So when it comes to sitcoms that deal with serious or mature themes such as child abuse of racial discrimination, there generally tends to be almost no laugh tracks present during scenes that were supposed to be tragic. As a result, when we see something like a woman getting abused by her boyfriend, the added laugh track adds a nice contrast that's both hilarious and also very dark with or without context.

Which makes them an easier target to those who can do acts that may hurt/badly damage a child’s mental and physical state. Thus giving a new type of abuse called Child abuse. Which is harassing/hurting a child and taking advantage of said child’s weakness for what an individual would want. Even as to simply stealing a child’s candy knowing that it cant fight back or do anything may be considered as taking advantage of that child’s abilities (though not really that much of a severe offense) Its important to know that some people consider “beating” as a “disciplinary measure.” And tbh i don’t know whether it is abuse or not, though one thing’s for certain, beating may lead to a lot of mental illnesses (like anxiety, paranoia and etc.) for the child. Same goes for continuously lashing out of anger on the child, i dont know whether you can consider it as an abuse, though it still may lead to a lot of problems on the child’s mind and body. Whats described in the show seems to be child abuse, as because the way the kid described it, the father didnt really have any other reason for beating the child, other than to let out his anger and taking advantage of the kid’s lack of physical skill (thus an abuse) Sorry for the long and nerdy text, I hope that you arent actually being abused haha *note this is how i view what abuse is, i really have no say or special authority to say stuff like this. sitcoms are notorious for fake or unnecessarily obnoxious laugh tracks during scenes that obviously failed to be funny even on their own. So when it comes to sitcoms that deal with serious or mature themes such as child abuse of racial discrimination, there generally tends to be almost no laugh tracks present during scenes that were supposed to be tragic. As a result, when we see something like a woman getting abused by her boyfriend, the added laugh track adds a nice contrast that's both hilarious and also very dark with or without context.

Abuse in general is simply taking advantage of a certain thing or person. Examples of abusing something are like drug abuse, alcohol abuse and etc. in which a person “takes advantage” of what that substance/object may bring to them. Using those as a sort of way to “escape” their sadness, or reality in general
Abusing a person/individual is a different case, examples of it are
Verbal abuse - where people use the vulnerability or an individual’s weakness to let out their anger in a verbal manner
Physical abuse - where people use the vulnerability or an individual’s weakness to let out their anger in a physical manner
Sexual abuse - Involves sexual/physical acts that are not consensual (meaning that is either forced, and etc.) examples would be rape, unwanted physical touches and etc.
Harassment - While not exactly abuse, it may be considered as a violation of rights and etc. an example would be catcalling, bullying and etc. (harassment _may be considered_ as a type of abuse as it is litterally is taking advantage of a certain person’s weakness to do such acts)
All of these are quite common in children as because of their lack of knowledge of what exactly is right and wrong, and also their lack of physical skill. Which makes them an easier target to those who can do acts that may hurt/badly damage a child’s mental and physical state. Thus giving a new type of abuse called Child abuse. Which is harassing/hurting a child and taking advantage of said child’s weakness for what an individual would want. Even as to simply stealing a child’s candy knowing that it cant fight back or do anything may be considered as taking advantage of that child’s abilities (though not really that much of a severe offense)
Its important to know that some people consider “beating” as a “disciplinary measure.” And tbh i don’t know whether it is abuse or not, though one thing’s for certain, beating may lead to a lot of mental illnesses (like anxiety, paranoia and etc.) for the child. Same goes for continuously lashing out of anger on the child, i dont know whether you can consider it as an abuse, though it still may lead to a lot of problems on the child’s mind and body. Whats described in the show seems to be child abuse, as because the way the kid described it, the father didnt really have any other reason for beating the child, other than to let out his anger and taking advantage of the kid’s lack of physical skill (thus an abuse)
