ADDISON and Saad started off as college friends, but soon realised their feelings for each other were deeper and fell in love. While Addison had never followed a religion before, Saad was a devout Muslim when the pair met. Addison explained to Truly that Saad was, "The first Muslim that I'd ever met. Before meeting Saad, I would definitely say that I had misconceptions about Islam, especially Muslim men and how the religion treated women." When the couple started discussing marriage, Addison toyed with the idea of converting to Islam, but it's something she initially struggled with. She said, "I had a lot of doubts at first. I was researching things on the internet and I'd find really horrible things." But after chatting to Saad about his stance on things, Addison decided to go ahead with the conversion. Sharing her Islam journey online, Addison has received a whole heap of negative comments, with people saying, 'In Islam, women are just about slaves,' and that Saad 'forced' Addison to convert. Ignoring the negativity, Addison won't let the trolls stop her from posting about their life. Addison said, "You should never judge people on things like their race or religion. You should just never judge people before you know them."

no one who's critical against islam has claimed that it's forced in literally every single case that exists. There are however alot of muslims grasping straws by trying to make it seem like those cases don't exist or like it's in a non existent minority. "not me" "not everyone" isn't that obvious? you have to read between the lines
I've always found "conversion" through marriage laughable. If you want to convert due to a religious belief then fine, but converting just because you getting married suggest you have no religious belief and are only doing it because your spouse wants you to. Ironically when it comes to Islam I've never herd of a man converting to Islam because of his Muslim wife and likewise I've never heard of Muslims converting to other religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism or Christianity. The reason for that is because Islam is the most proselytizing religion and the strictest on blasphemy, marriage regulation and Apostasy.

My wife is Christian, I'm muslim, 2 children. She didn't convert me and i didn't convert her, we leave that way since 41years now and everything is ok, alhamdoulIlah

This reminds me of when I was in my 20s, I tried to follow Islam for about 6 months. Though I learned a lot and gained a different perspective of Muslims, it just didn’t work for me. Now that I’m in my 40s, I’m more self aware of what I believe in. Now, I consider myself Agnostic and a Universal Unitarian with a strong interest in astrology. In other words, I don’t care what you believe in as long as you don’t create violence or chaos.
Just try to learn islam now, you will not lose anything, bu please learn it from nice people that actually living in islam

I find the older I get the more I choose to dress modestly but my husband doesn't care what I wear as long as I'm comfortable (though he does say oh you look nice or I like that colour things like that). My opinions on people who are Muslim or any religion is they are mostly lovely and respectful people, its the people who take it to the extremes and this includes Christian people. I grew up in a very progressive Catholic church, school and home and I believe I'm extremely lucky I had friends and my parents had friends who were many different religions, sexualitys, my dad was blind and very involved in the disability community and even ex drug and alcoholics. I was taught to respect everyone and learn all you can from everyone, I was home schooled and volunteer work was a big part of my education and I think it made me the person I am today, their are very few people I can't have a conversation with.

I don't believe in "God", as probably most of the religious people do..at least anymore, after years of pain mostly what happened to my son..if there is "a God ", then he/ she is very very mean being.. but what I can say is that people whom are most judging, jealous, close minded and violent are people whom called themselves "very religious ones". That is my experience at least and no, not everyone, but way too many, unfortunately🥺.
