i used to eat the Avril conspiracy theory up until i was diagnosed with lyme disease. i don’t even recognize myself physically and mentally. it changes you. so glad to see her back in the industry and doing well. her story is inspiring 💚💚💚
i’m so sorry ❤️ but it’s the change from 2002 -2004 that a of people are putting attention to, the albums/vibe just everything changes drastically it’s like a different person! she was diagnosed with lyme in 2015!
This rumor started long before she had Lyme disease. It was rumored that she died by suicide in 2003 because her grandpa died. The rumor resurfaced in 2017, a couple years after she was diagnosed.

Even then, people DO change their styles. Multiple artists have done it. One good example is Taylor Swift. She was full-on country at the beginning of her career, before shifting into full pop, then she went folk. ME! and cardigan were made one year apart and sound completely different. Do you suspect Taylor had a double?

Something that shook me to my core was an article that said “Avril” had posted a Mother’s Day post on IG and claimed she hung out with her but later that same week her mom was posting about how much she misses Avril. I know a lot about doubles. Like there have been 3 or 4 Hillary Clintons, Theres currently 2 People acting like Joe Biden (Real one is dead like hillary), Britney Spears has had atleast 1 or 2 doubles throughout her life, Lavigne isnt dead but uses a double in her career at times. The Beatles all had doubles and McCartney was swapped and killed. DOnald Trump uses a close double as well. Were talking prostetics, masks, CGI, deepfakes, A.I Voice, even human cloning.

I thought it was such a wild conspiracy when I saw the Avril one. I love her and her music. She's been iconic since day one. I know she was diagnosed with Lyme disease and wrote Head Above Water and Warrior about her experience. I don't think it's someone else that's her. But it's an interesting concept. Is it possible that everything gets scrubbed because rather than say fighting the conspiration, Avril would rather just remove it from online to avoid press? 🤔

There’s a similar conspiracy about Paul McCartney from the Beatles. That he died in a car crash at the early peak of their success and was replaced with a look alike. So the Paul we’ve always know has been a replacement look alike.
What is maybe Avril is her alter ego and Melissa was her real name but we never knew because they hit it and since she became famous before the Internet they were able to legally change your name without anyone knowing it

I don't want to believe the conspiracy BUT, I was a huge fan of Avril when she released her first album, however after that first album I never listened to her music again. Something changed and I just didn't vibe with her music or her anymore and I was uninterested but still loved her first album. I only heard about this conspiracy a few years ago and it rocked me. I don't want to believe it but something definitely changed wayy back at the beginning. I really hope it's not true xx

Yup, New Yorker here. 1-2 times a month someone gets pushed onto the tracks , subway surfs and gets hurt or someone gets stabbed randomly on the train. I refuse to take my kids out of fear of them witnessing anything. If we have to take the train, we stand back to a wall. No one will walk behind us. Many unhinged people roam the train stations…

I also know Avril has had health issues and divorce and other issues so I think naturally she changed over time. As a native NYer. Manny was giving me life with all of his traumatic stories lmao. I feel bad for laughing but the way he was telling them was so o.d. 😂. I've heard this conspiracy a few times. My thoughts are that MAYBE a girl was hired to look like her at some events because she was uncomfortable in the public eye. But I don't think that person actually sang or made music in Avrils place. And I don't think Avril died. When any celebrity dies that news spreads like wildfire......even before the age of social media. As far her voice/style changing, I think that is due to age. Vocal cords change over time. No one in their 20's and 30's sounds the way they did at 16. And most everyone's style is different as well. Also, I don't know of many stars who haven't had work done on their face. Most of them look a lot different than when they were a teen. It's pretty crazy this conspiracy has gone this long though! Great episode......as always!
