I was once told by one of the dads at a track that I needed to spend over 5k to be competitive at the top. Funny that I ended up winning the race I was in and lapped his son.

Ive had a similar experience pretty recently when someone overheard my conversation with another racer complaining about the levels of grip and this guy just said in a snobby way "Well you will with that amount of droop" and walked off. I thought to myself do I say something or make a smart arse remark back but I chose to use his negative attitude to help me. I made some setup changes including my droop and my car was so much better. I even thought about thanking the guy in a sarcastic manner but couldn't find him. Some people can't help themselves from being di*kheads I suppose! Happy racing!
I've had similar to that. I would struggle to not be sarcastic, I'll be honest, but it would be weeks later though, when the timing is about right.
I completely agree with the points you made. Fed up with bad behaviour being tolerated. Fed up with things being taken so seriously (tyres/cost). The emphasis on fun is not a priority. Clubs should listen to the racers and help provide what they want. Problem is clubs like TORCH don't listen and its always a top down dictatorship. Even when you are on the committee people don't listen. So with that all in mind I've quit racing! Much happier bashing and going to crawler meetings where fun is the priority.
Hello Mr Williams. Thanks for watching, it means a lot. Quit racing? wow, that's extreme, I still enjoy 8th at the mo, when I get the time that is. Differences aside, Glad you're all good. Ever been to Bordon? I take my Outlaw there while a mate often has his TRX4 or his new Sandero.
@@21ccFilms I’ve really not raced much over the past 2 years. I think I just enjoy spending my hobby money elsewhere. I’m glad you still enjoy 8th. I have indeed been to Bordon. I often go with my crawlers and my Traxxas Maxx. Maybe we should all head out at some point.

I ran a club and we had kids turn up with tamiya QD so we changed the track for them so a lot shorter so didn't make them look as slow kids were very happy.
Clubs are full of wankers tbh. They all like to think they are new bro friendly but they are the exact opposite. You always get the wallet racers preaching on about how good this latest kit is and how great those engines and batteries are and so most would be racers fathers and children are put off the minute they get there because what they got for their money is basically called crap.
The Manufacturers, thc clubs and the BRCA are doing their very best to kill RC racing in this country !
As for brca membership do the clubs not have third party insurance to cover accidents etc .......so why insist that every racer should have their own insurance ..( compulsory just like TV licence fee )...total bollocks you tell me anything
We used to have a great regional series years ago many venues would have 80-100 racers turn up. Then it all changed 1 guy decided he should run it and it should be run to brca regs............guesss what....he tried to make it more elitist .......it died .that series no longer exists, but that sad prick is still preaching on about brca this & that.
You make some valid points. From your last couple of sentences, you appear to have a particular person in mind.
