Here is my take: I am succesful now because of him. But he is very long in his teachings. I could explain in 10x faster than ICT would. Thats my only critisism. What I love about ICT is his character. He is devoted to god, he never showed a flashy lifestyle, and put in the work every day, every week. He does has a bit of a ego, like he invented trading. But I cant deny his impact either.

Paradigm shift that Micheal thought me was: time comes first and then price. Go in the charts and study. That's the red pill. Second: to be consistent, make sure your mind is balanced, be extremely disciplined, take your time, be patient and the market will come to you, no matter what strategy.

One helpful concept is to understand that price moves by to things , liquidity and imbalance-rebalance , basically price it's gonna look for liquidity and then pullback to fill the imbalances in the range , to after this look for liquidity again.

Yup. Price moves from liquidity to liquidity to imbalance, picking up orders and rebalancing price action. That realization plus knowing the importance of time AND price when trading made a huge difference for me.
All roads lead back to ICT. There’s lots of information to go through. The key is using the information he’s given to you and putting your model together. Even though he does supply you with ready to use ones. For me it’s understanding the weekly range. Breaking that down to Daily Classic Buy/Sell templates and executing using 2022 mentorship model within kill zones.

One of many things that opened my eye while studying his free and paid material since 2016, is that in a price swing if you plot a Fibonacci retracemeant on the price swing that very often the price gaps (fair value gaps) form near key levels and often just above in buys ( and just below in sells) to what he calls order blocks.
I wish RUclips would also sharing of charts so I could just show this visually. But try and see if you don't find the same thing on your charts.
my personal experience with ICT was after i studied him for a month I was able to pass my first funded account. and actually also got paid. I think what he teaches is high level and the soul of smart money other people trying to mimic him and be a SMC guru should just instead be a good student of him get in line and not to try to take his seat. He is the king and he came forth in 2022 to take his throne which was his rightfully so. And yup that did upset a bunch of well fakes.

It is a game changer... great video! It was my same thoughts learning about ICT. And as soon as I heard him speak I resonated with him. I'm glad I stuck to this and learned from ICT.
Really a good video, in my opinion you could not have said it better, I have been studying ICT for a couple of weeks and I have improved the way I see the market, it has helped me eliminate the noise and focus on being more patient and waiting for the market to come back to me to execute my entry. well said in this video

This is just me. Same way I learnt about ICT, same way I've been trading SMT for 2 years before finally going to check him out fully, same way I was stunning with what I found out, same way I got the missing piece.
You literally did and said all what was on my mind. ICT is goated no doubt, and for those who don't like him, are mostly people that make paid courses from his concepts and don't exactly make money from the market.
I learnt from Phantom and l am making money . My trading buddy learnt from ICT and he also appreciates my skill . It doesn't matter who taught you . Can you make money ?

before you spend any more time with ICT, check out Vinny Emini, and what he found out about ICT, ofc ofc im a shill in your eyes, but I myself was once an ICT fan, until I came across forum where its proven, beyond a shadow of doubt, that ICT manipulates stats, and in fact, hasnt made a dime trading (sry i cant post a link due to YT censhorship, but look on Vinny's channel, be objective)
I've found ICT early in my journey, but I wasn't ready. I dove in to the mentorship and the charts the last 4 months. I've found alot of confidence in my analysis now.

The reason of missing trades useing SMC is there's a scale of importance of PD array's and breakers , mitigations , fvg's , volume imbalances , are much important than an OB in a price range , that's why price might not reach the initial OB , because price has many previous important levels to react and don't need to achive the ob.
Can you let me know what PD Array's are? He talked about it in the Mentorship, and I don't know what it is. I appreciate it!
It’s premium and discount arrays. ICT put 2016 mentorship on his channel, basic concept of it is in month 1

