To students of the game, this was the best individual match up of the 2000's. To watch these two, whether it was Kobe in the post droppin a fadeaway on Manu or Manu droppin a dime to Timmy on the way to a 30, 8 and 8, the talent ( and respect ) these two had for each other is something I will never forget.

To be fair the 06 spurs vs mavs should have ended with a 4-1 win spurs. The refs carried mavs so ridiculously that entire series, it was ridiculous. And the 04 spurs vs lakers was horrible also. The refs were trying hard to prevent spurs because they were a low market team and did not pull ratings.

More like the refs were spurs killers. After spurs extremely low rated 03 championship. The refs carried lakers hard-core to beat spurs in 04 playoffs. And after the fairly low 07 championship that spurs won, the refs carried lakers again in 08 playoffs to hype up the Celtics vs Lakers rivalry returning.
