      電車で隣に座ってこないのも、黒人は日本人に比べて身体が大きく、隣の座るスペースが狭くなるので座らなかったり、日本人は英語が出来ないので話しかけられたら困るから座らなかったりする。電車内で日本人が隣に座ってこない光景を撮影して、黒人差別の証拠だと主張する動画があったが、動画では通路を塞ぐような大きな旅行ケースが席の前に置いてあり、これでは座われないでしょという感じだった。人種差別ありきで撮影したいのでしょう。
      外国の事情はわからないが推測するなら、黒人は犯罪をするという先入観で警戒されジロジロ見られたり、近くに寄って来ないことが多いので、それが黒人差別と思われるようになったのかもしれないが、他国に来てまで、その常識を持ち込んで、日本人も差別するっていうのは、関係を悪くするだけだ。せっかく日本人は黒人に悪い印象がないのに、日本に来る黒人はちょっと見ているだけで人種差別だと怒るってなれば、日本人はどう思うか?それなら黒人にはなるべく関わらない方がいいとなってしまう。互いに不幸な関係になってしまうだけ。
      人種差別とは、違う人種にだけする悪質な行為のことである。他国に来て人種差別されたと主張する前に、その国の常識や慣習を知るべき。そうでなければ、その国の人が人種差別でしていることかどうかわからない。他国に来てまで母国ではその行為は人種差別になるから止めろと言うのは、尊大であり、他国への畏敬の念がない。

    • @2Click-My-iCON
      @2Click-My-iCON Год назад +4

      大前提として、差別はどこの国にもあるし、人間がいる限り、残念ながら無くならないでしょう。
      問題は、差別があるかないかではない。
      どれ位多く差別が発生しているのか?
      どれ位酷い差別があるのか?である。
      差別の傾向が大事なのだから、個人の体験1つで批判するのは安易であり、統計DATAや多くの差別事例の分析により、傾向を導き出して解決策を導くべきである。
      差別を受けたと主張する人の話だけを聞くべき?差別を受けた人にも原因があることだってあるし、差別された話は自分視点の話が中心で必ずしも公平な話にならない。
      外国人のあるあるRUclips動画に【日本には差別があるか?】がある。日本人でも経験するようなちょっとしたイジメでも、外国籍だからというだけで人種差別になってしまい、大した被害もないのに、再生数の為に動画を作っている。日本人にも同じ様に起こることは人種差別ではない。多くの人が人生で経験するからかいや軽微な一時期のイジメでしかない。それを見極めもせず、何でもかんでも人種差別と言う外国人が多い。
      また、なるべく差別が少ない社会にした方がいいが、差別の酷い国が自国を顧みず、自国より差別の少ない国に向かって、重箱の隅をつつき、差別を批判するのはいかがなものか。他国を批判するなら自国の差別をどうにかすべきでは?

      【RUclips動画を発信するに当たっての注意点】
      既にRUclips動画は星の数程あり、嘘動画も誤解させる動画もあると思うが、動画の大前提は、嘘ではない、なるべく誤解を生まない動画であることだと思う。
      サムネイル画像だけでも誤解を生んでいる。
      動画を見てもらおうと、インパクトが欲しくて、事実とは逆の画像やタイトルのサムネイルを作っている。動画を見れば「なんだそうだったのか!」と誤解を解けるが、サムネイルだけ見て動画を見ない人は沢山いる。そういう人達には誤解を植え付けてしまっていることになる。
      また、例え個人の体験が事実で本当だったとしても、細心の注意を払って誤解を生まないようにフォローする説明をしないと、世界中の多くの人に向かって発信するRUclips動画では、誤解する人も多く出てしまう。動画を最後まで見ない人だって沢山いることも考慮すべき。この動画では、差別された話を永遠して、最後に他の人に聞いてもそんなことはなく、私だけの稀な事例みたいだと言っても遅い。最初にそれを伝えてから話すべきだし、そもそもそんな稀なことであれば動画にして世界中の多数の人に発信すべきことなのか?なんの目的で話すのか?話してどういう影響が出るのか?そういうことも考えるべきである。
      この動画には、そこまでの思慮深さがない。

Why can't someone just be proud of who they are, be it mixed race, Korean Canadian, Chinese American, etc. and treasure their mixed heritage? Why is such unique identity bothering you so much? Is it your own insecurity? Is it your desperate need to feel that you belong? Is being considered Japanese superior? Is it really their attitude that's bothering you or is it their policy?

