Totally agree about aftermarket wheel trims, glad i'm not the only one who thinks they look ugly. I don't understand why sellers would take off original wheel trims for aftermarket ones. Having original ones also shows that the car has previously driven by a careful driver. I saw a seller on youtube buy a peugeot to sell on once, it had all four wheel trims but he chose to take those off and put aftermarket ones on instead, breaks my heart to see that.

Enjoyed the video James (as usual), nice to see your process again. Just one question, as a Barnstaple resident, which Costa was it? High Street, Roundswell or the one near Halfords? 😂
I find bud rather than waste time talking to people like on that micra, telling them what needs to be done, I get on and do it, I bet a couple of hours would have it looking OK, 99% of people are totally unable to do anything, they can't see beyond a wash and vac out, I don't even bother showing people cars that aren't ready, I'd rather use the time to work on then, occasionally it works out, but rarely and you always get less money than one sorted, that's why I've got 38 stood mate!
Most on e Bay mate are in the 3000 plus, you've done that far too cheap, you'll not get e Bayers been as genorous as you if cat or something goes, tbh 2795 should have been as it was if they were on a budget, I don't think you should be moaning about a lowish profit as you've eaten into it with delivery, warranty, 200 quid to the garage and all that, hope they don't come back in the next few mths mate.
You show it all mate as not everyone wants to get their hands dirty and would prefer to spend the time sourcing more stock etc to do higher volumes. As you know doing it all yourself will always limit the volume you can do. Possible £300 saved doing it all myself and removing the warranty but another full day of prep. I can sort a second motor in that day with £1000 net margin in it.
@@ChopsGarage I know mate, but on that say micra I'd have a couple of hours on it, that's it, pop it next to your unit, quick advert you'll sell it quick sticks, don't mention warranty, I did that this week with an old 04 206,quick advert, vallet, top up the levels, 995,phone was going mad, sold first morning, decent wage in it, or leave it standing around and get 350 trading it?
Where is the Saturday Labour to clean the car off 🙂 I think I would look at some sort of neoprene or rubber gasket material to replace those sponge material seals Obvious design flaw from Peugeot
Tbh bud, you need to be doing service, 15 mins, check over, new battery, brake pipe, battery 50,oil filters 30,save 100 quid min, basically (in my view) 100 quid saved on WW, 100 quid on prep saved, 3295 you'd have done 1100 quid, 5 quids worth of fuel as well, at least you've come down from a full tank!
@@ChopsGarage not like you mate, wasn't high miles was it? 61 plate would be 2300 plus at auction with 70, 80k on, I think you got it cheap enough, I've just got a I 20 for 850 bid tho, 10 plate, but 126k on it, noticed you never did that dented nose!
Amazing job although could you not have done anything with the dent on the silver trim on the front bumper? Sticks out like a sore thumb in the video so no doubt the buyer would've saw it, unless she doesn't mind since it is a 12 year old car.
I’ll probably get some hate for this but I miss the car vertical ads. One thing I normally like about you is the ads are normally very related to the channel. No hate I’ll still watch regardless. I understand it’s a necessity.
I am 72, if I were your age, then there is no-way that I would even post this comment. James, you could train up a school leaver and offer a "CG-standards" valeting and wheel service for a good profit every day. In fact, if you get it right, no need to sell any cars. No worry with 6-month come-backs on waranty work with your high detail valeting, in fact, every 6 months they come back; again and again. Then you do a national frachise. Then you sell the entire national franchise business to investors for 10 million, and Bob's your uncle.
James, I’ll say it again, the attention to detail you show on these cars is above and beyond. Work like this can only add even more to your reputation further.
Great video mate, tbh I'm surprised you took 2795, I bet if you'd cleaned, prepped it first you'd have 3295 d it, there's just no small cheapies about, same with the micra, quick jiff round and a couple of jobs, bet they don't come back anyway as its a classic get out, oh I'll check mot history, ins ect, great paint job for a can, if you could have done say 700 net on that pug I'd have thought that's pretty good, can't agree about FB loads of dodgy pretend private sellers selling cars with serious issues, personally it's proper main dealer auctions for me, tbh if you'd have bought 10 like that 107 from bca you'd be doing good money, better I suspect than a masser, disco and all those big ticket items, also just do 30 days warranty, I mean 61 plate, 2795,6 mths warranty, service, any comebacks done, bit genorous mate, 07s are doing 1800 at auction now.
