This interview is done in a way I love. Subtitles for the other language for both sides to understand. I haven't seen that be done in interviews I've watched. Also, kudos to the translator(s) for translating both sides for the subtitles.

Yes, I'm American but my dad worked in Saudi Arabia for a couple years (Security Forces Hospital in Riyadh) and he shared some stories about what happened when people FAFO'd! Saudi Arabia is strict. He loved the country and his colleagues, but people who FA in SA definitely FO!

Keep it up. Great cross cultural competence the public rarely sees from attorneys.. mostly because most legal actions any US citizen might be a party to don't involve international relations. Note after watching.. I think I learned a great deal about the elements that are legally relevant as you asked questions about your guests understanding of what was said and how he interpreted it in a cultural context. For example regarding the question about JS' apology, his need for a translator, and did the translator help him understand the lack of sincerely in the apology. His response was that he didn't understand a word he said but he didn't believe he was sincere because of the translator as well as culturally embedded ques that weren't present (ex. lack of sincerity in the bow). Mutual assault I am imagining (by extension of the law regarding interference in business or lying about an STD) that as you indicated there "is no self defense in Korea, only differences in the level of mutual assault." My guess is that the punch was not nearly so grievous as the behavior that provoked it AND that while illegal would be completely understandable from the point of view of a South Korean court. Are you aware that online translation software using artificial intelligence (AI) allows you to upload a video file? It can translate the audio into subtitles, dub the video with an AI-created voice, or both. The AI voices are no longer robotic-sounding; with good software, it's eerie how real they sound. These apps and software do most of the work. You should check it out if you were unaware of it, unless you prefer human translation.

When I first saw the clip, it was a very strong dichotomy to see Mr. Yu's composure in the moment and Salami's false posturing. All talk until someone actually steps up to challenge him... Thank you for the interview! I live in Japan, but only got to know Ramsey Ismael after he went to Korea. I admire the Korean people and Mr. Yu Dalgeun! I have been to Korea many times and they have always been the most warm and helpful people I’ve met. When I was with family speaking Portuguese (I’m Brazilian) or even when I was with friends speaking Japanese. There was not a single time I wasn’t treated with kindness in Korea.
I absolutely love the segues in to his background and how it connects to the patriotism and hence the intention/reason why one might feel pissed at Johnny (Ramsey Khalid Ismael)'s actions (and rightfully so). The whole thing was a Fuc Around and Find Out waiting to happen. Awesome interview!

Id say this was more of a podcast as opposed to an interview as we got to learn more about you as well which was also pretty cool. This was awesome to learn about both of you and watch/listen to 🙏🏼 Yu Dalgeun I salute you 🫡 You did what possibly thousands of Americans would want to do to him or worse! 🤙

When I first saw the clip, it was a very strong dichotomy to see Mr. Yu's composure in the moment and Salami's false posturing. All talk until someone actually steps up to challenge him... Consequences of his own actions.

I have been to Korea many times and they have always been the most warm and helpful people I’ve met. When I was with family speaking Portuguese (I’m Brazilian) or even when I was with friends speaking Japanese. There was not a single time I wasn’t treated with kindness in Korea.
I absolutely love the segues in to his background and how it connects to the patriotism and hence the intention/reason why one might feel pissed at Johnny (Ramsey Khalid Ismael)'s actions (and rightfully so). The whole thing was a Fuc Around and Find Out waiting to happen. Awesome interview!
