That's a very good question! For something made back in 1991, it still stands tall in Space Shooters today. Not to mention the synthesized hard metal tracks are incredible!
So in the end, The federation survived, But the pilot didn't... I would never thought I would See a shooting up game, Where the pilot sacrifices his or hers life to save The rest of humanity...
***** You hit the nail on the head. Kega Fusion has been my go-to emulator for quite some time. It seems to accept all BIOSes I've tossed at it, which makes SMS, Sega CD, and 32X gaming a breeze, too!
hoy llegué por 1ª vez al nivel 8, llevo tres días dandole serio, aún me queda tela para lograr pasarlo, este hombre es el jefe. El día que lo complete lloraré XD
@Ebb1993isgreat I know that your comment was posted one year ago, but.... The Orn Empire is only the main enemy for the first 5 stages of this game. For the second 5, you're up against a new foe called "Faust". I learned it from the article on the Japanese Wikipedia. So, more accurately, it would be "the Faust's very own Death Star you're infiltrating...".
@ModSquade wtf? the mastersystem?? I googled it but didn't find much. If its true, and they made it truw to this version (as near as can be) what a feat of programming
Fusion is pretty much a perfect emu speed wise. I have a long play from a emu that is pretty much bang on as far as speed goes. I guess it depends on your PC the emu and the rom you use to get the correct experience.
I don't know why but I'm laughing at the scenario of the boss originally going from rocketing its way at near-lightspeed to slowly tiptoeing its way to the top.
What emulator are you using? I had this game when it came out when i was 12 and beat it without cheats, id be interested to see if i still have the skill :P
This is just after Thunder Force 3. In the previous game, the ORN Empire was threatening the whole universe because of Khaos (sometimes spelled Cha Os), the leader of the ORN Empire. When everyone thought they destroyed the empire, it seems Khaos survived. (It is the last boss in this Thunder Force) This time, the threat of evil appeared as the form of VIOS. And guess who's its ruler? Khaos. You can actually see him on one of the pic at the end credits. It's the probe near the destroyed Rynex.

You can avoid the death of the pilots in the sega ages release on switch if you play through using the Rynex ship :D
this game blew my fuckin mind back in the days
Listen to this soundtrack.. I havent heard a shooter with such great music in such a long time
the best goddamn ending i've ever seen in a video game this is soo epic!!
loved this game and the soundtrack
The graphics, the music, the gameplay. One of the most epic mega drive games of the era. I want to say underrated, but those of us there know. 🫡
this game is by far the hardest game I've ever seen
Lol this difficulty is NOTHING compared to shmups like Battle Garregga, Radiant Silvergun, Super R-type, and Thunder Force AC.
@@sebastiann.8088 have you played thunder force ac? it's incredibly easy, i beat it on my first go with like 9 lives to spare
@@sebastiann.8088 The fun thing reading this is thunderforce AC is one of the coin-ops i could beat with a single coin... in 1992. I was eleven :)
@@sebastiann.8088 Gradius 3 too
The ship Rynex is destroyed in the end but it returns in Thunder Force V and becomes one of the Bosses of the game.
The robot dude?
@@jadendafinger The Orange ship known as Vasteel Original in Thunder Force V, Level 5 : Above the Earth.
Because Khaos controls it via the Guardian.
ByoNemesis oh thanks!
@@jadendafinger No problem!👍👍
Thunder Force IV is on Genesis/Megadrive
the graphics in this game are incredible! why don't modern games look as good?
I wish the final boss had you fighting the whole Rynax ship, not whatever that big green thing was
So 90's.

That sound is so nice.
Wow great gameplay! I always get stuck at the last boss on stage 8. Such a pain in the ass that thing is
Damn right ! i finally got this mthfckr today and it felt so good.

U r right. I have never seen an emulator who could really run TF4 as fast as the cartridge version. Emu's versios always have lot's of slowdowns...
Not anymooooore 😅
@SonicGDisc Not a problem. It doesnt sound too quiet on my end, but it can differ for others.
Glad you liked the video
Booby Master might just be a nick name for a staff member who has a way with the ladies.
2:53 The Faust is now destroyed and now we gotta get out of here.
plein de souvenir avec se jeux.
Who’s here after Silva’s boss theme fusion?

Beat the Final Boss:
1,000,000 Points!!!
+Kearl Lago Congratulations! Now try your luck on Maniac difficulty!
Just one of many "nom de guerres" for the creators of the game.
Huh.....I remember the pilots getting out alive?

Wait...what? Death Star cameo at the beginning?
That's the structure you enter later in the level
@ModSquade It's in the credits. 5:25

Booby Master........
ending pretty much like rayforce but much more hopeful
It is much better the final of thunder force iii
I prefer ThunderForce AC over Thunder Force III
me too
what is the story of this game? what is the final boss meant to be.
