Just because Rhom was the "last" king of Hyrule doesn't mean he will be the final king of Hyrule just that there hasn't been one since him. This could also be taken as him assuming/believing that Hyrule as it was will never be again since it was shattered by the Calamity but this doesn't prevent the kingdom from being reconstituted or a new kingdom created from its ashes.
I read this and as soon as I got to "HEYYAAAAH" it sounded like a combination of the volume and bass of the THX sound with all the unholy noise of every HEYYAAAAH weve ever heard in this goddess-forsaken series.
Link: As my first act as king I demand to have all of the pottery in the entire kingdom to be brought to my chambers immediately Servants: But my liege why would you wa- Link: I HAVE SPOKEN!!!
For all intents and purposes, she has been. Twilight Princess, Spirit Tracks, Breath of the Wild, Link to the Past and some more, she was the only known/surviving member of the Royal Family/ and was the power behind the throne. In Twilight Princess especially, the guards are very deferential and loyal to her, fighting a battle they know they will lose. Perhaps she’s never held the title, but she’s held the power before.
I mean depending on the story being told in which the King dies she technically is the Queen just not officially coronated into the role. But the stories start out with her being princess, so it makes sense refer to her as such at the start of the tale.
OoT Zelda caused Ganondorf's reign in OoT, the flood in the Adult Timeline, and Ganondorf's acquisition of the Triforce of Power in the Child Timeline. BotW Zelda bet everything on an army of Daleks.
I wasn’t! Have you noticed that complaints about the quality of homes in Castle Town stopped during my 7 year reign? Crime, homelessness, and unemployment dropped in Castle Town. I was a great king.
I feel like I should mention this, in the German dub Zelda explains that both her mother and her grandmother possessed the sacred power. It could be a translation error on either the German or the English team but I'm not sure because I don't speak Japanese and I couldn't find a good translated version of the scene in the spring of power to confirm this.
Yeah I was indeed made aware that there are apparantly some clashing translations. I wish these localisation teams would stop messing with the lore sometimes. It makes it even more confusing. Just translate it as it is originally written xD.
Monster Maze At 3:08, it mentions that Zelda’s mother possessed the sacred power as well. That’s why the queen was supposed to tutor Zelda (she wouldn’t be able to teach something she doesn’t have). The king also mentions this in his diary. So the power went from her grandmother to her mother to herself. It’s possible the king is a king consort and married into the family or the goddess bloodline is able to weave in and out of royalty (the power goes only to female descendants and will eventually pop back up potentially in a female not in the reigning royal family and she marries back in ie distant distant cousins)
@@MonsterMaze it's also mentioned in the French version that the queen had sacred powers and that she was supposed to teach her daughter how to use it. I also remember that the king only knew that the queen went to pray to the 3 sacred springs for her training so that why he send zelda to do the same in hope it would awaken her power, but we all know it didn't really work as intended 👀
I’m pretty sure that in breath of the wild it is mentioned that Zelda’s mother passed away before she could begin training Zelda in using her goddess powers.
I don't play Zelda (kinda getting in to it thus is why I'm here) but wouldn't the mother which would be named Zelda be able to seal demise away or you know make sure he can't get out before she dies
So even if zeldas mother didn't carry the blood of the goddess, she could of learned how to awaken it from her mother in law to teach her daughter. Also, the book creating a hero states zelda is the goddess reborn. No simply a girl with the blood of the goddess. Its possible all the females posses this power but only one is truly the goddess reborn. Her power is probably the strongest. This is a curse placed on the original link and zelda by a demon God. How would is be a curse if hylia isn't forced into reincarnation eith link when demise's hatred it reborn?
I would love to see both Link and Zelda in a position of power, the pair most responsible for the future protection and restoration of Hyrule. It could make a really great ending for Botw2.
I do question how long 2 would be. And how much time has passed between 1 and 2. So we wouldn’t be sure if there would be enough time to settle the matters of Zelda translating from Princess to Queen. BUT, that doesn’t mean the story can’t continue. Like after the defeating of Ganondorf reborn, there can be a sequel making this a trilogy. And the last game has Hyrule try to regain power, get to see an enemy or army of foreign lands invade Hyrule to rule the lands, and THAN we see the transfer of powers so that Zelda can become Queen. Making Hyrule regain its status of a kingdom. Could also see the height of Zelink shipping there and get that wedding at the end.
