The original story behind this sovereign was going to be that the contribution was this was going to be the first ship made under the Borg/Federation alliance. The Borg wanted a Sovereign specifically after they witnessed the events of First Contact, but since other things happened in Picard, I changed the story to be that the Federation began experimenting with technology extracted from the wreck of the Jupiter cube shortly after the end of Picard. The Federation began integrating Borg tech into their ships as a slight "adaption" feature. The nanites armor on the ship, and the adaptive shield grid protect and adapt to Borg phasers, gravimetric torps and slicing beams (although it doesn't in game, just some cool lore). The nanite armor and was the first steps into the technology for the "grown" ships we see in the 26th century, which utilize a kind of organic and nanite metal type material. The array on the Contribution was a Gravimetric Burst Beam array. The Borg tech was also used to help increase processing power in the computer core and increase the sensor range and targeting capabilities. The contribution was equipped with a reverse engineered and stabilized Borg Transwarp Drive. It was equipped with a Gravimetric Quantum launcher at the front, which only has a certain amount you could fire before burning out the launcher. Each time you fire the Gravimetric Quantum Torpedoes, it actually launches 4 or 5 of them. The Nanite Microquantum torpedoes not only have the 8472 destroying nanites, but the Federation enhanced them to eat away at standard hulls as well. It was a small radius of functionality with metal structures and not organic structures, but still devastating none the less.
I wonder if a series of books or graphic novels could explore this future of the Federation. Starfleet heavily armed ships with Borg integrated technology basically take over the galaxy. To my mind the first episode would be titled "Too Much of a Good Thing."
@@SupremeCleave hmmmm, that sounds like it could work... The captured Borg tech would eventually become outdated in... most likely the late 25th century, but off-branches in development would lead into 26th century organic hulls, ship rapid regeneration, field techs and the Enterprise J's Gravimetric Lance Beam and Quantum Singularity Torpedoes. Over time, it would stop looking like, functioning like and sounding like Borg tech. The Borg tech would be reverse engineered and made into a hybrid tech. That hybrid tech would then be reverse engineered and fitted with replacement tech that would make it function faster and become more powerful, making that percentage of Borg tech smaller and smaller with each refit. Eventually all Borg tech would be phased out as the Federation would've found better and faster alternatives to that tech as the tech was static and couldn't "adapt" without the collective.
Eddington was right, we are worse then the Borg. YOUR NEGOTIATING CAPABILITIES ARE UNABLE TO WITHSTAND US. IF YOU REFUSE TO NEGOTIATE WE WILL DEPLOY THE CONTRIBUTION.
WE ARE THE FEDERATION, LOWER YOUR SHIELDS AND INITATE NEGOTIATIONS. AGGRESSION IS FUTILE. The color scheme looks Dominion as well with the violet. Be cool to see a Borg Enhanced Dominion Battleship!
It's a nice idea on paper, as long as it has a physical off switch to prevent, well that. Also, they could have integrated Borg tech the way Voyager did without networking the entire fleet together. They took arguably the worst thing, did it terribly(I know, for plot), and left all the useful stuff behind.
Nice showcase! This could be one of the timelines from Year of Hell, where Voyager didn't get home or crippled the Borg, and the Federation had a different experience...😅
Totally agree. I wonder what weapons the sovereigns in Picard had? You’d like to think they were upgraded. The phasers looked a different colour that all of the ships fired 🖖
I'd love to see a Borg Cube going up against the Death Star. Or better yet, at least imo, a Borg 'Super-Cube (27 Borg Cubes merged, instead of 3x3x3 km/side, the combined size being 9x9x9 km/side, taking on the Death Star.

(RUclips is fixated with having your Star Trek videos labeled as Star Wars Empire At War) I think that big torpedo, barely dealing any damage, may possibly be a team-switching torpedo or a disabler yield of some sort - I cannot verify without downloading tho.
It's actually just a pure damage torpedo. I was thinking about adding a secondary torpedo to it that switched teams if a shield face is dropped or the torpedo can make contact with the hull

Interesting take on a Federation/Borg combined tech ship. I couldn't help but laugh when you ran into the Borg diamond queen ship lmao.
It really got me that collision. It came out of nowhere! Unfortunatley there was too much swearing so I had to cut a part out after that 😂
„A challenge“ he says while being at 100% shields 😂
Seriously maneuverable! 😮
Who would've thought the Borg, the all mighty terror of the galaxy, went suicidal as a last-ditch resort? lol
Very cool, briefly taking on a Borg Diamond, & then the Death Star,..
Well that worked out for the Federation Fleet during Frontier Day didn't it...

Huh. Starfleet finally drew the line and assimilated the Borg. This is as far as you go, Queenie, and no further! 😛

The Borg Queen was just mad that StarFleet was using her technology better than she was.
Nice! It looks to incorporate Borg regenerative technology 👍
