This video features my kitbashed and freelanced HO Scale Amtrak Elevated Station. For pictures of this model plus much more check out www.flickr.com/...
The platform section is kitbashed from parts made by various manufacturers. The area where the tracks sit is made by Faller, and came in a kit for making a German elevated station. The platforms themselves were cut out of styrene, and the platform shelters came from a Walthers kit. Each platform is surrounded by highway fencing made by Faller. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
Absolute eye candy! Great video skills along with realistic scenery, sound and trains, etc. Wow, what an impressive system and your skill-set is second to none. Thanks, I've bookmarked this upload.
Thanks for the comment! My layout is freelanced, so I basically draw my inspiration from whatever peaks my interest. Whether it be the elevated railroads of Chicago or New York, streetcars in Philadelphia or more mountainous terrain in places like W. Virginia. Also, in this video, I drew inspiration from Germany in the architecture of the station. My layout is 109.5 square feet. Thank you for watching!
That is one of the coolest layouts and station!! I love how you animated the cars and the time of day. And all your wonderful camera angles!! It looked so real. This is one of my favorite ho videos. Amazing job!!
I am beyond impressed by the quality of this video--it's almost cinematic. Rarely do I see this much effort put into one video--even the frickin' CARS move! And I'm equally impressed by the impressiveness of your layout and trains. Superb job! ...Is there any chance of a behind-the-scenes video?
Thanks! If you want to see how I shoot my videos check out ""Heritage Through the Eras" Behind the Scenes HD" and "Operating the Layout HD." I may post some more behind the scenes stuff soon.
Liked your video, the mix of motion, sound, and lights. Very nice elevated station. Liked your Amtrak NE Corridor HHP8, and train, along with the other trains.
Thanks! For most of the shots that had movement in this video I used a jib arm, which is basically a small camera crane. For more basic shots (pan & tilt), I use a tripod with a fluid head.
My ever-expanding fleet has already overloaded my tiny 5x8 layout. I think it's time to expand! Especially because I need one of those heritage P42 units to add to the three standard ones I already have!
This layout is fantastic! Half the fleets i am viewing I own AMTRAK BI LEVEL PASSENGER COACH BY KATO, HHP -8 BY BACHMANN F 40 PH anyones guess they're are so many of them except ATHEARN who've manufactured them. This is the first HO scale elevated layout that looks extremely realistic. The vast majority of elevated platforms are on KATO N scale. Great videos part 1 & part 2 👍👍✅⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I like your station, it gives me ideas for my layout. If it had catenary it'll pass for a Philadelphia station. (Im modeling SEPTA). Btw, I love your BCTA Commuter Train! I love it when people put their own commuter rails on their layout. I got one called Bridgerissa Commuter, already painted a F59PHI for it. I'm at lost for what I'll uses as Coaches.
Cool, I came here, because I'm looking for a second, differnt type of elevated Station (Faller 119 und 551 and a arched sektion without platforms is alread on my layout) and thought, 'Hm let's see what US-manufacturers provide, maybe I can order something from US', and instead, I saw some well knows products from my home country again... Funny. But you have done a great job, to make it looking different.
V12 Productions. Ho Scale Elevated Amtrak Station 🚉 HD. Real cool to see the lay out on the track an watch the train move around the tracks. An yes out standing.
nice 822!!! i got 156 off of ebay a few weeks ago and looking at getting 66 for Christmas. both will be Christmas presents this year along with a MTH HO 2-8-2 B&O #4500 (hoepfully)
Wow man, I really don't know what to say haha. Your videos are awesome, definitely worth subscribing! I really enjoyed the meet between the two locals, what a wonderful scene.
Beautiful work. The night shots are especially effective. Did you use a steadicam, or fix the shake in post? The camerawork, esp. the depth of field, really adds to the realism.
Thanks, I really try to put some good production value into all of my videos. For the moving shots, I used a jib arm, which is basically a small camera crane. Check out my video entitled "Model Railroad Scenes HD" for more shots similar to the ones in this video. Thanks for watching!
The video was excellent. I was just wondering were you got your inspiration from. I saw lots of different railroads from all over the country in your video. Was the layout entirely freelance or did you have a general area that intrigued you? I myself have a freelance railroad but I have a geographical location I like as far a scenery. Just wondering. Also how large is your layout?
V12 Productions I have this locomotive in nscale. And I use it to haul freight trains. Even though this is not like in real life I care not. Amtrak genesis I mean.
used to watch these all the time when I was like 6-7 years old
use to watch them when i was like 8 or 9 o_o
Same here!
Me too!

Best video ever brings me back memories! 😊
Your station is such a change from the usual "shoebox next to the tracks" style station.

this is great but can u make the trains a lil dirty and leaking water
Thanks for the positive feedback, I really appreciate it!

BNSFguy 617 Thanks, I really appreciate that!
It did look real, forgot to mention that.

Thank you! I did the automobile shots using 1:18 scale cars moving over top of a green screen that I keyed out while editing.
Hey budd I love the layout!
@@873Official Thanks!
@@v12productions Your welcome!
Thanks! I got most of my inspiration for the project from German S-Bahn stations, and from stations in New York.
A very nicely-done job. Though I've been a confirmed rail nut from a very young age, I'm still a relative newbie when it comes to model railroading.