@@BanBanChi Yeah exactly this, its huge obsessiveness over who they want to be, when they already are someone, so busy trying to be someone they are not and a few even pulled out the victim card for no reason. You are who you are and that's who you are. If you still are trying to "fit in" you are doing it wrong. Specially as an adult. Your difference should be your strength. More then half of my friends are 1st or 2nd generation immigrants in my country, they don't care about being a certain way, they know now in their adult life they are way more happier being who they actually are, someone with mixed origins. Both culturally and/or genetically. Nowadays their strengths are actually their diversity.

I just asked my 11 year old son "are you Japanese, Puerto Rican or American?" Without hesitation he emphatically answered "I'm all!". My high school age daughter said she's all but more one or the other depending on the company. I'm Puerto Rican, my wife Japanese and my children were born in the USA. We live in Japan so they've had contact with all three cultures. During the Tokyo Olympics, my children cheered for all three national teams but cheered the loudest when the Puerto Rican woman won the 100m hurdles race because they know how seldom we win at anything. On the odd moment that they faced each other, they were happy regardless the outcome. They are Japatoricans.
My wife and I have always taught them to never try to fit into any mold or try to simply "fit in". We have also taught them that all their heritages are rich and valuable and they are more powerful by embracing all three instead of trying to be one over the other. We also encourage them to seek the similarities instead of the differences.
I have mixed feelings about some of the reactions from the people featured in the film. Some seemed confused and clueless about who they were. It made me feel like their upbringings might have tried to encourage one heritage over another and that what they are has been emphasized over who they are. I just hope that those that seemed confused can come to a place in which they don't put pressure on themselves about fitting in or trying to be one thing over another.

After listening to Mr. Chart’s explanation of why he chose to naturalize (basically that he strongly felt that Japan was his home) I realized that I actually feel the same way. I’m originally from Canada, and as much as I think it’s a great country, I don’t feel like it’s my home anymore. I’ve somehow, over the past 20+ years I’ve lived here, become culturally Japanese and just feel like this is where I fit. Sure, I know I’ll “never be accepted as Japanese”, but that fact is kind of irrelevant to my self identity. Basically, the reason I don’t formally naturalize is because my two daughters (who are half Japanese and half Canadian) want to try living in Canada in the future, and it has been suggested that my maintaining Canadian citizenship will make that easier for them.
Anyway, fantastic work Greg. I will be watching this again with my daughters soon. 🍻

As an Asian American this documentary hits home, you always question your identity on which you relate to more. I noticed the overall theme with each persons story is that is doesn’t matter, you are what you identify with. Embrace all sides of yourself and that’s what makes you, you. Thank you for sharing these stories Greg 😊 This will be great to share with your kids who I’m sure will go through these questions. I hope to see more people be open to Foreigners or Mixed Japanese people, your documentaries like this help start conversations and teach everyone how to be kind and to be open.

I would say that it falls in the category of great works of art written for an audience of real-life children (in this case your own), and as a result weaved with infinite care, dedication and sensitivity, so exploring a wide range of issues with a genuine curiosity. As a consequence of not framing those you interview in a pre-conceived storyline, you let their own story and words come through. This in turn leaves the listener free to experience the result on so many levels. Arigato gozaimasu!

My wife is half Japanese, her dad was a career airforce nco. We live in US and have enjoyed many of your videos and appreciate your perspective and willingness to bring strangers into your home and family. Along with John from "Only In Japan" your videos help connect my wife to her mother's culture and introduce our son to it as well. We feel that your work really goes a long way to shrink this world and bring understanding and appreciation between cultures. Having said that, this has to be your greatest project to date and, as others have mentioned, captured us for two straight hours watching these two incredible videos. I hope they go viral and help change some misinformed views, such as the one at beginning of video. We wish you continued success and look forward to more videos in the coming year!

Just completed watching 2 parts of this documentary and feeling an awful lot emotional... i myself is not japanese by any means and only searching on this topic for my assignment and found this and watched this for an almost 2 hours was really a heartwarming experience. I hope this video get more exposure in the internet because i feel like there is large amount of people whom are experiencing identity crisis and not knowing what their real roots and how to identify themselves to others. At the end of the video "dedicated to my children" made me cry a bit. What a dad. APPLAUSE!!!
