Our policy here is ridiculous. I have to jump through hoops and red tape to get my fiancé here but people can just walk across our border and stay. Grinds my gears.

    All done by design.

all done by international treaty nearly 60 years ago (1967 Protocols on Refugees). All done by lessons we learned from ww1 and ww2. thats what makes it okay for asylum seekers to enter a country illegally without punishment. Biden's executive order is probably illegal but we'll see what happened. Pretty sure only Congress has the authority to alter treaties.

Meanwhile foreigners simply transiting through US airports need a visa. 🤯

It's significantly higher than 7.4 million too.
I lived in Georgia (Eastern Europe) during the first year of the new POTUS.
By the end of that year, the entire population of my host country worth of people entered the US illegally.
That really put it into perspective for me. And it has only dramatically escalated since then.

Note: It's far from over. Mexico just "elected" an asset of globofinance.

Good points Benjamin. I have gone through a frustrating experience trying to bring someone into the USA 20 years ago. Now millions from all over the world walk across the border illegally from the south as well as the northern border and are treated better than many citizens.

Ben, I dont think you can really appreciate how bad it is right now. Its personally cost me 15k just in the last 9 months. You have food delivery drivers with no license running a racket with one vehicle. None of them have insurance. Residential rental rates have sky rocketed in part because they are filling apt units and bring the quality of life for the other residents down. They do NOT follow the rules or customs of the US and many of them have the smug bad attitude knowing that probability of consequences is slim to non. And they have infiltrated well into the heartland not just border or liberal states.

You make a great point. I think a lot of people hope that Trump if he wins, and gets enough non RINOs in the Congress and Senate, can curb illegal immigration, but I’ve heard nothing about making legal immigration more streamlined as an added deterrent to illegal immigration.

Yep, way back in like 2009 it took almost a year to get my wife from Thailand here after we married. And a lot of money between lawyers and immigration even back then people told me I should just buy a ticket to Mexico and let her walk across the border. Then she had trouble after two years, getting a permit green card, even though she was eight months pregnant with our daughter because they would not take a ultrasound photo as proof of relationship they claim we didn’t have enough ties, even though we live together because our house wasn’t on both of are names. Seems like the destruction of our country as we know it’swithin sight.

" Seems like the destruction of our country as we know it’s within sight"
it always strikes me as odd, VERY VERY ODD, that americans talk about this problem as though the US is an isolated case. No where does there seem to be any spark of intelligence when every NATO ally is having the same problem.
YOu'de think that at some point, the light bulb would go off for at least some people- but no - that there must be some common cause between all these countries that makes them impotent to deal with flood of migrants.

i'm not defending it. I'm telling you what the law is. we cant fix asylum until the problem is identified as the asylum process. Simply calling them illegals and refusing to call them asylum seekers seems to be the main obstacle in fixing asylum. after all, you cant fix the problem if a certain political party simply refuses to admit what the problem is.

@@chris-st6sm If I remember correctly the previous administration had an EO that asylum seekers remained in Mexico until their cases could be heard, this current group cancelled it turning them loose with a (haha) report date.
Probably very little of the non detainees are asylum seekers, just people who want free shit.
