LOL, if you want something that stands out, buy a sports car. Japanese cars for whatever reason are mostly made up of awful designs. At least the reliability makes up for the lack of appeal.
To begin with most people are happy to just get to point A to B without too much fuss. If you're not into cars then a Toyota is a very wise choice: reliable and fuel efficient.
In my opinion, Lexus' interior design has always been better than its German competitors, I used to dislike the grille design but it's kinda grown on me
Lexus has made better cars than the Germans since they created the Lexus brands. The last 5 years have seen Lexus make better looking cars than the Germans.
This looks promising. I did buy an NX the first year it was out, but I only kept it one year...it was a bit to slow compared to other competitors in the same class, and the road noise was excessive. The infotainment system developed problems and would lock up periodically...surprising issues from a Lexus, I thought. The lockup could never be reproduced at the dealer, so I got sick of it and traded it in. Now I am eyeing the UX, but am wondering if it will have similar problems in the first year of production? I think I will wait for the 2nd or 3rd model year.
Lexus is gonna annihilate it’s German competitors in the years to come, if they keep improving this way. I can’t wait to see what the next generation of the NX will be like. I’d get one any day over the X3 or Q5, considering it’s great reliability.
I'm a true Lexus fan and I love the quality of the Toyota products. But these Toyota fanboys make me cringe so hard, literally the only thing they know are some studies by consumer reports LOL. Go get a life and don't judge people who prefer German or Swedish cars...
freshklinki93 those who prefer German cars without even knowing what they do better/worse than others deserve to be judged. Which represents a majority. I mean one of my friends who recently got a BMW is like it is the best car in the world and it is an *asset* - Because he doesn't know the rate of depreciation on BMWs. However, the ones who prefer Swedish cars are true people of culture. (not sarcastic)
SB The Pikachu No. NO one deserves to be judged based on the decisions he made with buying cars. See, I don't like VW products for example but I understand why people buy them - those are rational people, because VW is building the most practical cars with the best space, the biggest trunks, and - if you'd Research it you'll be surprised - their new diesel engines are the cleanest ones by far. But the Diesel discussion is something different so I won't bring that up. I can tell you the advantages of a 3 series compared to an IS - it has more space, the transmission is faster, the steering and suspension make the car more fun to drive. As you probably know, Jurichi Fuyuruma, the chief engineer of the IS already said that at least the predecessor of the IS couldn't stand a chance against the C-Class and the 3 series in terms of fun, economy and comfort. And they tried to make the best with the new one. The germans can't be that bad if even Lexus engineers use them for benchmarking, especially in the luxury class - but still, Mercedes with their Airmatic in the C-Class feels upper middle class, more comfy and - as the IS - with good quality inside and out, but with better use of materials - and the 3 series is still more fun to drive, however it lacks interior and exterior quality. And please... Don't bring up those reliability studies. And if so, take a look at the new JD Power Chart. Lexus is 5th, on top is Porsche. A german Brand of course. The brand of fun to drive, well-engineered cars. If people bring up unreliability of german cars they only see BMW and not the other brands. Meanwhile, Mercedes is first in roadsters (SLK,SLC, which according to studies by DEKRA and TÜV is the most reliable car you can buy), middle class limousines (C-Class) middle class SUV(GLK), upper middle class SUV (ML/GLE) Do you see my point? I love Lexus, the LC is to die for and my favorite car since it came out, my profile pic is our old GS 450h F-Sport but there are differences between fans and fanboys. Fans can see advantages and disatvantages of their Brand and of others while fanboys only see the advantages of their products. And sadly that's the case most of the time with the Toyota company, because those fanboys never possessed a car of other brands. Also, please don't bring up service costs and depreciation either - the world is big and it's different everywhere. Here in Europe, the brakes of a Lexus IS cost almost twice as much as of a C-Class and the 3 series is the most stable in value middle class limousine here...So, all in all, for me Lexus is a brand you can't be wrong with. Their cars are reliable, well-built, rather cheap to buy compared to germans and swedish cars, they're headturners (which of course is also a reason why some people don't go for Lexus because they don't want attention), well isolated, comfy and you can run for miles in them. But that also goes for other brands who may be more expensive but include features that aren't available in any Lexus model. And again, the User "VW is SHIT" exposes himself as a hater, which I already talked about. You'll never be able to discuss with those people. I consider myself to be able to discuss - since I love Mercedes, Lexus, infiniti, Volvo, jaguar, Land Rover and so on...which are all very different brands. Therefore I hope for an answer of you - who knows, maybe you're a fan.
why do some people call others fanboys when other people's opinions differs? all brands exist because they have their own buyers, to each his own.....peace
Very nice looking compact suv or lifted hatchback like everything else in its class on the outside now it’s not for everyone but it’s really edgy which younger buyers probably like. the Powertrain isn’t very powerful but enough to get around town or in the city plus traffic is not the best nowadays and the hybrid will be good On gas. The interior is a step up from previous Lexus’s interiors not to overwhelming but not to cheap looking overall a great car for millennial standards
You put the Volvo into the voting options too, so the title must be "cooler than anything germanic" not just german since you included a swedish one too ;)
Lexus's designs are always very bold but because of this they don't age very well. After a few years their german rivals still look quite elegant but Lexus's just start to look a bit like an old episode of tomorrows world
Would you mind to tell us more about engine, transmission, e-drive, battery , suspensions and brakes, I mean, I can't pay 35 grand for a box on wheels?
