At this time of the year we don't really bother with shopping around, we head straight to The Mango Masters of London, these guys are the "King of of Indian Mangos located in the "Desi" part of London (Kenton and Kingsbury).
The sublime Indian Kesar Mangoes are the "King of Mangoes" - they have a very short shelf life once they are ripe (so have to be exported whilst unripe). They are also some of the worlds most expensive and sought after kinds of mango and are grown mainly in Western India.

* Medium Size Kesar Mango: £13.00 per 3.2 kg box or 2 boxes for £25.00
* Large King Size Kesar Mango: £18.00 per 4.2 kg box or 2 boxes for £35.00
Highly prized are the variety of Alphonso (A.K.A. Hapoos हापूस) ) from the Ratnagiri region of India.
This high grade variety of mango has a very short season of about 2 months from the beginning of May up to around the end of June; but is well worth seeking out due to the very sweet & almost fibreless nature of this fruit.

Historic Note for reference only: In 2021) the Alphonso & Kesar prices in London were eye wateringly expensive due to the Covid-19 Corona Virus. Sellers were saying that the cost of airfreight had tripled, hence the cost of a box of 12 Hapus was between £16.00 to £22.00 here in the UK (depending on the size and variety of mango)
In May 2021 the price of the mangos were:
* Large King Size Kesar Mango: £17.00 per 4kg box or 2 boxes for £33.00
* Medium Size Kesar Mango: £16.00 per 3kg box or 2 boxes for £30.00
* Hapus Mango: £19.00 per box or 2 boxes for £36.00

Kesar mango 🥭 ni surface karta ena modha ( ditya pase ) no bhag check karvano. Tame je box kharidya Ema 2-3 pieces na e bhag black padi gaya tha . In the 2 nd box which he opened he was reluctant to show you that part he only showed you the skin purposely.
Still never tried these, ultimately when I want to enjoy one, I'm paying £1.50 for an inferior mango at Tesco and 84 of these mangoes at 102.50 works out at 82 pence per mango.
You speak the truth, I hope that you get a chance to try these mangoes.
