In a sense I think they’re saying look at how well he did not even trying what could things have been if he had actually given a damn
Adam I respectfully disagree with you about Booker T. While Booker T did say that it was more like a vacation, than a job I do personally believe he did do wonderful things as a part of TNA. I personally think X-Pac from January 2010 would have been a better fit.
Booker did well in TNA in my opinion I mean he's one of the few on this list who actually could still wrestle. His success was just overshadowed by Angle, Styles and Sting.
Test should have debuted in TNA with the tag "The Final Exam, Andrew Martin." and had a heel gym teacher gimmick where he would give others fitness advice and implications that he deals in "juice".
Honorable mention Tyson Tomko. Though this was TNA’s fault. He came back in as Christian’s problem solver, but he gain so much momentum to the point that he was the most over guy on the roster, more than both Angle and Christian. So what does TNA do? Turn him heel and become Kurt Angle’s bodyguard. His momentum died over night and it killed his career. His last appearance I recall was Christian calling him a bitch in a promo. Fitting.
Now there should be a "10 WWE Superstars Who Flourished in TNA" with people like Kurt Angle, Christian Cage, Gail Kim, Team 3D (especially Bully Ray), etc.
That would require Cultaholic to say something positive about TNA/Impact, without the backhandedness so not likely to happen. Agreed though, Christian Cage and Kurt Angle would 100% be the clear 1 and 2 I think. Team 3D, Rhino, Gail Kim, EC3, and Bobby Lashley (before his WWE championship reign) would probably make that list too. Although maybe way too early to include Cass/Morrissey, but the dude has been LEGIT since his debut, which I would have never imagined.
Ok this is mad weird looking back at this list to see Trevor Murdoch on it with him now being NWA World's Heavyweight Champion. Yep Impact Wrestling def screwed up not signing him
Through the last couple of years Trevor Murdoch's has had a solid run in the NWA, last year he held the NWA National Heavyweight Championship for 182 days.
You missed Murdoch's earlier run in TNA as a real stand-up kind of guy. And I think every era of Dustin Runnels' career REIGNS! Even though he clearly was going through personal issues. I'm glad he could bounce back from his lows.
The Black Reign gimmick could've been something though! That's whats even more frustrating about it! Remove his addiction issues, put him in his current AEW Shape & Mindset & remove all semblance of Bischoff, Hogan, Russo etc. He could've easily pulled off a dark, twisted, evil version of Goldust, especially in a company that isn't afraid of actual Hardcore Wrestling.

The man is everything that organization ever stood for!

Too bad Impact Wrestling/TNA was actually a good viable alternative WWE in it's day. Too bad it was later known as that place where ex WWE stars go to.
What a dumb comment, its wrestling, wrestlers can go wherever they want, almost every major wwe star of the last decade came from other companies, mostly roh but also impact. In fact i think joe and aj alone even wwe and impact out wwe would have sucked without them.
@@michaelwoods3141 that's true, but that's not what I meant in my comment. What I was saying was that TNA was a good alternative for people who didn't like the WWE product and still want to watch wrestling, it's just after a while it felt like TNA was trying to artificially grow itself by trying to sign up anyone who was in WWE for a cup of coffee instead of focusing on its homegrown Talent like AJ or Joe.
@@reygonzalez4719 People have this weird recollection of TNA. NWA-TNA days had a hell of a lot more random WWE, WCW, and ECW wrestlers showing up out of nowhere, on top of Jeff Jarrett constantly in the main event scene. Even Hogan era had some way better stuff than back then, although the bad was definitely REALLY BAD. 2012 alone had Bobby Roode, James Storm, Jeff Hardy, Austin Aries, Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, and Sting in a stacked main event/upper card scene. As opposed to Jeff Jarrett running through everybody? Then the rest of the card still had names Like Bad Influence/SCU, Zema Ion, Kenny King, Samoa Joe, Magnus, RVD, Chris Sabin, Gunner, and EC3. Impact today since 2018 have been putting on way better overall PPVs than TNA back in the day, honestly. Back then, PPVs were kinda hit and miss overall with the only redeeming matches usually being the X Division. But nowadays the PPVs are good top to bottom.
I think with Orlando Jordan (and Damien Sandow in his last few weeks in TNA) they forgot one simple thing, wrestling fans don't like sexual deviancy gimmicks.
Katie Lea Burchill was also in TNA. Her in-ring performer name was Winter. She rivaled Victoria/Tara. Dixie ruined her and barely even gave her a chance to prove herself. She didn't even make it to 6 months in the company.

