It's funny to watch modern saxophonists playing, you can immediately see their influences not only by their playing, but from their stance. If you watch the Coltrane generation, they all stood still and put the energy directly into the horn. I wonder how many saxophonists have been influenced by Mark Turner's bouncy stance? BTW, great music from Melissa as always. And, it's nice to see this series of concerts from Central Park: Mark Turner trio and Nasheet Waits 4tet (with the amazing Steve Nelson!), brilliant.