BotW made Zelda become an actual character, as opposed to a damsel in distress like god forsaken Peach. But why am I saying this? Because it’s true. And because BotW is awesome.
Link bein' a king who was born as a commoner (a citizen who wasn't nobility or royalty). In French, Kass says that Link's gonna rule over Hyrule with Zelda. Maybe he meant that the lowborn commoner who was a knight's son (and a big bro to a lil' sis who's dead) is gonna be the first king of Hyrule in many years. With Zelda as his beloved wifey AND his queen. Paya said somethin' about supportin' their relationship. Urbosa said somethin' about the late queen havin' it easy with Link (the Average Joe who was part of the lowborn society as a commoner, not an aristocrat) havin' Zelda (the monarchs' precious daughter) in his care. In Japanese AND Russian, Link's got HIS perspective in all the entries (with his imput bein' canonical), with the entries havin' his thoughts, his new experiences, his amazement with the giant horse's power (which he said was so cool), becomin' one with the Master Sword after the Trial of the Sword (in a way that he could fin'lly use its full power the way he couldn't be allowed to 100 years earlier), AND his concerns with Zelda's safety. She fell in love with him after he saved her life by killin' the Yiga assassin who was gonna murder her (knockin' that sickle outta his right hand at the same time), an' gettin' the other two ta run away. Call it rescue romance 'cuz she fell in love with her rescuer. She started seein' that he had his struggles with his fate as the champ. They was havin' the shared destiny they never asked fer. Their relationship had the friendship, then the romance blossomed. Now he was determined to be the princess's rescuer again. By beatin' Calamity Ganon both times, he stopped the Calamity, freed Zelda (so she'd seal the beast away), an' then reunited with her face-to-face fer the first time in 100 years. He got his wish when he saw her smile again with his eyes. He's gotta be like, "I gotta get Zelda outta there real quick, 'cuz I wanna see her smile again with my own eyes."
I never saw link and Zelda a couple . I always saw link as a protector of the hylian people. I kinda like that the games don’t force them to be together as a couple
When people make the argument that Zelda and link create incest forget that only Zelda is reincarnated through blood, link is only reincarnated as a spirit so it’s a different person each time basically
Only just barely related to your comment, but I've been mulling this over since I played BotW. It's just that, I've always thought Link was the only one who reincarnated in the series. Each Zelda carries the blood of the Goddess, but it doesn't say anything about the spirit/soul of the Goddess. I think the sealing power is more of an inherited thing than a reincarnation thing. I could be completely wrong though. But in Spirit Tracks, Zelda prays to Tetra, who was also a Zelda, so they must be different people. And in Breath of the Wild, Zelda prays to Hylia, and Link can commune with Hylia at the Shrines (while Zelda is trapped in the castle). If the first Zelda was a mortal incarnation of Hylia, then all the other Zelda's would also have to be Hylia if they are reincarnated, but that doesn't seem to be the case. What do you think?
@@jessicabrauman *It's just that, I've always thought Link was the only one who reincarnated in the series.* Demise, Link, and Zelda, all experience reincarnation. They just happen to experience it differently, because their fundamental natures are different. Zelda, unlike Link, is a goddess incarnated into a mortal vessel. Link is not the vessel of any gods. Instead, Link's reincarnation is directly tied to the existence of both Zelda and the Master Sword. Demise's reincarnations occur via the sheer power of his own hatred for Zelda and Link. *Each Zelda carries the blood of the goddess, but it doesn't say anything about the spirit/soul of the goddess.* That is because goddesses, in most fictional portrayals, do not have souls. They are unlike mortals, in this regard. The spirit of the goddess is, well, the goddess herself. The implication you are trying to draw here is that "the spirit of the goddess" is a part of the goddess herself, but not the entirety of what 'makes up' the goddess, but that is not really how it works. The concept instead works similarly to how the Holy Trinity works in Christianity. In Christianity, the idea is that the single God that exists is comprised of three distinct persons, all sharing in the same "godly essence" that defines their godhood. There is only one godly essence, hence only one God, but three persons share in this essence: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, where the Son refers to Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is an incarnation of God, the incarnation of God, much like how Zelda is the incarnation of Hylia. Jesus Christ is human, and so he has blood, and the concept of a bloodline is legitimate here, but he is also just fully God, meaning that his very essence is that of God. The same applies with Zelda: despite being human, she fully shares from the essence of Hylia. Since Zelda, as a human, has blood, and a