i was there in march stayed at hard rock hotel was awseome love the place going back there next year for my annual holiday once was not nearly enuf the strip is the most amayzing place on earth, i enjoy old macau as well for culture but for lavish lifestyle and fun city of dreams is it for me
@chanwoochoi1 You don't understand. Macau is part of The People's Republic of China, but is recognized as a "special administrative region" by the Chinese government so it has its own sovereign government instead therefore making it a country. Plus its culture is a mix of Portuguese and Chinese, due to its Portuguese occupation only up until a dozen years ago. It is not part of China.
Macau is the number 1 place in the world for Casinos' gambling. Macau surpassed Las Vegas in 2006. Million of Chinese tourist visit that place per year.
Macau or Macao is a region of China. However, as part of Joint Declaration on the Question of Macau, Portugal would handover Macau to the People's Republic of China as a Special Administrative Region, with its' own laws, postal system, own government, and own currency. However, despite all the unique features, Macau is just one of the regions of China, but called a SAR. Macau is not its' own country. It is part of China, with a unique status of SAR.
@Bobanamanamo "...has its own soverign government.." no way... their decision on choosing whom to be their chief executive has to be agreed by the central government in China...
@MrEestimaa Macau is number 1 in revenue and the number of people that visit the casino there per year, but you're correct Las Vegas has a bigger name and more cache. Some of the craziest sex stories I have heard in my life happened in Vegas.
this place is amazing i was just there. you would not believe the shows!! rooms are beautiful. just gorgeous!!

Las Vegas is the origin of international gaming, but each year casinos are closing in Vegas and new resorts are opening in Macau.
@DeathShamans
Isn't that Shangri la?
@cruisewithangel What if I am a Portuguese living in Macau?