2010 was the peak of "Hey, instead of using the current talent we have. Let's bring-in a whole bunch of old guys and push them" mentality TNA had at that point. It didn't help that they developed the fascination of bringing-in every single name that gotten released by WWE around that time as well. All for a pointless ratings war with Monday Night Raw that did nothing for them.
None of those so called "flops were expected to be anything but mid card guys. And please they didn't sign every WWE release, Benjimin. Haas. A Train and others didn't get signed. But it's funny AEW is signing more ex WWE talent than TNA but with zero backlash?
Dustin Rhodes' "Black Reign" was too much like Ed Leslie’s “Zodiac” character in WCW. Both in appearance as well as making people question “what the hell is this supposed to be?”
No former WWE superstar ever flopped in TNA like Ric Flair did. Most of people on this list were not in TNA long enough to even try to make something. Flair was there for full two years and except for the very start as mentor to AJ Styles, Kazarian and Beer Money, everything else is best to be totally forgotten. Flair himself has said many times that he regretted signing with TNA and that he didn't have a single positive memory about it.
The worst thing to me about Orlando Jordan's bisexual gimmick was that he was hoping that it would help other bisexual people come out, and be comfortable with themselves. All the while, everybody at TNA was treating him like a freak. Cause, well, he was acting like one. The gimmick was a 90s caricature without any actual sex. I wouldn't be surprised if it actually caused several bisexuals to stay in the closet for longer because of how bad it was.
That opening included one of my pet peeves...the misuse of famous phrases and idioms...in this case "the grass is always greener on the other side". Adam starts by saying its not true for WWE wrestlers who failed in TNA....but the saying is meant to convey that! It's meant to be a cautious warning...similar to "you dont know what you've got til its gone"...its supposed to convey the idea that things always look better from afar and you dont know how good you have it because you're more interested in what you dont. That's why the grass *always* looks greener on the otherside...no matter which side youre on!
I think Orlando Jordan's bi gimmick was about ten years too soon. With the current crop of artists out there like Little Nas X and Sam Smith doing what their doing. His gimmick would have fit right in.
10:29 Well of course Dustin was not in a good place at the time- he was in TNA! It's simply _incredible_ how good he in AEW today, honestly, although he probably shouldn't have beaten Nick Comoroto in that bullrope match last Dynamite.
WHO THE WERE the bashums, 3 times during this video I had to rewind, because I honestly couldn't remember their names. Not a Rikishi fan, but loved The Wild Somoans!
If Prince Iaukea (The Artist managed by Paisley/Sharmell) had gone to impact wrestling, he would have been known as Burger King the second. The first being Jerry The King Lawler. And imagine Prince Iaukea and Sharmell together again but this time with King Booker in impact wrestling.
I wouldn't call Booker a flop in TNA. Sure he didn't win the world title, but he created and defended TNA's legends championship, and also won the tag title with Scott Steiner. What was going on with TNA back then is kinda like what happened with AEW. Tons of great talents were signed around the same time, like Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson, Keith Lee, Miro, Andrade. I know Adam managed to break through in AEW, but the problem is that not everybody's meant to be top of the card. During the Main Event Mafia times, Booker was kinda overshadowed by Sting and Kurt Angle. Sure, he didn't achieve the same level of success he got in WCW or WWE, but it's kinda hard to write him off as a total flop compared to some of these other names.
I'm just shocked that TNA didn't try to rebrand Test as "Quiz".

Black rain was good shout out to my boy markyd
Do 10 TNA wrestlers who flopped in WWE . Robert Roode is the main example
Everyone that went but AJ?
I think Orlando Jordan's bi gimmick was about ten years too soon. With the current crop of artists out there like Little Nas X and Sam Smith doing what their doing. His gimmick would have fit right in.
That Booker T entry seemed a little rubbish
Especially when he's holding a title in pretty much every picture.
*Illogical clusterbastard* is definitely something I'm stealing. Thanks, Pacitti!
Wait, why did you talk about Booker T? That was not Booker T, that was Black Snow.
10:29 Well of course Dustin was not in a good place at the time- he was in TNA! It's simply _incredible_ how good he in AEW today, honestly, although he probably shouldn't have beaten Nick Comoroto in that bullrope match last Dynamite.
Had no idea Rikishi was in tna
Razor ramon worked some matches with jeff too in 2004/2005
Personally TNA was my favourite, WCW second and i only watched WWE Royal Rumbles, but not seen those for 2 years lol.
I wouldn’t say Booker flopped. I mean, he did give us Black Snow 🤷🏾♂️
"Im Adam Panini" 😂😂