bloodline, her (female) descendants carrying that blood also fully share in the essence of Hylia, making them incarnations of Hylia. This means that each Zelda is indeed a reincarnation of Hylia, but this is reincarnation via rebirth, not reincarnation via bodily-possession. Only the first Zelda was a reincarnation via bodily-possession, the rest are reincarnated via rebirth. I know this is confusing. This is only made more confusing by the fact that Link's reincarnation is actually not via bodily-possession either, contrary to what many people believe. This misunderstanding occurs because people misunderstand the plot of Skyward Sword. People think the Hero of the Skies, Link, was a reincarnation of the ancient hero who fought alongside goddess Hylia against Demise during the Era of the Goddess. But that is not the case. If you pay attention to the game, the original hero and the Hero of the Skies are the same person: the Hero of the Skies traveled back in time, in-game, and actually became that original hero. So, what exactly made him the Hero? Well, the point of the game is that his soul was forged to turn him into a Hero, and the Master Sword was forged alongside him. By forging his soul, he imbued his soul with essential qualities of power, wisdom, courage, and this all required purifying his soul as well. This endowed his "spirit" with those innate qualities. Any subsequent Link is born with those qualities, has a close relationship to Zelda in some form, and is predestined to be a hero in some form or other due to those qualities. These are the qualities a person needs to be able to pull and wield the Master Sword. *But in Spirit Tracks, Zelda prays to Tetra, so they must be different people.* Describing it as 'prayer' is a little inaccurate, it was more like she merely asked for guidance. Also, yes, they were different *people,* but they are both Hylia: via their blood, they share the same essence, just as how in Christianity, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are not the same person, but are still the same "God." Zelda and Tetra are *different incarnations* of the *same being.*
Honestly I'm fairly sure that the Royal family of hyrule is matriarchal, ie Queen is a higher title than king who is typically the consort and a ruling king doesn't have a queen but rather a 'princess consort'. I mean, what better reason to have women rule that, yanno Sacred Power inherited from a goddess that only appears in females! (Didn't BotW Zelda say that her mother had told her 'my own power will awaken within you' and was the one who was supposed to teach her to use her sealing power because she was the only other living person who had it? I always assumed it was BotW Zelda's Father who married into the family and was Royal consort and simply acted as a regent until his daughter was of age and mastered her sealing power. Most of the time when we see a king of hyrule the current Zelda is too young to take the throne after all)
Yeah I think that’s most likely as well, especially since in the german dub Zelda says that both her mother and grandmother had the sacred power that was then passed down to her
@@John-cena6483 WHY is it, that every time someone shows affection for a girl nowadays, they're always called a simp? Being attracted to a woman IS NOT SIMPING FOR THE FUCKING LOVE OF CHRIST
Really interesting video! just as an extra note though, I think we can all stop calling Zelda x Link zelink. Nintendo got so sick of our shit with lazy ship names and so they just gave us one. Silent princess? I mean come on. That is just a perfect ship name.
Yeah, Im usually not a big fan of this whole "put half of 2 names together" thing they do. It also annoyed me with the whole "Raylo" stuff in Star Wars. But its become such an integrated term in the fandom now... its hard to bring in a new one haha
Monster Maze yeah, I just use silent princess when I’m talking about linkxZelda and if people get confused i explain it. It makes it seem like I know what I’m talking about and it’s the accepted term even though it’s not.
The Queen in BotW did have the sealing power. At 3:07 Creating a Champion says "The queen herself possessed those sacred powers and was to tutor Zelda in its awakening and use, but when Princess Zelda was six, the queen did suddenly before she was able to paas on her knowledge." And in Zelda's diary she mentions how she lost both a mother and a teacher.
It would be interesting to see Zelda as a Queen, or maybe have both a Queen Zelda and a Princess Zelda in the same game, I assume they all have the same name of Zelda since we've never seen or heard otherwise.
Thats.. actually correct. According to the manual for Link:legend of Zelda 2... that games Zelda's brother makes it hylian law that all women born Into the royal family are to be named Zelda. So none may forget the tragedy of his sister being put into eternal slumber. While that is technically in the downfall timeline, at least by the manual it had happened long before..
I'm not sure if it's the same either in english or japanese, but in the latin spanish BOTW, in the king's diary he mentions that his daugther was called "Zelda" because it's the tradition to give that name to the females in the royal family.
