      Sweet set up.I have a valiant eagle also, it probably go better with toadfish. The megtron drag is heavy AF even dialed back. That baby for deep sea 3ft long fish and bigger. I been dieing to hook up to a bull red with it to unlock its potential.

      @@desmondc.1099 Hey there. I'm trying to find information on this reel. I'm looking to be doing so catfishing. like blues and channel and I seen the power on this reel. Will this reel be able to handle it you think? Or even pikes. Thanks for the reply on this.

      @@DaveTormala You can fish for anything with it. I have never locked down drag and most fish I hook up to get man handled(Biggest 29in Red). To maximize reel power make sure your rod and line can hanlde the 33lbs of reel drag.

      @@desmondc.1099 got the ugly stick elite series the 7.7ft rod. I seen someone else using that poll and they mentioned they were use that same reel for there fish. This guy was pulling out large black drums red fish too. So I'm confident that the fish pole should hold well. Plus I love the feature where you can use braided line at ease with it.

      I love my 3000, it goes with me on all my saltwater adventures. I have a 6000 but I need a nasty rod to put it on with Heavy Braid for the Gulf of Mexico. I've had some bad ass fights with the 3000 but its hard to start the go pro in the middle of a battle Lol.

    Is the low end drag pressure that heavy or did you just have it locked down.

    • @desmondc.1099

      Low end is Heavy. I wouldn't lock it down unless im deep sea. One day ill take my 3000 deep sea diving with locked down drag. Megatron 3000 drag max out @ 33lbs

      The rods are fine, im not a heavy fisherman. I work to much for that and i have so many species i target and sometime those rods get left at home. Lately i been catfishing. You just missed a Toadfish spring sale a few weeks back $85.00. I was soooo tempted to get another one

    Just picked up a 2k to see if it can replace one of my Pursuit 3k reels for lighter tackle fishing in the Indian River. The retrieve looked a little rough on that red. How do you like the reel so far?

    • @desmondc.1099
      @desmondc.1099  4 года назад +2

      I like the reel, the drag is really Heavy maybe that's why it seem a rough on the retrieve . That red didn't run wit it, i was waiting for it to take off but it never happened. Small reel with lots of hoisting power. I don't get a lot of time to fish to put it through hell. Hopefully ill get back on the water after this Virus madness.
