Dear Ginger, Because of you I started to run, congratulations on all that you do. Watching your videos got the motivation to run out 2 ultra marathons this year. Once again, congratulations. Greetings from Serbia (Europe) !!! :)
Beautifully edited, Ethan! And, of course, congrats on the race. What a fantastic experience. Thanks for taking the time to make this video and share it with us!
Wonderful to see! I feel like an amateur training for a half marathon but you have just given me the kick I needed to get out there! I know I have never met you but it is a HUGE achievement and I am proud of you for doing it! Well done!! I sincerely hope you enjoyed that beer!
Amazing footage, editing, soundtrack, cat, trail, friends, fellow runners, and BIG ol' HEART you put into this race! Thank you for inspiring so many of us.
Amazing job!! Well done!! Just wanted to say that my husband was representing his "train, race , beer" shirt at the Pikes Peak Races this past weekend- tons of comments on it!! Thanks for your fun inspiration !!
inspiring! You captured nicely the pre-race jitters -- I was feeling it as though with you, getting ready to run. And, given the look of that course, I wish I was there!
So happy I stumbled onto your channel. I feel like I've lost my passion for the two things I used to love most, running and making videos. I can clearly see you're passionate about both! I'd love to see a "Day in the life of GingerRunner," video.
Ethan, you're a brilliant editor and awesome video-maker. I loved this SO much ! This was very entertaining to watch and it didn't feel like a 10 minute video. The footage from during the run was really nice. I don't share a lot of videos, but I just tweeted about this video. It's a must-watch for runners. When it comes to honest product reviews and awesome race reports, the Ginger is THE MAN on RUclips :-) Meow. - Marc
Congrats on your accomplishment, my sister also ran this as well and mentioned it was one of the most insane races she has ever participated in! Hopefully one day down the road i ll give it a shot but sticking to road races for now! Just subscribed, great channel, keep up the good work!
Great video and congrats on the race. Very motivational and inspirational. I may have to up my game beyond 26.2. I also used to live in Seattle and made it up to BC many times. A beautiful place to run.
Awesome video and fantastic music. Who is that? The course looks brutally technical, but beautiful. You do a great job on the videos. Congrats on the race, all that training paid off.
Ginger, Im from Medford Oregon and everyone at RV runners in Ashland are top notch! That area has really become a training hotbed for some amazing ultra runners! Great race brotha, keep up the good work!!!
Wow Ethan, good on ya for meeting the challenge! Great video, tough course, happy ending :) Special shout out to Joe, Bethany and Rogue Valley Runners - Ashland Oregon home of some pretty fine ultra-distance runners - YAH!
Great Vid of a great race. It was totally worth to come over from Germany to take part in this awesome race (although I did only the 23k, a friend of mine did the 50 miles). Thx so much for this vid, as it keeps memory alive :). Will be back next year :)
Ethan, I can't even begin to tell you how awesome this video is. Really inspiring -- but also greatly entertaining. What camera did you use? Was it just a smartphone camera or something more sophisticated?
Great vid. Love those single track and the raised wooden walkways. Tell the truth... how many times did you want to chuck that camera/bar into the forest during those 50 miles?
Hi there dude. Love the videos. Keep em coming. Love the music. Can u put up what sound tracks u use and do you listen to this type of stuff when running? Laters.
Great video and quite inspirational. Thinking of doing my first race next month since I got into running to lose weight. Just a 5K so its nothing compared to 50 miles. Can't even begin to comprehend that distance. Hope you do another gear article for the stuff you used in this race.
Hi Ethan, I recently just discovered your RUclips channel and have been checking out your videos and reviews! Awesome! So to answer your question about the toughest challenge/ race I have ever had,, so far. I'm down on the Outer Banks of NC and last year I had signed up the the GraveYard 100, which is a 100 mile and 100k event that took place in March. Well in February during the the Myrtle Beach Marathon I came down with a bad case of the Plantar Fasciitis! with only 4 weeks form race day, I did everything I could to heal up.. either way I was going to start this race. Well I started feeling the PF pain around mile 5 and around mile 29 it had gotten so bad it was like running on a golf ball with every heal strike. I have never DNF'd in a race before and this was twice the distance I have ever done. had I not been injured I a confident I could have made the distance, but under the circumstances I had to make the tough decision to call it at mile 29. It was either that or risk permanent injury. I'm back running now but will only run marathons this year, with the hopes of running a 50 miler in 2015. If you have any recommendations on an east coast 50, I would love to hear about it!
I am not a runner, but I do enjoy it very much and it is my workout of choice when I'm not doing my main sport of rowing. My biggest physical challenge probably has to be the notorious 2000m erg test. It is a truly painful experience which I cannot compare to anything else I've ever done but just like in any other sport that feeling when you beat your personal record is unmatched and makes the grueling pain completely worth it.
Mate, I absolutely love your videos... they're flippin' brilliant ! Hands down the best reviews and funniest run related clips on the Y-tube Though, after watching this clip, I am a little worried that Tony Kupricka was originally in the car and that you stole his sun-glasses 0.57 leaving him by the road side.
Is it always mounted on your extension pole? I bought a chest mount for my go pro and you can't see a thing. Awesome video, just discovered you're channel, amazing!
So inspiring! Mate, I've done ironman and have been a marathon runner....but have never done any ultra running stuff. Can you point me in the right direction for training for the Squamish 50? ....do you have a training system that you'd recommend? Love any help you can offer! Warmly, Joe (Vancouver, BC).
Dude Your awsome!!! Great inspiration!!! You should do an ultra here con South America! Great People, Great Food, Great View Awsomeeee Beer! Regards from Colombia!!!
Very cool video. Nice trails and congrats. 50 miles is no joke. I plan on doing the Northface 50 mile challenge at bear mountain n.y in may, if it sounds interesting google it check it out.
