RC LEGO Technic Baja Trophy Truck

  • After a long time, the new 2.0 LEGO Technic RC Baja Trophy Truck MOC has arrived!
    It has an rear-wheel-drive driven train without differentials which makes it extremely capable on difficult terrains. The RWD reduce the driventrain complexity and thus the friction problems on the last version, which increases it's efficiency and durability. This characteristic also makes it more fun to drive and make better donuts! And the Off-Road capabilities keep being pretty high, since it doesen't have diferentials.
    It is powered by an Alternative RC Buggy Motor and to control it, I use a Mould King powered Module.
    It has independent double wishbone suspension in the front and live axle in the back.
    The steering mechanism is powered by an Alternative LEGO Servo, faster, stronger & cheaper than the original.

    Firstly, thanks a lot for idea and the free instructions! Just finished the build these days, a couple of observations: 1) the front linkage is pretty weak and gets loose *very* often. The tight turning radius is great but probably one reason for the issue. I added a full-width front fender to give at least some protection for impact related issues (since my kids drive the truck as well) 2) the upper chasis is rather weak, upon impact it always gets loose. 3) it never seems to run straight. I could not track down the issue, it either tilts slightly to left or right. Maybe the combo of cog and sawtooth brick just doesn't fit 4) the binary / nonproportional servo is a pity. Looking for a proportional one but combo with MK 6.0 box seems a showstopper.
    Thinking about merging this model with the gearboxed blue Cada monster truck, which is super sturdy in the chasis, has 4wd but is too slow in 2nd gear. Just need to find a way to fit that big motor into the Cada.

    I didn't have any of the elctronics featured in the instructions but i did have powered up, its is actually very simple to integrate powered up into this MOC as you just replace the servo motor with a PU L Motor and just slide the battery pack sideways into where the original module would go. But, the rear axle is a little harder to do.

    • @adriablancafort
      @adriablancafort  Год назад +1

      The Mould King servos don't have proportional control. The Mould King 6.0 Module does. So you have to use it with original LEGO Servos (the only way to get proportional control). However I prefer using mould king servos because they are substantially faster, stronger and cheaper.

    Thank you so much for your sharing of the instructions! I learnt a lot in the building process. However there are several downsides for this moc, I hope you don't mind, I say with full respect:

    • @CantAim00
      @CantAim00 11 месяцев назад

      1.The power & direct drive is kind of problematic, the battery shut down a lot. it cant go up hill, only down or flat, you can see this in your video, there were no uphill runs.

    • @CantAim00
      @CantAim00 11 месяцев назад

      2. Steering connection is easily broken, the ball come out when bump, and hard to insert it in again. this is fixable, either control the ball movement like what you did for other ball joints, or put the ball directly on the rack, and using 5 stud connection instead of 6 stud mormal one. I don't think lego has it but many Chinese made 5 stud ball connections.

    • @CantAim00
      @CantAim00 11 месяцев назад

      Again thank you so much for such a wonderful design! 👍

    • @CantAim00
      @CantAim00 11 месяцев назад

      3.the moving part of the real live axle should use tenons without friction, not the black and blue ones with friction. but from your video I believe you made the instruction wrong rather than a design problem.