Didn't she rule in TP? We never actually heard about a king in TP and also she's the one who surrendered to Zant (except Zant and Ganondorf, of course) EDIT: nevermind mentioned at 6 minutes in. Maybe I should watch the entire video before commenting lol
Even if Zelda was ‘more powerful’ than Link, it would be impossible for her to beat him because he can slow down time until it eventually stops. His power even stops the momentum of any item in the sky and they just fall down to the ground.
Imaging it. At the end of BoTW 2, after the credits, the royal wedding takes place. Zelda is crowned queen and link king. At the very end, link speaks.
What does he say? "HYAAAHH!" Wait, let me phrase that differently. What does he say? "Excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me, princess" And then he goes of take a shit :D
I've always seen TP link as a full adult. Or at least a young adult and not a teenager which doesn't seem to be a thing in the Zelda universe. TP link comes off as in his very early 20's to me which if I recall right means he still has some growing to do physically. That is assuming the anatomy of Hylians, an obviously fictional species, is similar to ours.
I personally think the adjustments to Zelda's design hint at that being a good possibility. She's being made to look more like Link. (Also, I seem to recall a brief period when Breath of the Wild was first shown where the developers implied that the Link shown in the trailer might not be Link, which led to some speculation about playing Zelda. So it seems like the team was considering it.)
Thank you for fanning the Zelink flames. I’d absolutely love to see a royal wedding at the end of the sequel! I can just picture the sounds of trumpets and Link and Zelda dressed in royal wedding attire looking out from the observation balcony of the castle on a glorious blue sky day while massive crowds of people from all across Hyrule cheer and celebrate below. Meanwhile the petals of eternal love fall and the scene pans out as an uplifting symphonic version of Zelda’s Lullaby plays and the words “The End” fade in across the screen. Oh, am I getting too carried away? 😅
I forgot where, but it was stated that the reincarnation of Link always happens when he's needed, eg. Ganon(dorf) is revived/returns. It's destiny created by the goddesses themselves or something along those lines. It's not too far off believing that "the" Zelda always gets born/awakened when the balance of the triforce needs her, and inbetween generations there's girls born into the royal family that do not inherit the triforce of wisdom.
Zelda in spirit tracks is canonically “Princess Zelda V of New Hyrule” so there have been 3 zelda’s between her and Tetra. They didn’t get powers because it was during the peace. Not every generation needs an awakening
HappyBeezerStudios - by Lord_Mogul I don’t know if its said explicitly, but I assume Tetra is Princess Zelda the first of New Hyrule, since she arrived there and settled the land and is technically a princess zelda
About the idea of the lineage of Hylia "skipping" over different parts of the bloodline, due to how long some of the breaks between games were, it seems to me like they could have skipped over different members of the family even IF there was a woman born to the family. For example, the time period between Link's Awakening and the original Zelda was so long that it was considered an entire era of Hyrule's history. I find it extremely unlikely that there were absolutely no women born to the royal family in that time (In fact, if we knew how long it was, we could calculate it)
I know! Let’s have a contest of might and strength! The winner, who would surely kick our butts, will get to touch this legendary blade, which when pulled from this box will release of a bunch of evil spirits! No way will it get into evil hands!
I was gonna comment in the middle of the video where Zelda got the sealing power from: her mother or father. Because I could’ve sworn I read in the game that her mother was trying to teach her. Turns out, it was her grandmother. Good to see they don’t intermarry. Great video as always!
Your comment makes me wonder what kind of beer brand Ganondorf would drink... hmmm... Im going with "Desert Stallion". A nice strong beer for a fearsome desert king.
She said she wanted to restore Hyrule to it's former Glory, she technically didn't say Hyrule kingdom. Personally I hope that its a conflict in the story- will she take the thrown or peruse her own happiness? Maybe form a republic & unite everyone? & If the sequel is about destroying the Demise's curse, well then there's no real reason why she has to lead other than historical president that's ready been broken for 100 years. Personally I hope that she doesn't have to take the thrown, & that she & Link live happy lives.
I gotta agree, honestly, seeing the Republic of Hyrule or whatever would be pretty cool. It also makes me wonder how the people of Hyrule adapted to sudden anarchy. It seems like things worked out in the end, the different tribes all had chiefs and other people they trusted, but it's still a story I'd be very interested in reading...
