Hears One Winged Angel. Me: KH flashbacks of Platinum match. Also me: Bring it on, Sephiroth. I beat your ass once, I WILL beat you again! *raises my keyblade in before me* *May Your Heart Be Your Guiding Key*
I agree, for the most part, however, I'm sad songs from the newer FF's are not on here. Somnus - FFXV, The Promise - FFXIII, Dust to Dust - FFXIII. Nor a classic like Theme of Love - FFIV.
I feel a way. Rinoa's theme, as well as Fisheman's Horizon from FF8 not being on this list is blasphemous 😲. Eyes on Me, Seymour's final fight theme!? Ultimicia's final fight!? Are we all hearing different things here?? These songs were iconic 😫. Sigh... Art IS subjective I guess.. 🤦🏾♂️
Rinoa doesn't have a theme. Uematsu didn't write any character themes in VIII because he found them "ineffective". Don't agree with him on that though.
@@Chelaxim the song is called "My Mind". Look it up. It's only played when Rinoa is present. Most RUclips videos call it "Rinoa's Theme" in the title. So in the court of practical application, it's her theme. Whether he intended to or not.
@@Chelaxim Its played for the 1st time when Squall meets her for the 2nd time on the train. Then nearly every time Rinoa is highlighted thereafter. At 1st I was gonna say, maybe it's a song intended to play when Squall and Rinoa are bonding... till, the scene when Irvine was supposed to be saving Rinoa from the sand prison, per her father's orders, but she beats him up and forces him to turn around. They played the song on that part as well. But, I hear ya. Regardless, it's an amazing piece of music.
@@Chelaxim Is that really what you got out of all this....😑? What I'm saying is, there's INTENTION, then there is the FINAL PRODUCT. His INTENT was to not give characters personalized music. However, each and every time a PARTICULAR blue duster wearing heroine appeared, a certain song played in the midst of the final product. So I repeat, whether he intended it or NOT, the FANDOM seems to believe so. Which is why you can find COUNTLESS RUclips videos with the title "Rinoa's Theme". Dont blame me, blame Rinoa's ingame timing. Unfortunately, not every fan is gonna read the post-notes about the game's music enough to know that the characters dont have theme music. All due respect to HIM or course. I'm quite sure HE is more than satisfied with the fact that the songs are still being talked about and admired 20yrs later, not the semantics. Its art, and art is subjective, and meant to be interpreted. Be it Rinoa's song or not, it doesn't change the fact that its one of my favorites, and as a now 30 year old man, I remember how it made me feel as a child playing. Alot of nostalgia. However my experiences are mine. I wasn't concerned about post notes about what belonged to who. I appreciate your input, and me now knowing this I'll stop calling it Rinoa's theme, and instead call it "My Mind". However, me knowing wont change the title of the dozens of RUclips uploads ppl have calling it Rinoa's Theme. I luckily never uploaded it. The MASS majority still thinks of it as her theme, and I cant disagree with them in their thinking, seeing as I believed it for 20yrs.
It was a conscious choice to keep the video short and on point with the surrounding comments rather than just play long segments of music, but we'll definitely keep that in mind for any future videos on music.
@@TheLifestream yeah thought of it. in terms of efficiency you did a fantastic job! onpoint comments accompanied by great scrores to highlight the ideas of comment contributor! thnx for the response btw )
I love One-Winged Angel but there are others that give it a run for its gil. Dark Messenger/Darkness of Eternity from FFIX. Heart of Chaos from FFXIII-2. The Extreme from FFVIII. Dancing Mad from FFVI. Magna Insomnia from FFXV. Otherworld and Fight With Seymour both from FFX. A whole host of boss battle themes from both FFXI and FFXIV. It's honestly all personal preference.
Well most people agree that VII-X have the best sound tracks. There are JRPG RUclipsrs with more subscribers than the sales of II,V, Tactics A2,4 Heroes of Light and Mystic Quest so why wouldn't the more popular titles get more songs on the list?
@@Chelaxim That is definitely not agreed upon except within certain bubbles. VI's OST is highly regarded, with multiple mentions in the intro of this video alone even though none made this terrible list. OWA wishes it could be Dancing Mad and Aerith's theme while great is just a variation of the superior Aria Di Mezzo Carattere.
@@jessepbigjdp Dancing Mad is a variation on Johann Sebastian Bach's Preludes and Fugues along with George Frederic Handel's Messiah. Most people will agree with VII,VIII,IX and X being in top 5. Hey, Jesse! Event runner of the polls that lead to this list here! I feel obligated to say that, indeed, given that our community is centred around the FFVII fandom and thus largely attracts fans of FFVII, there's bound to be some bias. :) That isn't to say songs from later titles such as XV, XII, and XIV weren't nominated and voted for, nor earlier titles like IV and VI. It's just, well, as I've said, given the community ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. It would be interesting to see this same ranking event held in an forum centered around the XIV fandom or VI, eh? lol Having said that, I implore you to please consider joining our discord and having your voice heard in our current ranking event (ranking cinematics)! This was a good list. You really hit all the big ones.

same!
The opening FF7 theme before you start with the harp.
I knew it. When i heard the first few notes of One Winged Angel, I think of a reference to Fantasia Rite of Spring.

Uematsu is a God. May he be blessed with improved health soon.
Lulu's theme, Auron's Theme, FFT Hero's Theme, Chrono Trigger Corridors of Time...
You missed out otherworld from FFX braska's final aeon battle. That tune is so bad ass.
Awesome ❤
Cool vid as always , but I think the transitions between pieces are too fast.
Maybe some more music time to appreciate a song
Keep up the good work!
