And to think WWE buried his career during the invasion angle. SMH. DDP was so over in WCW. What could have been... I'm just glad he's so darn positive and has done such good work with some of my other childhood heroes.

DDP deserves a sainthood. The man has literally saved lives. Everyone that goes into the house with him comes out clean, sober, and seemingly 10 years younger. If it weren't for him, both Hall and Roberts would DEFINITELY not be with us anymore. And DDP Yoga has helped thousands upon thousands of people outside the wrestling world too find motivation, develop mindfulness practice, strengthen their inner peace,, and increase their physical health, muscle tone, and flexibility in ways that may not literally be crash course rehab, but definitely will help them live longer and more fulfilling lives

I remember not recognizing Kurt in TNA at first I thought he looked like a killer or a Cyborg but in hindsight it's just scary and he looks more like a man at his end. Thank God he beat his demons...with a broken freaking neck!

Despite DDP having a stupid storyline when he first came to the wwe, I'd say he has made up for that big mistake 100 times over by helping out his fellow wrestlers defeat their demons

Actually the reason he was released from WWE during the time he was in a lot of pain was that he had asked for his release and Vince gave it to him but he was very upset that Kurt was leaving

Jake The Snake should be #1. Also, how TF is Eddie Guerrero not on here? He battled drugs, alcohol, the streets, and came back not only stronger and more popular than ever, but became WWE champion.

My uncle who didn’t watch wrestling as often as I did.
Seen Joey Mercury wrestling one match and said “what the hell, did they change Eugene’s gimmick?”
I could never take the model gimmick with him seriously after that, because I seen it, and couldn’t unsee it.

I don’t know if it counts because he still died young but eddie’s comeback in the early 2000’s was pretty impressive and admirable. He just had done too much damage by then.

I actually got to meet mark mero before when I was I think a sophomore or junior, he got to tell his stories about his great run with the wwe and his addiction battles, the man is an embodiment of his own faith in himself now that he could overcome the battle of addiction, it was inspiring

I remember hearing that Kurt was refusing to go to rehab and WWE released him because they didn’t want him to die while in the company. They expected him to die, that’s how bad his situation got.
I’m a recovering addict, I would mix opiates and booze every night for over a year. I came close to dying on my kitchen floor July 5, 2019. I can understand what was happening with a lot of these guys, I was starting an MMA career and a freak accident led to me having a shoulder reconstruction surgery and being told I’d never be able to fight. It ended everything. I didn’t think I was suicidal, but I was. I’m only alive because of my mom. I’m now clean and sober with a full time job I love.

My favorite quote about Shawn Michaels faith came from Paul (Triple H) when people were making fun of Shawn finding God..."I've never heard of anyone ODing from believing in God" (or something like that). Nothing could be truer. As an agnostic I just don't know but if Shawn's faith helped him to clean up his act, & stay clean, then more power to him & God.