@Fluffynator i don't think a war would make sense. Maybe a Yiga schism & war, but not between the races. I think they'd all want peace, plus the leaders of each race don't really seem like the war type. The Hylains might try something, but I think their too scattered & tired from trying to survive.
@@GarryDumblowski I think we'll learn a lot more about how the people adapted no matter what happens, bc their will be people trying to pressure Zelda into becoming Queen. I think a republic would work so well- we already see that their trying have the races interact more- the champions, Tarrytown, etc. Plus i think we'll learn more about the fucked up past of Hyrule kingdom & all the bad it's done, so I don't think they'd want to remake it.
Zelda’s mother is also mentioned in Zelda: Wind Waker. There’s even a photo of who we presume is “Tetra’s Mother.” Sure, she’s dead by the time the game starts, but she should technically be a Queen Zelda, even if she’s never called that name. Edit: I suppose Tetra’s mother could also have married into the bloodline.
Only time will tell if Zelda becomes queen of the restored Hyrule Kingdom in Breath of the Wild’s sequel. But I’m certain she and Link will be romantically involved during the sequel.
I've always wondered why Twilight Princess Zelda was still only a princess, while still being described as the ruler of the kingdom. Maybe there was no one to hold a coronation at the time, lmao. Then again, even Midna as the true ruler of the Twilight Realm is still a princess, while Zant is reffered to as a king. Idk, but Nintendo really just seems to dislike anything being titled "queen".
You've earned a new patron!! Such quality work every. single. time. Thank you for addressing topics that are very interesting and unique. I am always reminded of Urbosa's little knowing gesture and words when she tells Link "You take good care of the Princess....oh, and also /*wink*/ take good care of Hyrule." This, coming from Urbosa who is a total ZeLink shipper, implies that she would like to see Link rule the kingdom by Zelda's side. Not that Nintendo will seal the deal cuz they love to torture us, but I hope, one day we will see them as King and Queen. P.S. - Zelda's mother in BotW is said to have had the powers as well (both in game and in Creating a Champion). She sadly passed away before being able to train Zelda herself as her own mother did. We also know the Queen's name in BotW: Since all princesses born into the royal family of Hyrule are to be named Zelda, Zelda's mother would also have been named...Zelda. P.P.S. - Your voice-over work in this video with the King actually made me LoL. It's been a long time since a YT video did that. You have some great comic timing!! I look forward to your next production. "I have spoken!"
spoilers for Age of Calamity. 1:39 - 2:28 then King puts Terrako away because it’s a “children’s toy”. Which cause Hyrule fall then BOTW happened. In Age of Calamity, Terrako aided Zelda and saved Hyrule. Yep, I agree with you, the Kings are idiots.
God dang it, now I wanna see a wedding between link and Zelda at the end of BoTW2! Don't do this to me, dont get my hopes up knowing Nintendo will never fulfill it
I'm pretty sure it was explained that Zelda's mother passed away before being able to help Zelda learn how to use the power, the grandmother thing sounded like she was stronger than Zelda's mother, but I remember she was supposed to be able to use the powers too.
Maybe she becomes queen after turning 18. I don’t know how old is Zelda in the games but she seems kinda young so she is still called Princess Zelda. (except twilight princess, maybe that’s why she was close to becoming queen before the Zaint attack)
There have been situations in history where underage Kings and Queens where enthroned, but they had other people take rule until they became old enough to do it themselves. But yeah, the Zelda we see in BotW seems not only old enough (cough over 100) but also mature enough to rule. After all, she went out basically alone, throughout the land, so she isn't ha child that needs massive parenting.
Now that it is mentioned in Breath of the Wild, Zelda could be half-geredo as she could’ve been a concubine of the Emperor. She was friends with Nobusa.
I think it would be rather interesting to see a zelda game, where link and zelda are siblings after the previous reincarnations of link and zelda got married and mixed the bloodlines. Then they will go their seperate ways in the end and the next reincarnations will as they usually are.
About BOTW Queen's Powers in the Italian version Zelda says "Mia madre percepiva un grande energia mistica dentro di sé" that meens My mom felt a strong energy inside of her She also talks about her Granmother haveing Powers, Someone knows What the Japanise version says?
About the blood of the goddess, (going a bit biological here) since Hylia was a godDESS, i.e. a woman, maybe the sealing power that comes with Hylia's blood is somewhat related to the female chromosomes (the XX chromossomes) and that's why we never saw a man with the blood of the goddess, that's why it skips every man in the royal blood
I could mean there are Kings with the power, but just very rudimentary, not enough to do anything meaningful with it. Us guys also got one X chromosome.
