My favorite young pianist by far. Here is a video on thirds I dedicated to him, for all of his incredible inspiration..../watch?v=oZx_gJ2ed6A. Thank you Daniil for your hard work and example to all of us pianists!
For people who commented on Daniil's face, I want to shed on some light on this issue from a pianist's standpoint. Personally, the reason I "make faces" sometimes while playing a piece is because it helps me concentrate on the piece I am playing. Like, when I am practicing by myself, I truly played a piece emotionally and felt detached from reality. Since I developed this habit, if I don't do what i normally do which some people think as "making faces", I don't think I can concentrate and play calmly.
The people commenting on the "exaggerated facial expressions" in his videos obviously are not musicians. Its called emotion and it is necessary in order to play like this.

So light! So quick! One of the best interpretations and pianists.

He's just eccentric. You are probably struggling.

It's amazes me how he manages to play the second hand so softly.
wow! I love this interpretation (who cares about the faces, is his way of feeling music :) ) Trifonov is a master!
fair enough
I care!!!!!
I’m fed up of pianists that show off that they are playing something difficult.
Be humble and let the sentiment flow.!!!!!!
@@helenkd1755 you didn't understand what his expression means. Nothing to do with difficulty
sensitive and beautiful
Trifonov has it all: technique, musical phrasing, delicacy...
Dont forget his looks....
He never ceases to astound me
Semplicemente magnifico. Un giovane di talento e da quello che possiamo vedere, certamente un virtuoso.
Amazing performance! Bravo, Daniil!
Could anyone turn the AC on please
Très. Beau. Fluide et chantant ainsi que contrasté.
Наш гений😍

It isn't necessary, it's a by-product.
Daviis12 What's up?
empfindsamer stil isn't about "making faces" you know lol
Tyler Floyd thank you!
well explained!!
The hardest one to play. Wow
I agree with bonjour
A shade less poetic but with very good thirds , a video with Mayaka Nakagawa.
You dont listen to music with your eyes, who cares about his facial expressions?! Maybe he's doing them to make his playing more emotional.
He is not doing them to make anything. They just come along as he tries to express himself musically
Que destreza!
this is technically the hardest etude from chopin according to wikipedia....
this guy creeps me out...
but this is some beautiful piano!
The faces...

It's outstanding how he plays that passage
completely different piece when he plays it
Прекрасная игра! Только это Этюд 18.
2019 anyone?
When they show a close-up of his face, is that done later and then edited in to make you believe that it was while he was playing?
I doubt it.

What is with the face?
What's the matter? It's his face.
I don't know about the face, but his playing is beyond description... bravo!
The piece is emotional and all and it's great to show emotion when playing but it feels a little exaggerated with all the faces...
Dude. This is not Lang Lang. He is not doing it on purpose...
Ur an illiterate
