    When John Howard was still the prime minister, his immigration policies was very strict. Extremely hard for China and India to migrate to Australia…the population is lot smaller less than 20 million in 2006 for example. The 3 bedroom big house with big land in Narre Warren was no more than 400 thousands….population does making rental higher and properties prices higher.
    It is bullshit to deny the fact that population does affect the rental and properties prices when Labor government under Albo let in millions of people from overseas in just about 3 years time.

      around 1985, my parents bought a 4 bedroom house in Roseville, NSW. House was built in 1920s, older style with lead light windows, for 350k on a quarter acre block. All friends though we spent so much when a normal house was below $200k in the lower North Shore. These days both the demand from first home buyers and property investors pushes price up. Also people buy to fight inflation, as the purchasing power is reducing all the time. When they down size and sold the house in mid 1990s, the house sold for 900k, and if I check its current valuation now, it is above 4m.
