As an og player I feel immense pain for what has become of Poptropica and all the lost islands...
I was able to play a lot of the old islands by downloading Flashpoint and playing Poptropica on there. It was a relief to be able to play the game (mostly) as I remembered it from childhood.

It's because Adobe Flash shutting down permanently. At least that's what I heard at the time
When it shut down it caused multiple different websites to shut down or remove majority of there games
There was a rumour that some islands will return once they're stable without Flash but it's been years now so my hopes aren't high
I remember playing this and she's right it was free the island was only train by making an account

absolutely devasted when they said the original islands disappeared, this was my childhood, I had complete every islands except the Skull one, damn, was planning to finish it this year only to find out the news
they yanked the islands a while back but they could still be played thru links if you did it right. I was lucky enough to get it to work and beat skullduggery for the first and last time :(
@@basboye I wouldn't complain if they didn't just remove Realms, like, there are less than 10 islands at the moment, Realms was the only way for me to relieve stress and yet they took it down for some reasons when it is still fine
@@yocheckthisshitout8077 the initial removal was to convert everything to html5 i assume since flash was going to shut down but they probably pulled less used features/maps under that guise even if they weren't flash sadly

If you still want to finish Skullduggery Island, I would recommend downloading Flashpoint and playing Poptropica on there.
i remember when you didn’t have to pay for outfits :( i played poptropica when it first came out, and i played it until like 2016. you used to be able to basically use an eye dropper tool to copy outfits, hair, and facial features. i miss it

If you use Flashpoint to play Poptropica, you can access both of the DoaWK islands.

I just got hit with the biggest wave of nostalgia; this game literally made up a good 2-3 years of my childhood. I was also reminded of how unintentionally hilarious all the advertisements in the most random places were.

Poptropica was my favorite childhood game. I finish all the island before they made them "membership available". Hell most of my time I watch tutorial clips on how to complete them for fun. Such good memories.

Imagine being a fish in the lake minding your own business, talking to your other fish friend about work, when all of a sudden you see and hear a lady in a french fry costume performing her top 10 hit "Sparks Fly" from 1976. There is a lot to unpack there and while all that is going on, you're still being hunted to be eaten by said lady in a french fry costume.

I went on poptropica like two years ago and realized that they removed almost EVERY island from my childhood. The superhero one, the spy one, the reality tv one, the mythology one, like i could go on and on and on. They got rid of ALL the classics. It broke my heart to pieces, I would be going so hard in poptropica right now if it was the same way it was when i was a kid. It was truly an amazing game before time took its toll
i loved reality tv island, i always hated when they voted me off. it was when i first learned the scorn you could feel against other people for excluding you.

I stopped playing Poptropica last year because I had A LOT in my inventory and most of it got deleted or members only so I didn't even have it anymore and I didn't even have a lot of my clothes I bought years ago I was so mad.

Poptropica and Papa’s cooking games were the best things to play as a child (for computer games bc I loved the psp and ps2) i downloaded papa’s Cheeseria, I definitely gotta play poptropica 😭 my fav was the superhero one and the horse one bc I loved riding on my horse…I’m 19 now, time flies

Poptropica was my first ever mmorpg! I was 5 and my grandma signed me up, there were only 3 islands then: early poptropica, dr. hare’s island (21 carrots?) and shark tooth island. I’m 21 now and feelin old! Lol

I remember I emailed them before the death of flash asking what happened to the old islands, they said they were adapting them to work without flash, welp. look where we are now.
I found Poptropica because I was in the Bucks County Public Library outside of Philly in 2007 and saw someone playing it on of the public computers, they were playing the spy island and I saw them playing it and literally looked at the name of the site in the corner and started playing at my own computer, NEVER mentally recovered clearly
Ngl poptropica kind of sucks now, last time I played anyway. I miss the older islands, I even have a guidebook for them that I got when I was a kid and now it’s useless and makes me sad whenever I see it knowing I can never truly revisit my childhood

Fun fact.. squirrels do make nests it just doesn't look like the art in the game. its usually between forks of trees and are made of leaves, twigs, and dry grass. They are typically called dreys.

no waiiittt I used to play Poptropica ALL. THE. TIME. in third and fourth grade, my entire class was obsessed with it and that is ALL we played during tech class! I sucked at it but I remember working so hard to buy that one like space ranger outfit or whatever it was called JUST so I could keep the sword and give my character a lightsaber. This game was such a fun part of my childhood and I can't believe I almost forgot about it until now.
