I am so proud of my self. Replaced the thermostat that’s to your video and replaced the latch lock handle . It’s now working perfectly after a reset, ready for my next adventure( with cold not frozen drinks. Also today before I, Ms R completed this job with no prior knowledge who works in admin 😂 received a quote of $399 to fix Waeco only paid $44 for thermostat and heat sink plaster . If I can do it anyone can give it a go. I so appreciate this video. Please keep them coming .
I’m SO glad it helped! That’s what it’s all about! Great job on your repair I hope some future videos can help you as well. We are all more capable then we know 😃
Hey dude, Watched your video, saved me the hour and half taking my cf35 apart! Said to do this on other videos, happy I caught yours. Thermistor slid out easy and simple to replace. So, good job man, thanks.😀 🇮🇪
Thanks for the video. I was trying to figure out how to open my case because I saw other videos where they said you had to do that. I came back to youtube to find that video but luckily I saw yours first. You saved me so much time and hassle. Thank you!
The mistake of taking off the base must have been painful, but I'm so glad you found that was not necessary. I saw some other video before this where they guy did surgery on his Dometic and figured I'd have to do the same. If not for your video, I would have done exactly what you did.
It was painful to say the least. Especially after fighting it for so long hahah. But yes I was glad I got it on video so no one else has to make the same mistake.
Thanks for the video. About to have a go at fixing mine and was not looking forward to tearing the box apart, but seems now I won't have to. Happy trails.
mate I feel for you. I watched RUclips videos all mentioned taking off the outside, with thermistor in middle, I ended up cutting out a section from the bottom and like you to my surprise no thermistor, then saw the tube after cutting further. wish waeco / dometic had replacement instructions on how to do it!
Hallo, I have a question: my dometic cf 26 fridge shows Err 1 when turned on. After time the temperature starts to jump once -21, -32, -25 and when it drops below -18, the compressor starts. Later it works normally, but the temperature inside is cheating about 10 ° C on the display compared to the thermometer. What could It be? Greetings from Germany 😉
IMPORTANT NOTICE: If this is your model fridge then be aware: You may see something called "Thermal Heat Transfer Paste" or "Heatsink Plaster" or something similar. DO NOT USE THIS product with this fridge/thermistor. The heatsink plaster is a hard setting compound. Effectively if you use this paste/plaster it will "glue" the thermistor in place. Then if it ever needs to be replaced it will be stuck down that hole. The plaster is suitable for other fridges where the thermistor is accessed by cutting away the foam at the bottom of the fridge. People with this model fridge should instead buy a silicone based thermalcompound, such as "Super Lube 98003", etc.. The silicone based stuff is what is already on the thermistor in this model fridge.
I have the CFX65W. I emailed Dometic with this same issue and they said, "sounds like the thermistor, not a replaceable part." This unit is only 3-4 years old and very lightly used, so I was not happy to hear this. Nor did it make me want to replace it with another Dometic. Anyway, thought I would look around before I did that. My unit looks very similar. Do you think it would work on this model?
Mine never showed me codes, I don’t think the model I have is capable of that. Mine just shows my set temperature but would constantly freeze things. Even if it said it was reading 36F
The vid is helpful but subject to correction never flip an electro mechanical refrigeration system over , reason being that the oil in the compressor will get into the line that can cause a restriction sooner or later ,in that Case wen the system is back on its stands u must allow it to rest before plugging on because not doing that can be detrimental to the refrigeration system compressor etc!!!!!!!!
Geez mine is a cf40 was 20 years old and need a thermistor , dad has the cf35 and one button needed some attention, 18 years old, no complaints at all.
Thanks so much for watching!

Thank you. This fix applies to Waeco CF 40 A. Saved me a lot of time and I didn't need to cut any foam!
Mate, you have just saved me HOURS!! I'm awarding you the following honorary titles: "Top Bloke", "Bloody Legend", "Sick C**t".
Hahahah glad to hear

Hey man! So glad the video helped! I wish I came across one like mine when I went to fix it 😂

Man I could help but laugh when I realized what I overlooked.. at least now I know!
That is super helpful. Thanks for making this video!
Thanks you saved me taking base off.
Glad my struggles could save you time! Haha.

Sounds like the Thermistor to me! Usually all that fails on their fridges.
Very informative..thanks for posting it.
How to take of the case with out cutting??
Haha great question! Hopefully yours has the tube so you dont have too
What was happening for the thermistor to be bad?
No matter what I set the temperature too it would freeze everything I put in there.

Yes they all have a thermistor to my knowledge so it should work!
Dometic told me the same thing. I had Just watched a guy replace one on my exact model🙄
Did you get an error2 code? Mine keeps rising from 46c to 50 then it will show error2 but cold inside
Mine never showed me codes, I don’t think the model I have is capable of that. Mine just shows my set temperature but would constantly freeze things. Even if it said it was reading 36F
@@Adv4x4 tnx ill try the thermistor replacement if it will fix my problem 😊
@@WendyAng it might! Seems to be the main issue with most fridges.
Thanks, very helpful!
Glad it helped!
HI, Why will the cf50 give me a er 2?
I’m not familiar with the error codes unfortunately but dometic may have something on their website
We have a Dometic CFX40W portable fridge. Having the same issues. Where did you order the new thermistor from?
Sure thing. The link to the part is in the description!

Thanks for the info. Has been running 1.5 years straight with no issues since repair 👍🏼
That thermistor looks different. Did it end up working 100%? Mine is the silver type as well, on a CFX40.
Yes it is back to working condition after the repair 👍🏼
Hey Scott, I also have a CFX 40 and need a thermistor, where did you get yours? I can’t seem to find one. Thank you in advance!
@@christianamarillas7574 I found it using his link which may have expired. It is this one. www.ebay.com/itm/282141922786
Wow... I got pissed for you just watching this video. Thanks for saving me the headache.
Lol you should have seen my face when I realized it myself.... glad it could help!

Are you calling it a Ther-mister on purpose 😂
What da heck?? You took way too much apart.
I wish I would have known that sooner!
You should’ve bought an angle they’re not that dear Waco heap of shit
The worst fridge you can buy. There were so bad to change the name of them, but you’re still buying Waco