cleaning an engine/engine bay hides oil leaks as your washing the oil away. thats why a lot of people prefer a "honest" engine bay and cleaning it its an old fashioned trick that car dealers used to do when they put short warranties on cars (30 days or sold as seen etc) especially cam cover/rocker/oil sump gasket leaks. (after washing the engine clean around the leaking gasket with brake clean and wipe clean with a cloth and smear vulcanising rubber solution (same stuff you use for fixing puntures in pedal bikes) around the outside of the gasket and rub it in with your finger remove the excess with a cloth and leave it to dry it will rubberize.. all the cracks will be filled and it will stop the leaks for about a month right until the warranty runs out then it will start leaking again..customers problem then) i know this as i used to be a car valeter for a garage back in the day and was taught all those tricks!.
You won't sell cars with dirt engine bays, not for decent money anyway. They all get cleaned regardless. Warranties make no difference, the law is 6 months so a quick wash is not going to hide a serious problem long enough for 6 months
@@ChopsGarage I pressure wash every Bay mate, they'll not buy with mucky engines, except you'd sold it prior so might not have bothered, watch fords, plug Wells totally fill up.
John, to me, a thilthy engine bay just shows poor preparation. Personally I'd rather a clean engine bay so as to keep an eye on everything and know nothing was leaking. Whatever vehicle I buy I like to take them for a really good motorway run and then check absolutely everything.
I bet you took 2795 mate coz it was not prepped, then you prepped it, once done I'd not take that, quick ad, 3295,stuff selling proper retail cars like that cheap,

What are you doing with the blue Micra James 😉😂
Brilliant video 👍
Thanks
OMG polisher on the concrete....James NO! It touches the floor it's in the bin.
I wondered who would spot LOL
nice one james
@@ChopsGarage I know mate, but on that say micra I'd have a couple of hours on it, that's it, pop it next to your unit, quick advert you'll sell it quick sticks, don't mention warranty, I did that this week with an old 04 206,quick advert, vallet, top up the levels, 995,phone was going mad, sold first morning, decent wage in it, or leave it standing around and get 350 trading it?
well done Chops
James get a work bench, make life so much easier !
Got 4 lol
Where is the Saturday Labour to clean the car off 🙂 I think I would look at some sort of neoprene or rubber gasket material to replace those sponge material seals Obvious design flaw from Peugeot
Tbh bud, you need to be doing service, 15 mins, check over, new battery, brake pipe, battery 50,oil filters 30,save 100 quid min, basically (in my view) 100 quid saved on WW, 100 quid on prep saved, 3295 you'd have done 1100 quid, 5 quids worth of fuel as well, at least you've come down from a full tank!
I could not see myself getting 3295 for it bhd, Autotrader reckoned only worth 2600 ish
No she did not mind so I left it, remember she saw it pre prep
Afternoon James
Hi buddy
I’ll probably get some hate for this but I miss the car vertical ads. One thing I normally like about you is the ads are normally very related to the channel.
No hate I’ll still watch regardless. I understand it’s a necessity.
prob because the verticals were done when the cars were acquired on prev vid/s
Will make her a great little car
I am 72, if I were your age, then there is no-way that I would even post this comment. James, you could train up a school leaver and offer a "CG-standards" valeting and wheel service for a good profit every day. In fact, if you get it right, no need to sell any cars. No worry with 6-month come-backs on waranty work with your high detail valeting, in fact, every 6 months they come back; again and again. Then you do a national frachise. Then you sell the entire national franchise business to investors for 10 million, and Bob's your uncle.
I could retire, and clean my cars lol!
James, I’ll say it again, the attention to detail you show on these cars is above and beyond. Work like this can only add even more to your reputation further.
Very much appreciated bud
Ooooo unexpected late upload 👌
👍👍
👍
Cordialement,
The sound these cars make sounds like a fart
They do lol
How much is the blue mini please
He went over it 3 or 4 videos back, needs plenty of work so spares or repair deal only. Think he said under £500 then.
Vpn's will be band on Netflix in the next couple of months
I think they already are but you just refresh the page if they block
I can't praise enough how good James preps. all his cars up however that model Pug. 106 has the ugliest front of any car I've seen
Many thanks!
I bet you took 2795 mate coz it was not prepped, then you prepped it, once done I'd not take that, quick ad, 3295,stuff selling proper retail cars like that cheap,
