The reason why curved treadmills cost more is because the design of where the joints are located to absorb the impact when you jog. On a standard flat treadmill it easy to place them. But on a curved treadmill you have to put them in certain places so it can absorb it since its curved. After jogging on a curved treadmill for a month and still using a motorized treadmill once a week I can say this I have no injuries or soreness on my calves with the curved treadmill.
I’m a competitive runner and multi sport athlete so running is my number one activity for training but I know pretty little about treadmills but a new job has changed my schedule a lot and I need something at home inside for early running… should I be considering these curved/non motorized treadmills for my training (anywhere from 8-13 miles a day average but could be more if I’m training for a marathon) or are these better for short sprint/ interval training? Anything that you’d specifically recommend I look at? Thanks!
Weighing in my opinion here-I’m thinking a motorized treadmill might be better considering how your foot strikes the ground. Also being able to customize setting/keeping pace and adding incline or resistance if you’d like to mimic a hill/tempo run. Hope this helps!
Definitely not the cheapest out there. I just watched two videos a guy posted on the Signature Fitness SF-S2. Only $1000 shipped, also from WM. He was fairly satisfied with it, but I wouldn't go for it. This one has a better console.
I have a motorized tread that I use to do speedwork on and I get tired of the feeling of having to "keep up" with the belt and was hoping that a non motorized would be a bit more realistic when it comes to running fast. Im not concerned with "bells and whistles" I just want to jump on and run hard. It sounds like this no frills mill will do the trick. How is it for running?
why are these so much expensive? I mean.. they have less components and less technology than other treadmills ..but somehow they are as expensive or more. look at this unit: you are going to say there is even $1000 worth of parts in there? really? this is crazy.

Alright Coop how can I win this?
How many bearings?
My monitor isn't registering with the runner.. any ideas?
Definitely not the cheapest out there. I just watched two videos a guy posted on the Signature Fitness SF-S2. Only $1000 shipped, also from WM. He was fairly satisfied with it, but I wouldn't go for it. This one has a better console.
Which did you end up with? Dick's got this for $2k
I am Scott.
why are these so much expensive? I mean.. they have less components and less technology than other treadmills ..but somehow they are as expensive or more. look at this unit: you are going to say there is even $1000 worth of parts in there? really? this is crazy.
I just bought one for $1600 including shipping with an online coupon for 30% off.
What site was this?
Can you do sprints on them
Interim garage gym.. isn’t that the camera guys garage gym!
How is sprinting on this?? It looked like you could of ran straight off of it
Anyone have a clue on how to change the display from miles to kilometers and visa versa?
I hate it when a new product like that arrives with scratches. Just terrible the way some companies fail to protect their product during shipping.
It comes out of the box with true grit all over it. I would have left it dirty.
It’s been 4 months since this review…8 months now? How do you like it now and has it held up? Also can you just remove and not install those weird plastic trim pieces?
