Disgrace. The first 999 call wasn't made for like 30 mins.. All too busy taking vids and photos 😡 and why didn't Alton Towers staff make the call straight away?

It shows what people are like nowadays. More obsessed with likes on social media platforms than actually caring about others in their time of need.

It was human error. The phrase “you had one job” is thrown around a lot these days.

Both kneecaps broken. Left knee looks like quad tendon rupture as well. Right knee looks like patella tendon tear. Probably ACL or PCL rupture. Meniscus involvement by default. People don't realize that these kinds of injuries are for life. Knee replacement on a least one knee guaranteed.
Long after those at fault are dead this dude will still be going under the knife...

Rides are actually incredibly safe. Strict maintenance guidelines keep them structurally sound, while operators communicate the situation all the while the rides are in use. Diligent maintenance technicians and disciplined attentive operators serve as a dream team who ensure your fun day at the amusement park is a safe one. With the Smiler, the ride was inspected before the park opened and given a clean bill of health by the technicians. So the ride was good to go. However, the same could not be said for the operator. They sent a ride down the track, even though the previous ride was stuck there, and the rest is history.

there was nothing wrong with the safety of the ride; it was human error, easily avoidable

      Rides are all safe
The people running the ride that day were likely useless students
