If all schools had followed such people of knowledge, many disputes would stop and ummah would start to have love and affection to each other rather than sectarianism
Found him just 2 days back only & loving his lectures. According to some, the greatest living scholar of Islam. I thought, just like many traditional (sufi) scholars, he would criticize Ibn Taimiya and the salafi sect. Rather he considers them to be part of the Ahlu sunnah. Good.

I believe that this shaykh's view is the only way to unite the Muslims, especially those who are Ahlul Sunnah. For too long sectarianism has caused so much harm and spread ignorance in the ummah. This has to be the way forward.
May Allah preserve the Sheikh. Can someone give me an example of ijtihad in aqeedah?

@@thefud4361Maliki is not school of aqeedah. Its school of law. Malikites generally Ashari.
@@sourweed9818 malikis are all ashari, this is even shown throughout history. A lot of the shawafi and Ahnaf fell into ultra rationalistic theology like the muatazilla and the hanabila fell into mujassim belief, the Malikis stayed strong though on the ‘Aqidah of ahlus sunnah alhamdulillah. Saying this is a hanafi.
The majority of the Ummah are Ash'ari in aqeedah though they may not realize it.