That "gene on a sex chromosome" idea would actually only truly work for something that was male-specific, as men have both an X and a Y, while women don't typically possess Y chromosomes (some do and it's just missing the SRY gene so they never develop into men). Further, if it was X-linked, it would actually be less potent in a woman than a man, given that in every somatic cell one of the two X chromosomes is deactivated and it's largely completely random. You can see this in the fact that almost all calico cats are female, because their differing fur colors are due to x inactivation. Male calico cats are all, to a man, XXY genotype. So essentially if it was an x-linked gene, only on average half of Princess Zelda's cells would have the Goddess Gene copy activated in them, while 100% of Prince Zelda's cells would. The logic you used is very sound, it's just not based on an accurate understanding of genetics.
@Monster Maze Zelda became a queen once all the royal family died but her. Link is basically the final Queen's knight. Zelda is a Monarchist Queen, she is not yet betrothed but by order of bloodline she is the last remaining "queen" of Hyrule. P.S Her age also can be taken to account as being "old enough to take the throne" type stuff.
Nintendo: where did all of these theorists come from also Nintendo: now we have to make the game even more elusive MM: nothing can stop me I was just rewatching this cause I was bored and noticed monster maze read my comment thanks!!!!
I personally couldn't see the people of _this_ Hyrule accepting Zelda as their monarch. They've lived 100 Years without any help from any mass governing system, so I doubt they'd just up and drop their self-viewed freedom because a blueblood suddenly showed up again.
With all the deities in the Zelda universe being female I always thought TLOZ society is matriarchal (just like most of our societies have historically being patriarchal for the same reason) which means I always thought the queen holds more authority than the king, hence why those guys make poor choices, when their queen dies they have to take command and don’t really have experience or tradition for it.
Hey it's the Dutch guy! Didn't see a link to your channel on your cameo appearance. Great video, even bringing card descriptions into it, very thorough ;) I HAVE SPOKEN!
Zelda has always been a queen. Joking aside, I wanted for long time now to see her being the queen for once. And often, her parents are not even around so she should have been a queen.
Here's something I can't really grasp about the whole "blood of the goddess" thing, supposedly the royal family are the only ones who bare hylia's blood, however seeing as the timeline goes back who even knows how long, shouldn't pretty much all hylians have the blood of the goddess in some form? I mean even people like Charlemagne and Genghis khan are the ancestors of most europeans and asians and they only lived around 1000 years ago. In fact, everybody today has a common ancestor that lived around 200,000 years ago and seeing as the gap in time has allowed for fish to evolve into zora, there's a huge time difference. My guess as to why this isn't the case is that there can only be one who has hylia's power and the most recent female descendent of the previous hylia is the next one.
>Incest (queue banjos) >Abominable custom for Zelda >References Queen Elizabeth II & Prince Phillip earlier in vid >Forgot that the Queen & Prince of England are Cousins and had kids together.
It could also be that they take a different name after becoming Queen. Not uncommon for royalty to have a name change after coronation. Now, is Zelda the name they take as Queen or is it the name given at birth....
Some of my favorite fan stories is when link and zelda are just good friends, or link is her son. I like the idea that there relationship is platonic then romantic. They care about each other like family (witch link needs in some of the storylines because he's a orphan). I just can't see them getting together to have offspring. I also like the fan stories of link being ganondorfs adapted son.
Dude stop saying all this Zelink stuff. My heart can't take it! If they really marry at the end of the game I'll spend my liver for charity. And if they kiss I'll throw in a kidney for free. That's how much of a Zelink fanboy I am. :'D
When you talk about how Botw Zeldas mother not having power, I was reading creating a champion, and it says that Zeldas mother was overflowing with power.
In BotW Zelda mentions that her mother was going to teach Zelda how to use her power if she had not died before Zelda was old enough. And that is why Zelda has trouble getting her power to work.
I wonder if it's possible that the reason it seems the power skips a generation is because it can only be in one person at a time? Do we have confirmation on either of the two examples used that those versions of Zelda were born while their grandmothers still lived?
