Omg, seeing you walking without hard blade guards is painfull 😅 I don't know what that guy in the shop was thinking, but the main rule for blades care is to always wear hard guard when you are walking in your skates - everywhere besides ice, even if there's carpet or other soft cover. Any random tiny stone can ruin your blades, and we don't want that, do we 😁 Also, no, you can't walk in soakers, those are only for soaking the condensated moisture after the skating. You walk off the ice, put on hard guards till you take off your skates, then you take off hard guards, wipe your skated and blades with a towel and put on soakers. At home you take you skates out of the bag, take off the soakers, open the boot an let it get some fresh air :) Maybe you already know all that by now, but just in case 😉

Hey thanks for the comment. The skates actually did have guards on them but they were just inconspicuous 🙂And I have to get better at taking my skates out of the bag post skate😳

Just found your channel! 🤗 are the reidells comfortable? I'm currently in Jacksons and they are sooooo painful. I also love the fit of reidells roller skates and wonder if the reidell figure skates would be better

They were very painful at first especially at the tongue area. I did break them in a bit before outdoor iceskating season ended here and they felt better.
I think support and structure is prioritzed over comfort in instructonal/competition figure skates and even roller skates unfortunately. The really comfortable looking ones are recreactional...
      Did you get professionally fitted?
