    I think I have watched all of your videos trying to decide on what to build. Used to fish the gulf near Apalachicola. I can't decide between the v bottom and flat bottom designs. We used semi v type fiberglass boats and could comfortably a few miles off the islands. I really love the look of the Hatteras and pangas. Great content!

      My deciding factor would be if i had access to launch my boat from the beach anywhere nearby, i might want a flat bottom. If not, full v would let you get around faster but be a little less steady not moving.

    I like that design but I’m going to look at several of your other designs to see what would be the best for a first attempt at boat building...Thanks Jeff

    Great video Jeff.
    Can you help with a boat choice? I'd like to build one for inland lakes and Michigans Great Lakes. Used for fiishing, tubing, etc. Needs to fit a family of 6-8. I'd like it to get up to 35 knots or so without a massive outboard. I like the flat bottom option of being able to beach it sometimes. Thanks for any advise you have.

    Hi Im looking to build my first boat. I live in Sydney and want to go offshore for fishing. Would you recommend this one over your other boats?

    • @tjkid07
      @tjkid07  4 года назад +1

      It depends on what you are looking for. I have 105 designs and each is recommended over each other depending on what the builder is looking for. All are capable of offshore fishing.

    Hi, I have question regarding building this Hatteras V-Bottom Dory. Can I use Thick Plywood for Frames instead of 2x4? I'm planning to built this in the Philippines. Also can I use 20hp motor for this Hatteras V-Bottom Dory 18 feet? Thanks

      @tjkid07  3 года назад

      Yes, you can. Best bet is to send me an email to info@spirainternational.com and I can give you more detailed info.

    Does this have a self-bailing cockpit?

    • @tjkid07
      @tjkid07  4 года назад

      Normally not really, but you could build it that way. Normally, it'll self bail when on a plane, if you have the right scuppers, but not stopped.

    Just Share this on all his videos. Jeff has passed away and his site expired and the domain is gone. There are a few historic snapshots out there. I do not know if anyone owns the right to his plans anymore.