Peach too is always referred as Princess even though she is said to be the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom and doesn't seem to have any relatives alive anymore. In Mario I think the princess title means ruler of a Kingdom instead of "daughter of the kingdom's ruler so this might apply to Zelda as well. Although before there has been mentions of Peach's father as well as Daisy's father and Rosalina's father. Let's be honest Princess Zelda is an iconic name and would sound a bit weird to call her Queen. (Not that I wouldn't get used to it)
I wonder if the king's actual name is "Rhoam Bosphoramus" and the "Hyrule" was added when he married the queen of Hyrule, thus adding the country's name to his upon coronation...Therefore, Rhoam's family may not have anything to do with the blood of the goddess at all. (If this has been mentioned before, sorry for repeating)
God save our queen, Zelda of Hyrule! Stay safe anyone, and enjoy the rest of your weekend. I have spoken!

I too wish to see her as a Queen. It would be amazing to finally see our princess claim a deserved title as Queen
Indeed! And command the royal army :)
Well, she wasn't actually Queen in Twilight Princess, but she was already the Ruler of Hyrule
@Toasters 156 no. Not really.
The sad thing is it’s true all the Kings Of hyrule we’re idiots

@@ElliotKeaton an army of what?
True. I can speak german and she really does mention it
@@MonsterMaze it's also mentioned in the French version that the queen had sacred powers and that she was supposed to teach her daughter how to use it. I also remember that the king only knew that the queen went to pray to the 3 sacred springs for her training so that why he send zelda to do the same in hope it would awaken her power, but we all know it didn't really work as intended 👀
Also wasn't Zeldas mother supposed to teach her how to use her sealing power? That would mean that zeldas mother had it right?
I’m pretty sure that in breath of the wild it is mentioned that Zelda’s mother passed away before she could begin training Zelda in using her goddess powers.
Fishie Fish that’s what I thought too.
Yes it did say that
I don't play Zelda (kinda getting in to it thus is why I'm here) but wouldn't the mother which would be named Zelda be able to seal demise away or you know make sure he can't get out before she dies

I'm from the future and let me tell you, Tears of the Kingdom did nothing interesting with Zelda and Link :')
BotW made Zelda become an actual character, as opposed to a damsel in distress like god forsaken Peach.
But why am I saying this?
Because it’s true. And because BotW is awesome.
Indeed. Without Zelda, Link would be deader than dead. Vaporized by guardians :O
What bothers me is that a lot of people seems to prefer that bitch over Zelda
Monster Maze and she even had a full character arc portrayed by memories.
Wind Waker made her a character long before that
Honestly I hate how Mario is going back to having Peach be a damsel in distress
Zelda as queen and link as king/prince would be cool.
@@shadows6411 in some games.. link is basically with all the princesses.. (OOT.. xD)
@@jessicabrauman *It's just that, I've always thought Link was the only one who reincarnated in the series.*
Demise, Link, and Zelda, all experience reincarnation.
*Each Zelda carries the blood of the goddess, but it doesn't say anything about the spirit/soul of the goddess.*
That is because goddesses, in most fictional portrayals, do not have souls.
*But in Spirit Tracks, Zelda prays to Tetra, so they must be different people.*
Describing it as 'prayer' is a little inaccurate, it was more like she merely asked for guidance. Also, yes, they were different *people,* but they are both Hylia: via their blood, they share the same essence, just as how in Christianity, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are not the same person, but are still the same "God." Zelda and Tetra are *different incarnations* of the *same being.*
Also TP Link interacts with the Hero’s Shade, which is the ghost of OOT Link, meaning previous incarnations can interact

Why does this make me think of Mario Party 5, where each team combination had a different name?! 🤣
@@spyroflare Because the point of Mario party was secretly just a game that made ship names.
What about Linda?
That's actually a really interesting idea.
Thats.. actually correct.
The grandmother Zelda and her daughter Zelda and her grand daughter *Z* *E* *L* *D* *A*
It wouldn't be unusual. After all, Queen Elizabeth II was named after her mother, Queen Elizabeth, the late Queen Mother.

I personally think the adjustments to Zelda's design hint at that being a good possibility. She's being made to look more like Link. Join the club and read a few fanfics while we wait and hope
So Tetra became Queen? Zelda after coronation? Otherwise there would be 4 between her and Spirit Tracks' Zelda.

I find it extremely unlikely that there were absolutely no women born to the royal family in that time (In fact, if we knew how long it was, we could calculate it)
Does this means I will be finally able to say:
Hylia save the Queen!
