Fullness comes from playing tightly. It comes from using the bass to do some lead fills, when Dany plays rhythm, or vice-versa. It also comes from judicious use of advanced pedal board programming. Dany uses a vocal harmonizer on the guitar, and various delay, reverb, and compression effects. And they play to a click track on Ableton Live on Pau's laptop, which also triggers the lights and plays occasional studio-recorded fills (such as Alessia Cara's voice on parts of Enter Sandman).

Trev & Erin, it was a great time hanging out on your livestream and requesting this awesome opening song from the EPIC Teatro Metropolitan CDMX concert from 8/29/22. The Warning switches between this song "Z" and "Disciple" for their opening song. Very cool how you include messages from the livestream chat in your reactions. I am sure you will get many more requests for The Warning, as their army of fans is growing fast.

I always get to thinking about how genuine they been since they were kids and the way they have been treating us fans… it’s rare to see especially after 10 years and they still stand on what they’re about… staying true to themselves and not letting the industry control them… they have been wise since kids of knowing the negatives and dangers in this world… they were raised right of knowing how to carry themselves in this society and in the industry… they always put so much hard work and passion into what they do… i always see ppl compare them to other bands and say they’re not good because they’re not the most technical even though they could if they wanted to… that really doesn’t matter, what matters is they’re simply just having fun rocking out and staying positive as a family… and it’s great music for all to hear… I really think they deserve far more recognition than what they get… their probably the best thing to happen in music in my generation

If you want part of the answer to your question of how they sound so full. Watch Danni's gear breakdown video she did. She goes over how she makes her guitar sound so full by using a specific pedal board and coil mixture

How do they sound full? They use backing tracks. Pau triggers each track with midi pedals using Ableton software. There is usually a 2nd guitar track and often additional vocals. If you want to hear Pau talking about her gear, she has a couple videos on RUclips where she talks about it:

Actually, not so often additional vocals. Enter Sandman had Alessia Cara in backing track vocals, but it's rare for them to have any piped in vocals as all 3 harmonize and do backing vocals live. Additional instrumentation in some songs (guitar, piano, etc.) and sound effects for sure.

    • @jasonremy1627
      @jasonremy1627 8 месяцев назад +5

They usually only have tracks for synth and rhythm guitar parts over Dany's solo, like in this song. The only vocal tracks I know of on this show are Alessia Cara on Enter Sandman and the screams on QOTMS. All of the other vocals in this concert are live.

In a power trio like TW, to get that wall of sound, you have to be a tight group. You have to be a well oiled machine and this group is that. I think, being sisters, they've had many, many hours of practice over the years so they know each other very well. Also when Dany was singing here, the rhythm section is filling out the sound.

Why does The Warning sound so full? They build the songs from the bottom up. The drums are powerfully played and loud. The bass is just as loud, full-range and often louder than the guitar unless the guitar is emphasized for a reason. Then the guitar parts are progressively built up. The guitar can stop entirely for dramatic effect and the drums and bass can still carry the tune. Then the buildup starts again, so the energy is always rising. The girls write and arrange their material themselves, together, so the parts all fit together.

The full sound it's usually because Danny's pedalboard that can double or triple the sound…
And Ale is called “human metronome” Producers, musicians and their own sisters say that Ale has an unusual sense of timming
She is the one who leads the synchronization and assembles the sound of the band ... the hits to Pau's snare drum are synchronized with Ale's fingering and Danny's voice … i mean… The strong syllable of each word is always synchronized whit 5:34 Pau's snare drum or bass drum ... that's how they achieve that sound so tied up…
They play rock as a unit… A very well assembled unit

A once in a generation phenomenon. I flew down with my daughter 2 months ago and saw them in Tijuana where they started with Disciple. Ale’s bass kicked me in the chest and knocked me over, then Pau beat me over the head with her drums and then Dany finished me off by slaying me with her guitar and vocals. Once you go down The Warning rabbit hole there's no way out, like Black Holes (which is one of my favorite songs of theirs).

now THAT'S how you open a set!
some Fun Facts about *Z* :
    1. *Z* has been their opener for numerous concerts...
    2. the title of this song, "Z", is short for "GenZ" or "Generation Z"... they thought it to be "too much" so they shortened it to just "Z"...
    3. yes, they do reference their song *Kool-Aid Kids* in the 2nd verse:
Wear the blindfold, drink the tide
Who will we destroy this time?
    Revolutionary Kool-Aid kids
    Happiness, the lowly traitor
Kill the raw, one like, one prayer
Disappointing how we're used to fall
    (I think that you should)
    4. Pau does one of her three known screams in *Z* "I THINK THAT WE SHOULD!"
    5. this song, a cup of c0ffee, and a donut are the perfect start to the day! 😹

Some songs by the Warning have backing tracks. All three are classically trained pianists too so sometime the backing track is of of them playing piano on a backing track. BTW, The drummer Pau starts and stops the backing track via a iPad next to her. She also puts together the light show and runs the click track that keeps what they do on track. They are tight because of the click track. I personally think Pau is an android with at least a quad processor in her head. Oh, yeah, most of the songs originate in that amazing brain of hers.

Dany has a KEMPER pedal board, she can split her guitar into three channels and have delay on one of them so the sound comes a little later so that her guitar sounds like more than one. Dany gets the maximum out of every one of her guitars. If you watch her gear rundown at the digital tour bus, you can learn a lot about how much she knows about guitars.

As far as honing their craft it didn't hurt to do the Trio Tour with the Argentine band Eruca Sativa. It is also a 3 piece band with guitar, drums and bass and the ladies from The Warning and Eruca Sativa hit it off well and out of the park. Their bass player, Brenda Martin, is a wizard and Ale spent extra time with her. Both bands have met up several times since then also. In fact, Dany joined them for a number just a couple of months ago for