If this comes to India, it'll be a runaway hit with us sensible people. Lexus has been more popular than Volvo in my observation even in the short time it's been here.
Matt’s reviews on abroad carmakers are always fair. He does not say things to discredit non-European or non-UK cars. He’s loyal and he’s objective compared to his German fellow from Autogefühl Thomas Maszjack.
Thomas is a manipulative hypocrite. And Matt works for VW like everyone else, look at the video titles, Audi always has "coolest" or something like that in the title while competitors like BMW have "ugliest" or something like that in the title.
GeorgeΧ. Thomas was fine before but now he’s too much on German cars. Nothing bad to talk about your country’s cars. But don’t make reviews to discredit other cars over German’s. That’s not professional. I used to watch Thomas all the time but now it’s boring. But still I am a subscriber and notification light on.
Mgoblagulkablong You are right. At the commencement Thomas’ reviews were very well-balanced mentioning the best and worst sides of the cars. The last time I watched him reviewing fairly a Lexus was the last time I heard him saying positive things. But months after he’s stated discredit the Lexus that has beaten all German cars in term of reliability, comfort and environment friendly. I never wanted watching his biased reviews. Plus he used to talk about animals skin used in cars but as German carmakers use more animals skin in their premium cars Thomas stop talking about it and he even never talked about Mercedes, VW, Audi and BMW poisoning the environment with their NOx.
The entire point of a CVT is to drone, which is why it's so baffling when even motor journalists complain about it. Why would you want your CVT to simulate the drawbacks of a traditional transmission?
You didnt check out the trunk size? Because its smaller in size than the trunk of toyota yaris... Yeah you heard me right. This crossover SUV has a smaller trunk than a yaris.
The poll is not really representative. People interested in this car click on this video and it will affect the ratings. Matt, you're the first that says there will be a new CT. It have read the UX was the successor.
I love the work lexus are doing with their more recent cars!
Lexus is putting in serious work !
Cheedee O. Late work 😂😂
designing electric razor heads and applying them as car grilles.
Lexus is always taking risks in their designs , this looks much better than the dull German cars . It certainly stands out
LOL, if you want something that stands out, buy a sports car. Japanese cars for whatever reason are mostly made up of awful designs. At least the reliability makes up for the lack of appeal.
To begin with most people are happy to just get to point A to B without too much fuss. If you're not into cars then a Toyota is a very wise choice: reliable and fuel efficient.
Or a Lexus LFA.... proof that Lexus can make nice cars :p
Germans are boring old.
Too true it stands out....and not in a good way. What a fucked up design language. Only Fanbois think this is good.
Spinning Mat >> Stationary Mat
My husband and I are very excited about the UX release. The F sport look is definitely luxury especially the interior.
In my opinion, Lexus' interior design has always been better than its German competitors, I used to dislike the grille design but it's kinda grown on me
Nuhan Hidayat the interior is so BMW
Agree
Interior design is better until you switch on the infotainment system: hello 1998!
You must be kidding.
Lexus has made better cars than the Germans since they created the Lexus brands. The last 5 years have seen Lexus make better looking cars than the Germans.
Looks gorgeous. I love it. So they've got reliability AND looks.
"It's kinda dark in the back..."
That's what tinted windows do, Einstein!
UX is the best looking one! Of course, got to test drive to find out which one is better!
I think the front is gorgeous. I think it might be Lexus’s most attractive model aside from the ultra premium sedan and coupes.
Beautiful
lexus rx lx ?
If you see this car in all black, just wow 🤩🤩
i like that the interior took design cues from the lc 500
This car looks so classy! The interior and design made me think it was going to be midsize competitor and not a subcompact.
Nice, I like the NX design as well.
You've been in a tinted car, it is going to be darker at the back. Also quite small windows there.
Love it ... Lexus a brand you can trust
The '19 Lexus UX SUV looks aggressive, sleek, and muscular. Grr.
Lexus always do its best.
And Mat,you're always handsome
The Hybrid model is the way to go 👍
This looks promising. I did buy an NX the first year it was out, but I only kept it one year...it was a bit to slow compared to other competitors in the same class, and the road noise was excessive. Great video, we did not see the back of the car in any single frame. Well done
Awesome design
Lexus is gonna annihilate it’s German competitors in the years to come, if they keep improving this way. I can’t wait to see what the next generation of the NX will be like. I’d get one any day over the X3 or Q5, considering it’s great reliability.
Oh my, this is a some sexy design, Love latest lexus designs, they are not afraid of trying something new, even COSMIC DESIGN
Did you mean to sound like Alan Partridge at 0:11? 😂
I'm falling in love with it😍😂
Matty, could you stop being this adorable,I can’t stand it anymore!!!
