Take That React to Robbie Williams Quitting Band in Resurfaced Interview (1995)

On 4 August 1995, Take That members Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald spoke to ITN ahead of their first live show since Robbie Williams quit the band the previous month. With Williams having left at the end of the European leg of the band's Nobody Else tour, the remaining four had to re-stage and re-choreograph the show in just a matter of weeks. Asked whether the band would stay together in Williams' absence, songwriter Gary Barlow told ITN that "we're gonna be here as long as the fans want us to be here." In fact, that Christmas the band would decide to go their separate ways, with the split being announced in February 1996.
Nearly 30 years after his shock departure from Take That, Robbie Williams has reflected on his time in the band and his career in the decades since in an eponymously-titled Netflix documentary series directed by Joe Pearlman.

If a band ever say 'the fans' etc. it's just for show. If the record company/management want them gone, they're gone. 😅 The business is way more brutal than (most) people realise.
