I’ve enrolled in two online programs and watched at least 100 hours of Shaped by Dog videos, and this is BEST. I am so grateful for all you do. Thank you.
Wow, me finding this video today was divine intervention! I have been pondering all of these topics from “why is he doing this, there must be a deeper reason” to “why did I get a dog, what do I want out of this relationship with him”? Thank you 😭
Theres so much negative baggage with pick up through our lives. I'm 65 and I'm just starting to get to the place of grace to myself which has had a better impact on the training with my dog.
Susan, I'd like to publicly say how brilliant you are and to thank you so much. I am in Recallers, but what I learned there and with the podcast was not just dog training or the amazing games, I learned how to bring happiness to my dogs in training, in playing and in life. My very fearful dog-reactive girl wouldn’t play with me outside, wouldn’t listen to me and wasn’t motivated to do things. But now she loves to play with her ball, engages and plays with me in many environments, she wags her tail so much, loves to train and is happier than ever. I even shed a tear today while she was excited playing with me in the park seeing how much progress we made. You, Susan, changed my mindset and made me believe I am capable of teaching my dogs with kindness and happiness and, most important, of having an amazing relationship with them based on respect and patience. We all thank you so much and send you hugs all the way from Brazil!
Hey dogs that team, I’m a dog groomer so I listen to the podcast all day everyday while working. I’m a long time recallers, H360 and agility nation student I did recallers back in 2012 I think they continued to the others. I also saw LOH way back when she came to Australia 🇦🇺 and also saw Susan when in QLD in 2016. Sick with me the back story was important lol. Anyway safe to say I love Susan’s programs and have done my best to follow them and have had amazing results and success👌 But I think I’ve maybe if possible got more from these podcasts. Listing to them even though I didn’t think I was. I was still what Susan calls a balanced trainer since listening to the podcasts I’ve really tried hard to change that! And well tonight I saw a glimmer of hope! My oldest dog hype 7 yr old border collie has unfortunately a lot of baggage due to my balanced training and most of the time when I’m training my other 2 border collies Boost ( 4) and Arctic (18mths) hype is hiding under the bed in a another room to avoid my frustrations when training. Even if I try and call him out and give really good cookies he always says no thanks just train the other 2 I’m fine. Thanks anyway lol After listening to the podcasts especially on mindset and belief loops, labels and that our dogs are doing the best they can with the education we have given them in the environment we put them in really turn my mind around So tonight I was training my younger 2 and I see hypes little head peak around the corner and say um excuse me mum um would it be ok if I have a turn? I tell u I almost cried! I was soooo happy. He came out and trained and even more ENJOYED it. So I just wanted u to know what an impact ur podcast make 😍 On a side note I listen to the about when LOH was making the transition to all positive and froze well that’s me sometimes now I don’t wanna go back to balanced wad but my youngest is making it very hard! She barks at everything and I think I’m making it worse coz I don’t know what to do. Normally u would say no and tell them off. But in trying not to do that I’m just not doing anything. She barks when she wants something she barks at other dogs playing it seems like she gets over excited or frustrated and barks and continues to bark I know there are some podcasts on this and I trying my best but it seems to be getting worse. Anyway I still wanna say thanks again u guys rock
Susan you are so amazing for my dog CoCo and also me.....grace for ourselves and others....im definately going to join up your tuition. Thankyou so much. You have really hit the mark.i would give you one hundred likes
Thanks for this video. I signed up! Im struggling with my youngest rescue. he is very anxious and its hard to give him the confidence he needs to get out and enjoy the world. Im doing the best I can. I needed this Bob story to keep me on track.
As I listened to this yet again, the tears are flowing. With my new rescue, I'm having to give us both grace as we travel on our new journey together. Not enough ❤️'s for this podcast.
On the 200th live episode stream you asked us to list our favorite podcast of all 200 so far. Boy was that a tough choice, I really send these podcasts to all my own students, and even people with no dogs who can take lessons from the episode anyways for work, spouse, or children relationships. If this episode was out earlier then it would not have been such a tough choice. We’ll maybe. Loved the story, cried good tears, loved how you tied it all together gracefully and the graphics alongside. Beautiful work. You never cease to surprise me. I suppose that must be how your own dogs feel. “Negative prediction errors” all the time if I got it right? Love you and your team to pieces
Because of you and your programs, my Bosties have a better life, Trex is perfect and my Gemma who was my problem child but because of Recallers and every other program, she is a Lot better now. Can't Thank God enough for you ❤️❤️❤️🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪 Need to give myself Grace ❤❤
Oh, yes, Susan. My dogs and I scored big when we found Recallers. Thank you and your team for your enthusiasm, kindness, and joy. And, reminders. And, for anyone watching this, you will be so glad you joined Recallers (or any of the programs). Like and share.