Dude you are right on the money ... I've been looking at price action since the 90s, not necessarily trading since that point, but looking at it through the lens of many instructors...GANN, Bradley Cowen, Micheal Jenkins, and even though I found merit in all of them I never really understood price action until I came upon ICT concepts. Honestly, I don't know if the man is really a legit millionaire or if he actually trades, all I know is that I actually see his ICT concepts pan out at least 80-90% of the time. I mean just knowing that the market flows from liquidity to liquidy or imbalance is just such an amazing concept. It legit works, when that sell-side or buy-side liquidity is hit those markets turn around and hightail it in the other direction as if the market makers encountered a fracking lion in the Savannah...LOL, I don't know what beef ICT has with this Vinny Emini character but I don't care...ICT is teaching for free...what is that bozo Vinny doing selling another freaking useless indicator that may or may not predict market action at $400 a pop monthly....GTFOH
One point you mentioned of incorporating ICT concepts as added confluence, i did it to my strike rates increased when I combined ICT with my setup,,I trade indices BTW. He is incredible, cutting out fake guru noices is very imp, peeps don't appreciate free stuff

Fair value gap is the same as window of imbalance in SMC , its taught in Phantom . TBH my friend learnt from ICT and l learnt from SMC . we actually enjoy trading with each other .

Phantom learnt from ICT. Don't get it twisted. The word Smart money came from ICT's Lesson 1 video where he was explaining how the markets work but they will never give him the credit. SMC came from ICT but they create division in order to sell their courses.
fair value gap is a stolen concept called wide bar fill, originated from 80s, look into it, ICT hasnt brought nothing new to table, nor has he ever shown profitable track record, only dream selling jargon

What a banger video, although if its ok to give my 2 cents: Ive really enjoyed learning from ict, don’t let his rants get in the way of the lesson. But after taking his courses various times, all i can say is that I understand his critiques. Many just want the go-to step by step structure of the “strategy”, a finish product if you will. Unlike the other smart money gurus, ict instead provides you with the ingredients to make your own product, your own model. Thats why Ive enjoyed learning from him instead. Because after all that learning, you can take those ingredients to make something of your own, your own voice in the market. Thats all just my opinion though, let me know what you think of this. 2:00 emphasis that ICT's course didn't start off as free mentorship. It's only started being fully free this year or the last. There were free youtube videos for a long time as well tho

@ 2:41 not only because they’re switching what he’s teaching in 2022 mentorship but also his private mentorship group before he did free mentoring on youtube this year, his private mentorship had to sign a NDA. to not release anything that was taught because it was specifically for inner circle that’s why his name is like that & he warned them if they start using his concepts & switching it up in there own way & selling it to people then he was going to stop the exclusiveness of it being private & teach for free & that he did
& this is me a 19 years old male that just started trading in first time EVER in june now i consider myself a beast as i follow protocol & stay patient, i’ll say i learned it in 3-5 months non stop backtesting and forward testing EVERYDAY & even HARDER on the WEEKEND i guess learning him & first & not learning anybody else is what excelled me quicker or it’s just me try harding and having a big enough why to trade

As a novice trader, that just got into this trading business and having tested several 90%+ success rate indicators from all the other youtubers, i can FIRMLY attest there is LEGIT values in the ICT concepts. Instead of taking multiple trades with 1:1.5 RR, i am more inclined to take a single massive swing trade with the ICT concept. Tight stop loss and big returns. It's way less stressful that way. He really drives home the concept let the market come to you. Don't go chasing the market.
All the millions of people on the planet and Ict has stepped forward from the days of making phone calls to make a trade, he is the market. His knowledge is remarkable but to share it on the internet for free you people don’t know what you have in you hand anytime day or night to learn and get out of the matrix and build wealth. I find the way others explain how his concepts works help me out but you have to watch his stuff first then have it watered down especially for me.

I came from smc but ICT increased my win rate dramatically....
There's many different ways to go about it.
But only a few will ever make it tho.

ICT information is so overwhelming, so if someone wanted to learn ICT concepts, dont rush, dont pay because it is free, do a demo account back testing and forward testing(for me this is more important). Spent quality time and work hard studying it, I know that you will encounter his rants on this mentorship but for me it is a test for your patience - as we new or old traders needs patience.

it took me 6 years to get ict. Not because it was difficult but because every time I studied I rushed through the content. I actually gave up on ict but when I saw all the smart money traders coming out. I knew the source and I observed what they were doing that I wasn't doing. and it hit me. I knew what I had to do and I became profitable.
What were you doing wrong and what did you start doing right?
@@gifted4940 Well I wasn't paying attention to detail, wasn't taking notes, didn't go back in history to try to understand what markets did, didn't backtest. Even though I knew orderblock fvg imbalance pdarrays liquidity, I didn't know how to use them. So I changed my approach to study the content. I paid attention I took notes I went back in history to understand what the markets did using ict concepts, I did my backtest. And still backtest every weekend. I went from loss to profit.