Imagine this: Botw ends with Zeldas coronation and maybe the wedding of Zelda and Link

As long as I can push blocks to solve puzzles, I dont care
@Fluffynator bro, how is link supposed to stop that, it doesn't seem like a problem that can be solved with block puzzle.
Zelda’s mother is also mentioned in Zelda: Wind Waker. There’s even a photo of who we presume is “Tetra’s Mother.” Sure, she’s dead by the time the game starts, but she should technically be a Queen Zelda, even if she’s never called that name.

Also princess peach
I thought it was confirmed that the Skyward Sword Link and Zelda *did* get together.

Maybe she becomes queen after turning 18. I don’t know how old is Zelda in the games but she seems kinda young so she is still called Princess Zelda. (except twilight princess, maybe that’s why she was close to becoming queen before the Zaint attack)
Well..... technically she is 117 years old though xD
Monster Maze you’re right lol
All Zelda’s are either 17, 16, 15, 13, or 12.

Nintendo: where did all of these theorists come from
also Nintendo: now we have to make the game even more elusive
MM: nothing can stop me
I was just rewatching this cause I was bored and noticed monster maze read my comment thanks!!!!
I personally couldn't see the people of _this_ Hyrule accepting Zelda as their monarch. They've lived 100 Years without any help from any mass governing system, so I doubt they'd just up and drop their self-viewed freedom because a blueblood suddenly showed up again.
Zelda is hot
Yeah I said that
this comment is truer than true
VERY interesting! I learned a few things here. And you cracked me up. "I have spoken!"
Good point.
The Legend of Zelda: Return of the Queen?
>Incest (queue banjos)
>Abominable custom for Zelda
>References Queen Elizabeth II & Prince Phillip earlier in vid
>Forgot that the Queen & Prince of England are Cousins and had kids together.
"We don't know even her name" isn't a fact that all female members of of the royal family of Hyrule are called Zelda.
It could also be that they take a different name after becoming Queen. Not uncommon for royalty to have a name change after coronation.
Now, is Zelda the name they take as Queen or is it the name given at birth....
If she was married into the royal family then her name most likely was not Zelda.
Genuinely laughed at the sigh of Philip full title.
Me about it go to sleep
RUclips: wanna see if zelda will ever become queen?
Me: I need no sleep I need answers
You regularly get a lol out of my. The "oh yeah" homage got me this time. Great content as always. Thanks!
Whenever I hear the King say "I have spoken" I always think of Kuiil from The Mandalorian.
Dude stop saying all this Zelink stuff. My heart can't take it!
If they really marry at the end of the game I'll spend my liver for charity. And if they kiss I'll throw in a kidney for free. That's how much of a Zelink fanboy I am. :'D
This shit right here lmao
"Britain has a queen but no king"
Well that aged well
Yo I want a male Zelda that struggles with not being able to help cuz ya know he can't and link (or linkle) has to carry all of the kingdom
Monster maze asking the questions that we all really want answered.
Zeldas my queen 🥰😍😍
I mean in BoTW she's the only surviving member of the royal family so she's probably already a queen by default
The real question is whether she wants to reestablish the monarchy or go for some new form of government altogether. It's technically up to her.
Yeah !!!I'm second !Team 🔔🔔🔔
And zelda queen. ....It's WeIrD. ..😮😕
I think its pretty good
Audio on this video is on point!!! I had to rewind the opening like 5 times to hear links grunt as he’s chucked aside.
I hope they don’t use Zelda’s character in BOTW2 to enact some feminist trope.
Well, Nintendo quite careful in this stuff so we have a hope
When you talk about how Botw Zeldas mother not having power, I was reading creating a champion, and it says that Zeldas mother was overflowing with power.
In BotW Zelda mentions that her mother was going to teach Zelda how to use her power if she had not died before Zelda was old enough. And that is why Zelda has trouble getting her power to work.
1:30 - 2:28 was my favourite part of this whole video
(Not that I wouldn't get used to it)
the Princess has been in the same castle for decades
I wonder if the king's actual name is "Rhoam Bosphoramus" and the "Hyrule" was added when he married the queen of Hyrule, thus adding the country's name to his upon coronation...Therefore, Rhoam's family may not have anything to do with the blood of the goddess at all. (If this has been mentioned before, sorry for repeating)
That Hyrule is not only the name of the Kingdom but also the royal family? That actually makes sense.
