Mickey Mouse is a 3-year-old mixed-breed with bulldog features that loves to cuddle. He will show unlimited affection to his owner and is chill around other dogs, but prefers calmer dogs like himself.
Mickey Mouse is heartworm positive. Heartworm disease is spread via a mosquito bite between animals, but animals on heartworm prevention are not contagious. Mickey Mouse has started the pre-treatment for heartworm disease and will need to be fostered until the completion of treatment. For foster program eligibility: you must live within 35 miles direct route from our facility, have a valid form of identification and proof of rabies vaccination for other dog, cats or ferrets of household. All cost associated with the animal during the foster period including treatment are covered by Animal Services. As soon as heartworm treatment is complete, Mickey Mouse can officially become part of your family.

Adoptable animals are vaccinated for rabies and other common diseases, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and have received heartworm and flea prevention while at the shelter. Dogs are tested for heartworm disease and cats for feline leukemia and FIV. All Sumter County residents will receive a free County tag for their new pet!