@@gifted4940 🤔I understand the rush, can't blame you. try make time to backtest. Month 5 is super important!!! Eventually you will decide what works what you will use and what is not necessary. And Michael does give setups that are easy to spot. Game changer. If you make a mistake try to see what you did wrong. If you got time look for clearly paid mentorship students RUclips channels. It will definitely not only help you but also motivate you. the OTE trader is one of them.
I was wondering if anyone could answer my question . As someone with zero reading experience and understanding. I wanted to know what are the best prerequisites to understanding the content. I want to grasp the basics of trading before embarking in my ICT journey. Is something like BabyPips a good way to lay the foundational grounds for this monumental endeavour? Because a lot do tru concepts seem like they require a basic understanding of trading.

NY kill zone, liquidity grab, fair value gaps, market structure shift, swing high, swing low are the beautiful things which can make traders profitable if they get a real grasp of it. And the most beautiful I learnt from him is time and price. Last high before 8:30 and then grab of that liquidity after 8:30 and then taking entry at the FVG is the most profitable strategy for me. ICT is the best.
People need only 41 videos (2022 mentorship) to get funded. God bless ICT

Coming out of shitty Phantom to ICT was the best decision I made last year.
I emptied everything and started to apply ICT teachings. Still at loss somehow in the learning process, but i know there must be something wrong with my understanding somewhere.. looking forward to complete all his videos and make huge profits undoubtedly.

Great video, strategy hobing is always the quickest way to loose money in Forex. Find strategy that works and that has an edge on the market through back testing and stick to that strategy.

It's true ...if you don't follow the concepts you will fail. You will fail miserably. You have to follow his concepts very well inorder to be profitable.
ICT actually showed live funds and traded live about 3 times during the 2022 mentorship, he was live on RUclips during the NY KillZone taking live trades based on what he was teaching... ICT has probably the biggest impact on trading in this generation... His definitely one mount rushmore of trading ... 😉

what is your strike rate now and your average rr on weekly basis and average number of trades. i m also trying ict but gets distracted my 10r 20r trade post done by some people in a day
Stop following the people that distract you. My average RR per trade has been 1:3, with a closer to 60% SR

I don’t think ICT was the first person to find this strategy. It’s a clear pattern that repeats itself over and over again and I saw it immediately when I started day trading and tripled my account the first 3 months trading using the 5 minute chart. But that’s also how I learned math growing up. I was always sick and absent 80 days a year and would look at the example at the beginning of every chapter in my math book and figure it out. I guess I did the same thing with trading. Unfortunately, psychology kicked my but and took away the profits and I had to watch tons of videos and read books on psychology to fix that.

Before you learn of those real institutional tools you need to learn AMT Auction Market Theory, and stop listening to forex gurus, go to the futures educators, you want to know how the markets really work, learn AMT, that's the base for learning the DOM, footprint and vol profile
ICT Will make you Lough 😃and learn at the same time, sometimes I have to put the videos on play to sleep easily,With ICT you know when to go to the market and when to leave,where to enter and where exit no noises one thing he doesn't focus on is probabilities and he is too precise also .
Everything clicked when I watch few videos of ICT. I've been trading since the beggining of 2020 and i wasn't profitable but because of ICT I'm unstoppable. Just to give you a glimse of the trades I take this week i lost only ONE Out of 10 and 1 breakeven.
I learned a lot of things from ICT like the power of 3 ,new york midnight open , judas swing and SMT.and i can say it was a game changer for me!
Those were my favourite adds onto my trading (only haven't looked into SMT in that list) 💪💪

There are windows of time during each session where the big moves tend to happen, yes, no big science, more volume. The rest is cherry picking. I haven't found any pattern in those windows that repeats enough to give some statistical edge over time. It sounds attractive, but markets are not as predictable as he says.
