Wallace is getting big and has so much energy. Angus and Millie are very patient and tolerant of Wallace. Thanks for sharing your hounds with us. Seeing them off leash and having fun makes me happy. 😀
Wallace runs between Angus & Millie so cute , think they will all sleep well. We had our basset catch up yesterday, loved it about 20 hounds there , so much fun . Look forward to seeing Polly & Perci soon 🐾🐾🐾
Washing your hands at cemeteries is not a custom I've heard of so I looked it up and the explanation mentioned Maori customs. Thanks for sharing it with us. It is wonderful that Angus and Millie are patient with Wallis.
Always love seeing the Flat Basset pack with their noses to the ground but I don't think that we'll be seeing them with their noses to the grindstone any time soon! Can't wait for Polly and Percy to get acquainted with Wallace. Fascinating about the water at cemeteries custom.
There noses are about as good as a blood hound. When my son's beagle was still with us his nose would pop when he would start to track something. But I haven't noticed the girls doing that. I have a couple of rabbits that come into my front yard and tease the girls. Boy do they bayyy, lol!
LoL re "no car" sign. I LUV the fact that Wallace is so chilled (on one hand) whilst continually "hucking" Angus on the other ❤❤❤❤. In comparison, Brother Bosco's Angus-equivalent is us 😂😂
We taught our basset “Watson” to track our kids by their scent. We took a bit of time but our big boy was very driven with treats and praise. Yours are adorable!
Hi guys, Lovely seeing how Millie is so good with Wallace and how patient and great brother Angus is too. Wallace seems to have abundance of energy and tolerance as he is young and fearless ( just when we were once young, that we may have been fearless and full of energy) once one gets older we slow down. And just adjust to being in the pack!! Bassets are known for their ability to be tolerant of other animals, besides their own kind. Great to hear you all. Soon you have not been well. Bugs are going round in our area in the UK. Take care! Francesca
Soon* meant to be sorry!! Ought to of worn my glasses before writing the previous comment. 😱 Crikey, getting older is not fun. Need to go with flow as we age!! 🐶🐶🐶
Greetings from Ohio, USA! Always enjoy your gorgeous Bassets and their adventures along with the New Zealand scenery. Lifelong Basset parent here with 2 currently. Would have never guessed the soda bottle was used for what you described. Any Basset Hound Rescue groups in NZ?
It's not often that a basset hound is in need of rescue or rehoming in New Zealand. On the very rare occasion that it's necessary the basset hound club work together to find the hound a new home that suits It's needs.
Missed the stream, but lovely to see the hounds out and about - just the right medicine for the troubles and stress the world throws at you! Wallace is indeed supersonic - are you sure he's pure Basset?😂🐶🐶Very interesting about the Urupa/Cemetery custom - there is a similar custom in the Jewish tradition to wash your hands, but only upon leaving the cemetery - there's always a tap or water source and small utensil to this purpose.
If Wallace was Scottish, he’d be Wallace the Fearless. He’d have his own castle. Angus would be his reconnaissance scout. Millie would be the princess in the tower waiting for a treat.
My collie/pit mix male cannot stand other dogs. The vet's office has to clear other pet patients when he comes in (sorry, he's a rescue with a bad background). But when it comes to puppies, he's a completely different dog. He just takes whatever they dole out. They sit on his head, maul him, chew his tail. His patience is extraordinary. He's currently 14 years old. It's amazing the instinct dogs have to tolerate pups.
I see that NZ has a "Department of Redundancy Department " that puts up signs too !!! .. the bassets nose physiology is right at the top..its breaking thru the short attention span thats the issue.
We had a Basset girl years ago who had longer legs than most Bassets and loved to run, we called her the world's fastest Basset. She was a rescue and may not have been a full-blooded Basset.
Turns out Angus was faking a sore leg....... 🙄
What better way to get some time off from puppy sitting?
Typical angus
I love these hounds!

Yes, I found that fascinating. 🧐
So the distance that Millie will walk before getting tired would be called a Millie-meter, then.
Les bassets les rois du sprint ....🤣🤣👍....!❤❤😊
Tasty cats! good job wallace

A bassets nose is only second to the bloodhound. ❤

That sounds like a lit of fun

Wallace loves his big brother and sister! ❤😊😊
Angus is very patient with Wallace ❤
Basset is 2d only to a Bloodhound in scent/tracking ability.
I love how Angus & Millie teach Wallace all there is to know about being a basset. And LOL at that sign!!!
At times, Wallace looks like he’s going to step on his ears🙀
🐶🐶🐶
Sassy puppy!
⚡ Wallace ⚡👀 like he's super charged ⚡🔋 with energy ❤ Angus ran out of energy ⚡🔋⚡ and Millie just Millie
He went to sleep after dinner and hasnt moved since lol

Wallace is almost as big as Angus and millie. He's no puppy anymore!
Love the redundant sign 🤣
You have to ask yourself, who was the idiot who made it necessary to put the sigh up. 😆

A good sunday to all

The hounds will have their day!
I love the way you whistle. Sadly I cannot.
I suspect that Wallace’s long tail is actually a propeller, the ears are flaps. Someday he’ll achieve lift. Basset Air. ✈️

Can’t wait to see all five hounds together.

Bat outta Hades shot out of a cannon...
Fast, but Sophie says she's faster!!! 😊 click on her avatar and watch her take off!!