My names not Bob! 😂 I have devoured most of the podcasts, and when Doggyflix happened in Oct, and I had a 3 month old puppy, I knew I couldn’t wait to join Recallers. And it paid off immediately, in my opinion. So thankful for all the work you’ve created and shared! 🎉
I've spent the last few years trying to unlearn my bad human behaviors and coping mechanisms. When I got my pup in September, I had no idea that trying to be the best dog mom I could be would bring me to Susan Garrett, who would in turn teach me so much about being a better human. Is my dog well trained, probably not. We have our moments 😂 is it her fault? Definitely not. I'm the inconsistent one if I'm being completely honest. This is probably one of the most powerful videos/podcasts I've come across in the last 9 months and was so impactful I've watched it three times in the last 9 hours since it came out and I may have cried twice. Not like I'm sad, but it feels like a breath of fresh air. My girl and I will get to where I can do all the wow fun things with her and not have to worry about that dog choices or poor human expectations. Thank you Susan and your team, you are helping in ways you may not even know 💕🥹
My relationship with Lucy puppy has been transformed. And I have a community to consult when I am overwhelmed. She is growing into the dog I wanted and she depends on me to communicate what I want from her.
Susan, you inspired me months ago and reignited me. It's your insite from the years and various breeds you have worked with. It's your passion is why you are successful. Success is doing what you love moving forward. Thank you richly from my heart. I am where I am because of my choices. You have been such a pillar to my success with my dog! Thank you! Here's to moving forward in love.❤
You have absolutely changed how I live with my dogs and have impacted how I respond to people as well💖 Susan, I appreciate what you do and tell everyone about you and your good work! Thank you.
How can one podcast make me cry, laugh and have deep thoughts all at once? Since listening to it I have been trying to give grace in all parts of my life. It is not easy, sometimes I forget, sometimes I get abscessed with I mistake I made while walking my dog. I know better, I should do better! I can forgive my dog anything, I can give grace to the lady struggling to take my order at the drive through, but for my self? That's the hard one for me.
This is so great Susan I wish everyone in the world would listen to your podcasts. I thought of another female lead in a movie could be Ripley in Alien.
This is one of my favorite podcasts! I love it for so many reasons. One being that I had to learn to give myself grace. Thank you for sharing how important that is.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you! I needed to hear this! So simple, yet so powerful! ❤️ Imagine what kind of place the world would be if everyone lived by this?! Susan I started following you because of your work in dog training, but you and your team are making a much bigger impact in the world! Truly making a difference! Thank you! ❤
This wasn't at all what I thought it would be. My instant response to the thumb nail was "well, pick the thing that bothers you or the dog the most, and work on that". Instant improvement in the dog's and your own life. No matter how big the total package of problems is, just working on one or two gives a feeling of progress and reduces the pressure. Itsyerchoice has really helped my amped up working dog be less hyper so our daily training session goes more smoothly. Last night was the 4th of July and both my dogs were not happy; I already know they don't like thunderstorm season, so that appears to be a thing we need to work on now...I try to treat problems as diagnostic of what needs work. Do other people do this?
My last dogs best friend really did go to a farm. He's doing well, his former owner saw him recently. He was reactive to all the people walking by the house and as our neighborhood became a popular walking destination more and more people walked by and he got more and more anxious and reactive. He's much better well adjusted out with no one else around on a farm. I always feel like it sounds like a fairy tale lol. It's not impossible to train it out but it was just more work than they could do with kids and a husband with ALS and so many chances to practice the reactivity. I'm glad he got put in a better situation for him but I definitely know it's a rarity that it turns out like that.
Hello, I used the link in the description for the free connected dog videos but can only find the Recaller class to join. Could you please guide me in the right direction? 😊
Hi Alyssa, the Connected Dog series was only available for a limited time. If you wish to be notified next time it is available, you can join our waitlist: recallers.com/
Everything I like everything that this trainer is saying. Yet... I must encourage everyone to be very responsible to keep their dog leashed and not set them up for failure, until the dog has learned proper behavior with small children elderly people smaller animals because their lives are important too.
Hi Susan, would this course be okay for someone who is in-between dogs? Lost my girl last december, and hope to be ready for another in a year or so. Trying to pre prep for the next one. tks!
What amazing advice. Treet people like you would treet your dogs and vice versa. The world would be a better place. This is assuming that you treat your dogs like the little angels that they are and listen to what your dogs are trying to tell you.
I’m not neuro-typical and I’m really struggling with my 7 month old border collie. I hired a trainer I love, watch videos, I joined the connected dog program but I feel like I’m doing a scavenger hunt and someone keeps rearranging the map. I hate my brain and hate that it makes it harder for me to be a good teacher to my Finn. I don’t understand .
The Connected Dog Series is on now at doggyflix.com/y/join-now
The connected dog series FOUND ME about a year ago. Ever so grateful❤️
God bless you Susan.❤❤❤❤❤

This was a really moving episode--very beautiful. You have a lovely worldview, Susan; thanks for sharing it.

What do you say to someone who believes a shock collar is the best training for their dog
Hi Cee, Susan did a podcast episode on shock collars recently: ruclips.net/video/GXh4K-EWnMA/видео.html
Amen🙌🏻❤️🥰🦴
very informative video thanks Susan! (Btw I just sent you a quick message on Instagram, let me know if it went through :)
