Simbang Gabi at St Dorothy in California Dec. 14, 2024

Simbang Gabi is a spiritual tradition to honor Virgin Mary celebrated by Catholics around the world. It is a series of 9 night masses leading up to Xmas. It foster community sharing, joy in preparation for the birth of Jesus.
An integral part of Filipino holiday decorations are Parols, lanterns made of bamboo sticks, covered with colorful tissue papers and adorned with designs limited only by one’s imagination.
Every year the Filipino Ministry at St Dorothy in Glendora, CA sponsor a reception following Simbang Gabi. Typical Filipino foods are served, there’s dancing and raffle prizes from $50 gift cards, to trip to Catalina island, gift basket, and grand prize of TV.