Thanks!! Yeah, I looked at a few of your videos, you've got some great Amtrak heritage equipment!
Thanks!! Those sound like good models to ask for for Christmas!
Thanks! For most of the shots that had movement in this video I used a jib arm, which is basically a small camera crane. For more basic shots (pan & tilt), I use a tripod with a fluid head.
I really like your city scene. A lot of videos that ive seen have been too cluttered but yours is just right! and I love the Heinz plant you have
That's awesome, I'm glad I could provide some inspiration for your layout!

+John Brazil Thanks!
Yeah, I use the Digitrax Zephyr which allows me to operate DC trains and DCC trains simultaneously.
Haha, yes it is. Thanks for watching!
love that over pass with the station platform.
Thanks!
Movement of cars makes this very realistic. Well done.
Thanks!

I always enjoy your vids and this is no exception! Great stuff.
I finally found this video after 6 years!
Thanks for checking it out!
Thanks, I made it myself from various kit parts.
Finally, an intro with a train horn that isn't cringy.

Танюшка Пронина I wish I could understand that!
there is no cringy train horn
Tacoma railfan productions I'm saying, most of the time when there's a train horn in an intro, it's usually cringy
This video was my childhood, i vividily remember thinking the added cgi cars were real and telling my dad how i wanted to add my own...
Thanks! I tried to make it as original as possible.
Great video, man! I love how you have the nice variety of trains!
Thanks!
I used to watch this when I was little
Excellent editing.

The F units & the NS high hood were great.
Thanks!
I never put a decoder in it so I just have it showing red lights since I mainly run the train with the locomotive leading.
Awsome layout, great station, id love to have one, i've got a prety sizeable amtrak fleet myself, very nice mix of trains. :D
Excellent video. Really good sound as well.
Excellent work. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
These model rr videos are interesting and impressive.
Thanks, I really appreciate it!
I really like your layout
I have a long way to go, Wow! well done!! I could only imagine the hours put into this masterpiece
Lighting is wonderful.
Thanks!! I made the car move by first filming it moving in front of a green screen and then placing it over top of the shot of the layout.
V12 Productions hi how much did all of the trains cost?
I love the hhp-8 on non electrified track
Wilfred 04 Gaming
Very impressive !
Thanks!
Most of the models in the video do have sound decoders, but I did add locomotive sound effects to those that did not.
Wow, really great! Nice job on the modeling and the video!
Agreed, great mood and atmosphere.

Ah..Is it Fictional or real?If it's real,I wanna know where it runs.
Kirito Kirigasha It's fictional. I based the paint scheme on the old New Haven colors.
Thanks, much appreciated!
Thanks, I really try to put some good production value into all of my videos. For the moving shots, I used a jib arm, which is basically a small camera crane. Check out my video entitled "Model Railroad Scenes HD" for more shots similar to the ones in this video. Thanks for watching!
BEAUTIFUL
First clip, my first though, "Amtrak, on time? This isn't realistic at all!" Hahaha, nice models in all seriousness.
Thanks!
beautiful
really cool man you should check out the faller car system, then you can have cars that actually move :)

Great video!!
This is awesome!
Excellent Video! Liked and Favorited!
Thanks!
The reason why Amtrak is late sometimes is because they have to make way for freight trains who are given first priority over the railroad tracks
Wow fantastic
Thanks!
Awesome layout and video! LOVE the elevated station! How did you make the automobiles moving shots?
shouldn't it be light at 8:00 am?
You just got a subscriber. This is AMAZING!!!! How long did it take you to build this???
Thanks for subscribing! It took about a month to build the station.
V12 Productions What I meant to ask was how long did it take you to build the entire layout?
About 4 years.
+V12 Productions That train layout looks to be well worth the amount of time and money spent to build it!!!
V12 Productions l
I really like the production side of the video. But where did you find cars that drive by themselves? LOL. Nice job!!
+Bob Fierro Thanks! Yeah, I used a green screen to put the moving cars into the video.
Wow excellent!!!!!
+V12 Productions some come with knuckle couplers right? (BTW LOVE THE DCC SOUND AND THE QUALITY!!!)
Thanks! I think they do.
Wow how did you get the car to move like that? Awesome video by the way!
How did you make that station? It all looks amazing but I'd just like to know about the platform part of it; I don't plan on making mine elevated.
Love it 😍
This cannot be the only part of your layout. Would like to see the whole layout.
Amazing, I subbed
Are the trains in this video equipped with sound or did you play real train sounds over them?
impressive....damn impressive.....I have subbed you.....
Thanks!
V12 Productions
COOL WOW LIKE REAL LIFE EXCEPT IS HOBBY
THUMBS UP I LOVEIT
Thanks!
VERY nice!
Wondering how do you get the cars/trucks to move, and by the way nice layout
Thanks! I actually used larger scale cars that were placed on a green screen and put the model background in when I edited the video.
wow looks in some shots almost real life😄
+Antoninus Pius Thanks!
V12 Productions I have this locomotive in nscale. And I use it to haul freight trains. Even though this is not like in real life I care not. Amtrak genesis I mean.