Interesting. I am not a huge fan of the styling, but it’s certainly a lot better than the NX.
At the rate LEXUS and VOLVO are beautifully evolving their exterior designs, Audi and BMW have some serious catching up to do.
for example a simple mazda 3 2005 looks still damn futuristic (if clean)
Top 11 things actually. The Check Mark LED light on the head lights are up side down
Wait, I thought the UX was supposed to take the place of the CT?
I'm a true Lexus fan and I love the quality of the Toyota products. But these Toyota fanboys make me cringe so hard, literally the only thing they know are some studies by consumer reports LOL. Go get a life and don't judge people who prefer German or Swedish cars...

freshklinki93 Couldn't agree more!

freshklinki93 well swedish and german cars are trash .
freshklinki93 yep, i feel you bro.
What an abomination, those wheel arches are taking the piss.
why do some people call others fanboys when other people's opinions differs? all brands exist because they have their own buyers,
to each his own.....peace
Best in his class. Especially the innovative technology.
Wow the Lexus hands down looks better wow
the interior is beautiful, the exterior is suspect.......but subjective of course
I like the look of this Lexus it looks so luxurious.
Upcoming CT? What do you know?
Does the center console wobbles?
i think if you spec white, the volvo is the best looking, recently the whole range of volvos is good looking
Just out of interest what was the thing sticking out behind the steering wheel? Looks rather out of place...?
A luxurious C-HR.. Lovely!
Hasan Türkoğlu just like an Audi A3 is a Golf in a hat. An Audi TT is a beetle in a skirt
Different look, better engine, and bigger too. Toyota did a grear job with the CHR sibling.
It does look great - different, and if the engine really is that efficient, then it may well make good sense too.

Very well done Lexus
You put the Volvo into the voting options too, so the title must be "cooler than anything germanic" not just german since you included a swedish one too ;)
watson bro u simply awesome in explaining
why not 2.0 turbo from nx? what would be much better
The reviewer gets some pocket money from German manufactures
Lexus's designs are always very bold but because of this they don't age very well. After a few years their german rivals still look quite elegant but Lexus's just start to look a bit like an old episode of tomorrows world
Lexus is always the Best to me
Id never thought I would ever say this... but the Volvo is the prettiest of the bunch...
So I guess this will be replacing the CT, cool
where did you buy that sweter?
When can we expect the first test drive review of this car?
Did you get a chance to look at the review now?
11. It'll be more reliable than anything German.
That cityscape is Melbourne Australia!!!
small SUVs have lots of fans now
Would you mind to tell us more about engine, transmission, e-drive, battery , suspensions and brakes, I mean, I can't pay 35 grand for a box on wheels?
Damn, looks pretty good.
Can you do a video review on the 18 plate Toyota GT86
If this comes to India, it'll be a runaway hit with us sensible people. Lexus has been more popular than Volvo in my observation even in the short time it's been here.
I thought the CT was axed and replaced with this?
Love this car
Don’t like the newer exterior and interior designs, except for the ls500
Lexus needs to make a crossover version of the GX
Are you doing a video on the new 508?
And what about the new Peugeot 508 ????? This is the REAL deal of the 2018 Geneva Motor Show !!!
Soon the grille is going to just be the whole front of the car lol

Best car reviewers on RUclips imo are "savagegeese" and "Alex on Autos"
wow, so there is also a new CT coming. Great news.
Seems as if Lexus designers have been hanging out with and getting their inspiration from designers of the Civic Type R
Hands down Lexus.!!
Can that inverted bow tie grill get any bigger? It has an odd shaped wheel well. The design will eventually warm up.
please review Lexus UX
what are those 2 cylinder at top dashboard?
It’s a small crossover it’ll never be cool, sorry. I like the grille though!!
Is anyone going to talk about the headlights looking exactly like a corollas?
The entire point of a CVT is to drone, which is why it's so baffling when even motor journalists complain about it. Why would you want your CVT to simulate the drawbacks of a traditional transmission?
Love both exterior and interior
Review the CT200H PLEASE😬
Certainly is a busy car with a lot going on inside and out. Darth Vader would love a black one.
Lol they’re not letting go of that huge grill
Why does the video description say lexus NX?
Looks nice
Those fins look like that 80s car.
Mazda CX-5 from the side?
You didnt check out the trunk size? Because its smaller in size than the trunk of toyota yaris... Yeah you heard me right. This crossover SUV has a smaller trunk than a yaris.
Hey Mat, where's 508 report?
Does it look like a subaru xv a bit?
A little bit more grill and we could do a barbecue
Girl at 0:43 had her eyes on Mat 👀
Ohh please have apple CarPlay and android auto
Hey the caption is off. UX not NX
Mat always looks good. That Lexus and that new design language... is a big big NO NO.
Why the hell you want me to register to your site for comparing cars ?
is this the new nx?
francis2339 no it sits under the NX.
