fun update: as of today, Aug 12, the passport Canada office just sent me an email responding to an update request I submitted online in mid May, and hilariously said they could not find any file regarding my name, Canadian efficiency guys.
Wow what a bad experience for you. I have made all my passport renewals through the mail. 20 business days converts to 6 to 8 weeks in calendar days this is the 4th time i go through the process. I had no problems or wasting a half a day lining up to do it. I understand if you need it fast you need it fast. Since you can renew your Canadian passport up to 12 months before it expires i have always had enough time to go through the process completely by mail. The great thing about that for me is no time off from work was required to complete the process and no rush fees needed to be billed.
What a nightmare--many countries have expanded passports that have many more pages designed for people like yourself that travels a lot. Love your videos with a touch of humor.
Awww thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed. Yeah, I reached out to them explicitly to ask for a thicker passport, but was told they don't do it now as it is "too busy"
Bad timing I guess.... Many people were planning to travel in summer in 2022. At least the Canadian passport officials didn't go on strike like the ones in the UK did recently.
Don't know if you touched on this aspect as I haven't finished the video yet, but to me one of the biggest embarrassments, shocks, and something that I believe should be ridiculed and criticized much more by the people, is the fact that the Canadian Government (THE GOVERNMENT THEMSELVES) will not accept payment in cash. Something of which they designated to be legal tender since 1871! And again reaffirmed by the Bank of Canada Act in 1934. So if you don't have a credit card or debit card, you are not allowed a Passport. Baffling. They would rather deal with money coming from Visa, Mastercard, or American Express, than their own money coming from their own people.
Man I was really lucky I guess . I got my passport same day within around 2 hours or so. And I did not even have an appointment. And line was very short and moving fast. Maybe things got better now hmmm....
recently they got dunked online so many times they finally tried to fix it. now it is much smoother and far fewer applicants. Also covid apparently is not a crippling issue any more.
My Wife needs to renew... our trip is in Sept but we are in the U.S. She is doing expedited mail service. 5-7 weeks it was. Our trip is in weeks. Crossing my fingers.....
My photographer stamped the back of my photo with " I certify that this is a true likeness of " and then left a space for my guarantor to write my name. Will this be accepted or does that statement need to be hand written? Thank you!
Your photographer should have written your name by hand in the back. But I highly doubt they can detect it was anyone else writing it so I think it should be fine.
Wait until you find how the ER's are run. A man died in a hospital in Surrey, BC from bleeding out over the course of hours and hours of waiting, until he succumbed to his wounds. A slow and brutal death.

Thanks for sharing your tips. Hope that many people can benefit from it and get their Canada passport renewal faster
yeah, seeing people fainting in the sun is so heartbreaking, especially after witnessing the mess inside.

I'm sure Young's dad and mum are proud of him. They're just too humble to talk about it
This is so crazy. I just applied for my new one and can’t believe how bad this process had gotten. I love how you told this story by the way! 😂
thanks for watching! I just think it was worth talking about, and today it is hopefully a bit easier than the experience I got through.

I did not notice that, yeah that is very sad that you have to deal with banks to have a passport.
Do I need 2 government IDs, or is 1 ID enough to renew my expired Canadian passport
2 ID. but your old passport counts as 1.
@@beyounged my old passport is expired
it does not matter. but do check the official website for reference.
thank you man , i am doing it sooner in Vancouver
You are very welcome! Wish you luck!

Sad how Canada has gone DOWNHILL
Yeah, beauracracy got the beat of our system
i’m doing a application for a new passport and i’m a little worried because i live in mexico… So, how long did it take to receive your passport?
About 2 month and half total. You should be prepared for 3 months as well if nothing changes.
What the ***
I thought Canada was pretty well organized 😕
So sad you lost your old passport......
yeah... I thought so too until I encountered this fiasco clown shown. It was an awesome passport, who FINISHES a passport right?

a lot of our systems cannot remotely cope with the reality. I am so angry and sad about our government inability to adapt and improve.
Tips are helpful
Thanks for watching!😁
OMG.... you didn't check your mail an you lined up? So you applied to get it mailed. These guys should all be fired
it was particularly bad that year. the whole mess was unbelievable
