Ali was in the wrong though in that situation Joe helped Ali a lot while he was down and when Ali started to really get going again winning fights he had his eyes set on fighting Joe Frazier for the title he started to verbally assault the man on TV but not only that questioned Joe Fraziers character on TV. Public image is unfortunately an aspect of celebrity and when someone messes with that by lying on you it has to be addressed and Joe probably felt betrayed and that’s a hard thing to forgive.

If there was never a Joe Frazier. There would have never been the Ali that we all know and revere. And versus verse . Regardless of the Liston's, Foremans, Norton's, and all the rest. These two great ones are who made each other. That's why Ali said if he were ever to fight a Holy war he would want to fight it back to back with Smokin Joe😅. There is no bigger accolade than that, in my opinion..

To be honest, Ali understands perfectly well that Joe beat him in the greatest fight in the history of sports, because it was the coach who stopped the fight, and in Ali’s corner it was he who wanted to stop the fight. Ali understood that Frazier was “taken away” from the victory in the greatest fight and the title of the greatest, after that he wanted to elevate Joe Frazier in every possible way, he said that Joe was able to break him, although Ali, even in death, did not admit that Joe had won him.

Joe Fraizer hated Ali. It is in his autobiography. Joe Fraizer support Ali to box again. Once Ali started boxing again, Ali turned on Fraizer.
Even later in this interview they started brawling. They were not friends.
      Fraizer stated about Ali,
"People ask me if I feel bad for him, now that things aren't going so well for him.
      "Nope. I don't. Fact is, I don't give a damn.

I shared an elevator with Ali, his wife, and some of his entourage in the late 70's. What impressed me first was how large a man he was. You don't get that from seeing him on TV. I was so dumbfounded, I couldn't say a word. Man, I regret that to this day. When we got down to the ground floor and out into the street, he was immediately mobbed.

March 8, 1971, Madison Square Garden, NYC. Two undefeated heavyweights meet in a 15-round title fight, the first of their 3 epic bouts. I'm an Ali fan, but Frazier won that fight...he relentlessly took the fight to Ali, finally knocking him down in the 15th round. It remains the greatest boxing event of my lifetime. God bless Muhummad and Joe!

@@jamesanthony5681 He loved Joe. It was Joe that didn't like him, but not until after this show aired. Ali's antics really hurt Joe and his family, but I doubt Ali knew about that.
