How could you run it in such a resolution? I also have ultrawide monitor, but I can not set the resolution to more than 1920x1080. I found information on the Nvidia website that drivers do not know how to work with sound via HDMI in higher resolution. I don't need sound, but I can't solve the problem even knowing it.
nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3160/~/using-hdmi-audio-with-displays-that-have-a-high-native-resolution This is what I found in the release notes of the last driver for XP
Depends on the card I think. I’m using the GT 240 with its on board HDMI. You can also try getting a DisplayPort capable card as long as it’s a GTX 700 series or older as those are the last generation to support windows XP drivers
Funny actually. The bigger brother 38 inch ultra wide that I upgraded to will only output its max 1600p resolution via a maximum refresh rate of 30 Hz even over DisplayPort. So Windows XP becomes very limited to the features it can handle. Which graphics card are you using?
@@AMPTechGrade I use 750Ti, the problem is, no displayport on the card. There is only HDMI, VGA, DVI. I want to try this with DVI - HDMI adapter. But the point in the release notes says that some monitors emulate DVI when working through HDMI (such as Viewsonic VX2835wm and Westinghouse LVM- 37w3-as), I thought you found a way to do this on your monitor. Do you have HDMI video + sound simultaneously with high resolution?
@@gavrilaivanov4419 I didn't have to do any trickery. I think it's because the GT 240 has a chipset aimed at being better compatible with Windows XP. I also have a GTX 770 which has displayport and has no issues. Im surprised you don't have displayport on your 750ti. That card should come with displayport. I would shop around for another 750ti with the port.
This is. It’s overkill to be honest though and I feel you’ll be better off with a DVI monitor as this only supports HDMI or DVI so you’d need a graphics card compatible with XP with those ports
Hi! How did you get the monitor to display before booting? Isn't the driver for it activated after you boot in an OS? I have a Dell 27' gaming monitor (S2721HGF) and I just can't get it to work with my Dell Vostro 3750 laptop running Windows XP. I'd love to know how to get Windows XP to display on a modern gaming monitor.
Welp for starters, laptops will always default to their built in display when booting, and then connect to external displays when boot is complete. Another thing is what connections are on the laptop, vga, dvi?
@@AMPTechGrade Okay, so the laptop has an Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 video card (the default, to which its display connects) and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M graphics card, to which the external monitor connects. It has two video ports, an HDMI for the NVIDIA, and a VGA, which I think is for the built-in Intel. I got the drivers for the laptop's components working, but not for the external monitor. The monitor works on Windows 10, so that tells me that it can work with the GeForce via HDMI. After a lot of debugging this is where I think the issue, or part of it, is: in the external monitor's driver installation .inf file there's one line that calls to a system file: monitor.sys. But Windows XP doesn't have it, at least the versions that I tried, so the driver installation would end in an exitcode error. I downloaded the file off the net, put it in the system32/drivers folder so the installer would find it, the installation would complete successfully, but in device manager I'd get the yellow exclamation mark and the error message that Windows could not load the device driver for the monitor (Code 39). I'm interested in getting the parts working together 'cause I would like to switch to Windows XP full time.
Windows 10 and 11 are far away from XP's perfect design and detail masterpiece, too bad we won't have something like this anymore.
What’re the PC specs? What video output did you use?
That is so awesome! You should try Windows Vista next.
UndeadPianist16 that is a pretty good idea actually that can be next

Can Windows 2000 Run 2560 By 1080
I think its dependent on the graphics card you have and if there’s a supoorted driver for it
