Men are people in that if you hold them in low esteem for protracted periods, this tends to become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I was given bell hook’s The will to change:men, masculinity and love when I was a 17 y/o (now 42) punk rocker. The person said you really want to be subversive read this. It did have a pretty profound impact on my world view. I’ve spoken to younger folks who have read it and they say it’s pretty dated. Still I think it’s worth a read!
