congratulations to you both. I have a flat that I rent it lovely to get some bits yourself . when I moved in I did not have as much money I had a few things from friends and family. I got all my fridge freezer and cooker as a deal in Currys . I love where I am . it was still being built now it's developed nearly .
Sara save you money and buy a simple expresso machine and regular coffee pot (aka Mr Coffee) along with a coffee grinder. Whole beans are much cheaper than coffee-pods and you can get much better quality coffee. Additionally you can get these quick chilling cups under $25 USD that you put in the freezer overnight and then pour whatever liquid you want to cool in it and in a minute or two your piping hot coffee will be about 75 degrees F or cooler. I use two of them making my iced coffee drinks one for the coffee and the other for the half/half or milk. I then mix the chilled coffee and milk and sugar/honey and flavor syrup. Another good coffee trick/tip is to buy a good quality vanilla beans and split it and save the seeds/pulp and add it a real vanilla extract to really make it have more vanilla flavor and put the split vanilla pod in a pound or so of caster sugar to give the sugar a nice vanilla flavor (simple bury the pod in the sugar and store in a air tight container for a few days before using the vanilla bean can be used several times before needing to be replaced (actually I keep using the old bean and add a new bean to it) when the bean pods are completely dried give them and some sugar a blitz in a food processor and then add more sugar to make a different type of vanilla sugar. Additionally the vanilla sugar can be made into a simple syrup to flavor your coffee with. That said how does your Brother Sherpa like his little brother-in-law? Also are you going to have a bed etc incase your brother wants to come and visit? PS Get a vacuum (Hoover) before you move in along with cleaning supplies so as you are boxing and unboxing things you can clean them all the while running the Hoover often to get rid of dust/dirt you are stirring up. Lastly take a picture of everything you are putting into each box and number the boxes as well as putting a short description (kitchen/bedroom/bath/etc.

Congratulations on the new apartment! An espresso machine is where you put a scoop or two of the coffee grounds into the machine, press a button and you get espresso. However, I have found those are few and in between when it comes to availability nowadays and manufacturers are preferring to go the disposable pod way. As someone who's had both, I much prefer the espresso machine; it's much more environmentally-friendly, makes great coffee and freshly-ground coffee is the best! It was unbelievable how much of those plastic pods we're throwing away! Congratulations again.
