lots of causes!
My outter calf muscle(near shin) gets stiff if i start working out
