Dimash dedicated this song to Denis Tien (who danced the arrangement on ice, to the SOS song sung by Dimash at the 2018 Winter Olympics) during a concert in London 19th November 2018 (exactly four months after the tragic death of Denis, who died on July 19, 2018). Denis Tien Olympic bronze medalist from Sochi (2014) and participant in the Olympic Games (2010, 2018 - while dancing at the Olympics, he suffered an injury and took only 27th place), medalist of the world championships, champion of four continents (2015), champion of the Asian Games (2011) and five-time champion of Kazakhstan.

SONG HISTORY: Kazakh poet Shomishpay, wrote words to “Karagim-ai” (translated “Apple of My Eye”) approx 25 yrs ago as a dedication to his daughter before she married. He wrote of his worry, how the life of his daughter/groom will be, what awaits her ahead and shares life’s/marriage meaning w/ her. The poet then asked “Kenes Duisekeev”, to compose the music. While doing so, Kenes Duisekeev only thought of “his” only sister, who died at 19 yrs old. He composed it imagining what “his” father would have felt at her wedding. Therefore, the song turned out not only about the poet’s daughter, who is getting married, but about the composer’s sister, who did not live to see her wedding. BTW you look beautiful in this video :) Yes this was Dimash perfrorming his SOS song during his Arnau Tour i guess. It was a concert in Astana, Kazakhstan. Some pieces were cut out from this perfroance here, because ths song was dedicated to his friend , Kazakh ice scater and bronze medalist Denis Ten, who was stabbed to death by car robbers trying to steal car mirrors from his car. Denis was only 25 years old. He was shown ice scating in this video (there is a very brief moment here when we can see him) and he was also singing here, because Dimash and him planned to sing together, After the song ended Dimash handed a bouquet of lowers to Denis's mom. Very moving moment. Tjank you so much for being back to Dimash... I am looking forward for more and manybe some Elvis videos? It’s sometimes difficult when we hear the backstory behind particular performances. You’re right that he corrected some earlier pronunciation issues. But it is more the emotional connectivity that he has with this song that brings it to the next level.

Wow, I hadn’t seen this version before - fabulous!! That wasn’t the best idea, IMO, putting him in a cage (even a beautiful one). Part of Dimash’s performance is his free movements over the stage, his hand and arm gestures, and that setting constrained that freedom. Also, I really hope he doesn’t have a fear of heights, lol. Dimash LOVES heights and it was his idea to be in there. In fact his production managers have to very often give in to Dimash's needs to be coming down from ceilings on ropes, being up super high on stage props, going up on hydraulic platforms while playing his dombra. And in fact during his MJ tribute (Bastau concert) they hooked two cables to him and had him "floating" over the stage during Earth Song. He's a daredevil at heart that makes his crew cringe and very nervous often during concerts 😂😂 💜🤗💜🤗💜🤗💜🤗💜

The Premiere of this film took place in Italy on October 8, 2020. Dimash could't participate in this event, due to the pandemic. Your first reaction to this song was recorded 5 month ago, and it looked like that there were many technical difficulties. Ciao Lucia. Hai visto il concerto ARNAU di Nursultan da cui è tratto questo video? La canzone è stata dedicata a Denis Ten. C'è tutta una parte che è stata tolta dal video su MTV dove Denis canta (lui e Dimash avrebbero dovuto collaborare ma poi Denis è stato ucciso). È estremamente emozionante e commovente. Inoltre non so come abbia fatto Dimash a mantenere la concentrazione e cantare lì sopra, la sfera oscillava tantissimo!
I heard quite a few fancams of Dimash's rehearsals and performances from the Singer. There is some postproduction on the Singer (like on most official TV shows), but Dimash didn't need it. Also, there is no post production on Gala concerts (for example, where Dimash performed Hello in 2018). Besides, there are plenty of fancams of his performing SOS in his solo concerts. Instead of wondering if he needs autotune and making public assumptions just listen to the million fancams of SOS from his different concerts and you will get your answer.

It's a fact there is digital tuning and pitch correction on the singer which is why I always recommend his raw live performances for reactors and vocal coaches instead of the singer performances and I wish more dears would do the same .

They just hear auto-tune and get angry , I'm sorry if you got some negative comments for speaking the truth . If you're curious , there was auto-tune in fact used in S.O.S in the F#5 mixed note and pitch correction in the F#5 mixed note in the climax after the B4 & the last note D6 after the G5 was tuned as well . The most clear example of pitch correction was Opera 2 , the very last high note where you hear the volume drop like he got tired or lost intensity . He didn't but he was flat on that last note so they had to use pitch correction . It’s sometimes difficult when we hear the backstory behind particular performances. You’re right that he corrected some earlier pronunciation issues. But it is more the emotional connectivity that he has with this song that brings it to the next level.

Wow, I hadn’t seen this version before - fabulous!! That wasn’t the best idea, IMO, putting him in a cage (even a beautiful one). Part of Dimash’s performance is his free movements over the stage, his hand and arm gestures, and that setting constrained that freedom. Also, I really hope he doesn’t have a fear of heights, lol. Dimash LOVES heights and it was his idea to be in there. In fact his production managers have to very often give in to Dimash's needs to be coming down from ceilings on ropes, being up super high on stage props, going up on hydraulic platforms while playing his dombra. And in fact during his MJ tribute (Bastau concert) they hooked two cables to him and had him "floating" over the stage during Earth Song. He's a daredevil at heart that makes his crew cringe and very nervous often during concerts 😂😂 💜🤗💜🤗💜🤗💜🤗💜

Ciao Lucia. Hai visto il concerto ARNAU di Nursultan da cui è tratto questo video? La canzone è stata dedicata a Denis Ten. C'è tutta una parte che è stata tolta dal video su MTV dove Denis canta (lui e Dimash avrebbero dovuto collaborare ma poi Denis è stato ucciso). È estremamente emozionante e commovente. Inoltre non so come abbia fatto Dimash a mantenere la concentrazione e cantare lì sopra, la sfera oscillava tantissimo!

I heard quite a few fancams of Dimash's rehearsals and performances from the Singer. There is some postproduction on the Singer (like on most official TV shows), but Dimash didn't need it. Also, there is no post production on Gala concerts (for example, where Dimash performed Hello in 2018). Besides, there are plenty of fancams of his performing SOS in his solo concerts. Instead of wondering if he needs autotune and making public assumptions just listen to the million fancams of SOS from his different concerts and you will get your answer.

It's a fact there is digital tuning and pitch correction on the singer which is why I always recommend his raw live performances for reactors and vocal coaches instead of the singer performances and I wish more dears would do the same .

@@LuciaSinatra Most of them don't follow these shows and don't know anything about post-production . They just hear auto-tune and get angry , I'm sorry if you got some negative comments for speaking the truth . If you're curious , there was auto-tune in fact used in S.O.S in the F#5 mixed note and pitch correction in the F#5 mixed note in the climax after the B4 & the last note D6 after the G5 was tuned as well . The most clear example of pitch correction was Opera 2 , the very last high note where you hear the volume drop like he got tired or lost intensity . He didn't but he was flat on that last note so they had to use pitch correction . Here you can watch the leaked unedited performance ( it was on Weibo and I uploaded it just in case someone wants to see it ) please tell me what you think .

Chinese producers did a tremendous job on every performance of Dimash on The Singer. Was totally outstanding and anyway, a little help is never disgraceful for a meticulous perfectionist like him 😉!!
