I will, say, I felt no pity about the stairs at first. I live on the 4th floor of my dorm and I choose to take the stairs instead of the elevator. But then you got to the part about laundry and I felt very grateful for the elevator I have to the basement of my dorm building so I don't have to carry it up and down the stairs.

Yeah I don’t mind walking up and down the stairs but when I’m carrying 2 bags of laundry as big as me, it complicates things😂😂

While it’s not a mall per say, there is old orchard shopping center only 15 min away

Also yogurt is bacteria. It does not go bad from sitting out for a few hours. I promise, you are ok. I had the same concerns at first about the yogurt at my school, but there are so many regulations to make sure that dining halls/school food is sanitary.

I know yogurt has bacteria. It’s not about the bacteria and more about the fact that they fill the container when it’s half empty. So all that old yogurt just stays at the bottom of the container and never gets cycled.

Also I know that there are sanitary regulations at all schools, but when I was at Cornell, people were getting served raw chicken so I’m kind of skeptical from now on lol

@@lucywbeck Oh ok! Yeah I think that needed clarified. That is actually disgusting. I would be concerned too.

@@lucywbeck Oh my goodness! Ok, yeah the video makes so much sense now. That is ridiculous to have a $70k tuition and be served raw chicken.

    1. Winters lol
    2. Windy lol
    3. Yogurt in dining halls? Lol
    4. No dorm in elevators
    5. Laundry
    6. Heating/AC, switches at a set point in the year
    7. Package center
    8. No nearby mall
To be fair most of these are Chicago/general issues, not as much northwestern specific but that’s ok, Thank you so much! Wish you all the best!

My 2 EDs right now are Northwestern and Cornell, between the two which one do you think?
How bad are the workload at both schools, and how competitive are people at the schools? I know everyone at both would be super smart, but a lot of kids will act super competitive, and others will be more chill

I think it depends on what major you’re applying for because workload and competitiveness vary a lot by major. If one school is rated better for your major, it will likely be more challenging and attract greater talent. I hope that helps!

I hung in there for complaints one (cold) and (wind) but bailed after you complained about where the yogurt was placed. Ugh.

@@Carlos-mv5xs I liked SMQ! It was close to downtown Evanston which was nice. It’s also a very social dorm so it’s easy to make friends. There’s always people hanging around the smq lounge that you can start up a conversation with and events happening weekly where you can get to know students and faculty. Enjoy your time in SMQ!
